  5. thanks! i tried to make it look as professional as i could while still staying on a very limited budget. most of the shelving and display cases were bought used from craigslist. i wanted to have the colorful lego boxes and sets themselves stand out so i just left the walls white. the brick wall idea i got from another independent lego store down in florida: brick city bricks (great store and very nice owner, check them out if you’re in the tampa area). i still have to finish up the party room, and start on my big display/town area, i’ll keep you all updated!

  6. So very well done (I am actually surprised) - That clean/professional appearance you created makes a huge difference. Parties will be a big part of making this successful, and you certainly seem to have made it a welcoming environment for such things.

  7. we had our grand opening yesterday! Great turnout, way more than i expected, about 20 people in the store at all times from open to close! People really seemed happy with everything, no complaints so far. Kids were all very excited to see so many Lego sets and loved building minifigures. Got to meet lots of adult Lego fans too. Closed today, so I can finally get some rest, then back for more tomorrow. I had my wife and a friend help out all day yesterday but it will just be me from now on until I can hire someone else. Thanks again for all the support here!

  10. This snapshot is taken from the following link, https://bestblackfriday.com/ads/target-toy-book/page-46#ad_view, Pg #46 Per what it's written, it appears this promotion will start from this Sunday 10/28, till 11/10. Text TOY to TARGET (827438) to get the in store 25% off coupon. As usual, there will be exclusions on the coupon and more than likely LEGO is excluded. Based on the BTDT price, my guess is it will be the store/online running promotion instead of the after coupon price, but $10 GC should apply as it states.

  14. It looks great! If my business travels take me that way I’ll definitely stop in. Also, look into getting yourself into Google Maps. I looked you up and couldn’t find it. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Forum mobile app

  15. City is a D2C so there is less scope for discounts as they are not stocked by supermakets, but some people did get it for around 30% off. Docks is a playset like Destiny´s Bounty and it should be possible to get 40-50% off after Xmas when stores like Asda and Argos clear them out. For me 31% off is not good enough at this early stage but YMMV.

  18. That is awesome, great job and stick to it. My son is having his twice birthday party at bricks and minifigs. New owner, first was a solid winner. We have bought much and traded with the prior owner. I would have loved to buy the store but just wrong timing. Your passion for lego will make all the difference. I spent a bundle there because of it. Even though online was cheaper, you can't replace passion with price.

  21. Not much in Mexico , adventure time and doctor who were liquidated about six months ago in a toy store chain , they were like 30 usd for doctor who and 24 usd for Adventure time . Walmart Mexico liquidated the yellow submarine a month ago for 40 usd. Other than that, getting ready to hoard on this years employee Christmas’s present gift set.....

  22. That's my dream, right there. Looks awesome. People always aim (but rarely obtain) to have a job they love and are excited to wake up to in the morning. I can't think of anything else.

  26. Whether or not this set succeeds or flops as an investment, one thing for absolute certainty is that this set is made of pure creative win and is stunning. This set is the epitome of what I believe the reason Lego Ideas was created for in the first place. But yeah if that thing is a sticker then I'll be like "dang, oh well".
