  2. we had our grand opening yesterday! Great turnout, way more than i expected, about 20 people in the store at all times from open to close! People really seemed happy with everything, no complaints so far. Kids were all very excited to see so many Lego sets and loved building minifigures. Got to meet lots of adult Lego fans too. Closed today, so I can finally get some rest, then back for more tomorrow. I had my wife and a friend help out all day yesterday but it will just be me from now on until I can hire someone else. Thanks again for all the support here!

  9. So very well done (I am actually surprised) - That clean/professional appearance you created makes a huge difference. Parties will be a big part of making this successful, and you certainly seem to have made it a welcoming environment for such things.

  10. That's my dream, right there. Looks awesome. People always aim (but rarely obtain) to have a job they love and are excited to wake up to in the morning. I can't think of anything else.

  11. No. Received email stating "...heavy applicant volume, it is taking longer than expected to complete the verification process."

  13. Finally succumbed to buying the 42056 Porsche because the price was finally right... £129.60 from Argos eBay after voucher and CB. Collected it today in a mint shipping carton. Argos finally got something right. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

  17. Best haul I've ever had today. Got everything in the picture, including quite a lot of smaller unboxed sets, for £100! A lot of it is still mixed up in bulk, but I've been able to briefly look through and it looks like all minifigures are there. Can hardly believe my luck with this!

  19. I think if you can find someone willing to pay $5,000 for your collection that you should immediately run out and buy a lottery ticket. You may squeeze $2000 out of it if you list everything individually and verify that it is complete. If you try to unload it in bulk you'd be lucky to find a buyer over $1,000. Not a lot of "wow" in your set list.

I see your grand opening is on for this Saturday, October 20! Congratulations on making it to the start line on time and best of luck!

  24. My guess is sales for the year are pacing below expectations and they want to start moving inventory a little more before holiday season kicks in. Could it be that not having TRU as an outlet is affecting overall sales?
