I would like take a moment to complain about sellers that use buy it now 'or best offer', but then aren't willing to accept anything less than 98% of their original price. If they want the full price, just damn well leave it at that with no offer. Morons.3 points

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lego-forma-add-a-splash-of-creativity-to-your-day/#/ It appears this launched today- technic builds with fish skins that is more kickstarter type project. Hadn't heard anything about this. I think they would make a cool display or desk piece. The question is how many and long term value?1 point

I hear you but it worked out for me yesterday! I made an offer two weeks ago (or 5 offers that is) to realize the guy had the best offer set so high that 96% didn't work. I ended up buying anyway at full price which was still a good deal and got 10% eBay bucks, but I might have bought two or more if there was a little flexibility. So, yesterday, after receiving the item, I reached out to him to thank him for the great packing and quick shipment and to see if he would deal now. He offered me 20% off on two or more and I bought his last 5 and used eBay's 15% off coupon. Go figure. He would of made quite a bit more by being reasonable with his buy it now price. Even at 95%.1 point

Traction Engine - Brick Built Version Hi everyone. I've recently completed work on a brick built version of The Old Workhorse Traction Engine. I've had to swap some colours around to reflect Lego parts and colours that are currently in production. I've also made a few minor improvements to the design of the model which I will detail below. For now I've only built the Traction Engine portion of the set but I'm working on the wagon and other bits so I will post pictures of those too when they're complete. I've redesigned this to have the appearance of a brass cap and a tapered shape towards the top which is more true to how a real traction engine funnel should look. I've also redesigned some of the details on top of the boiler, behind the funnel to appear more realistic and to give added stability. Brick Built Version of The Old Workhorse by Bricked1980, on Flickr For the brick built version I decided to use a 2 tone colour scheme for the main body. The lower half is in earth green and the upper section of the cab and boiler are dark green. Unfortunately the spoked wheels are not available in red so I used reddish brown instead. I'm pleased with how the new colour scheme has worked out, it has quite a rustic look. My preference would still be for the model to be produced in the livery used in the original rendered model though, if ever it was lucky enough to go all the way on LEGO Ideas. I do think the lighter shade contrasts nicely with the gold though. Let me know what you think. Please feel free to let me know what you think. There are more pictures in my Flickr album including a short video clip of the model. If you like the model I'd also be really grateful if you could please give it your support over on LEGO Ideas if you've not done already. Thanks very much. I ordered the City Advent calendar from WM for $21.97 and used store pick up. When the associate arrived he paused, looked down at the set in a closed bag a read a note that said "this isn't exactly the item you ordered, so we gave you a different one instead." He handed me an Arctic Ice Crawler 60109. Me: "This isn't a calendar" Associate: "True, but it has ice and it is Legos." Me: "Lego" Associate: "What?" Me: "So I'm guessing because it has ice you thought, what . . . winter?" Associate: "You want it?" Me: "No, but I'm going to make you listen to me for the next five minutes as I discuss the problem of phantom stock in your store, because I think I found a new reason why the tracker is off."1 point

Bugatti is $340 (15% off) I'm not personally interested for that price but I'm shocked at how quickly I'm seeing a sale for it! https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07C8L9CRJ/?coliid=I2619IEW0XMYNM&colid=2DLK1AFO96AJV&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it1 point

However it passes the Wind Farm CEO desk test and all those guys are making so much money from government grants they don´t know what to do with it so they will sell a few to that demographic. For the general public, a fart in a lift will be more popular.1 point

Brickset comments show people being upset about this not being offered in other markets and thinking the secondary market price will be high. Smart/devious of them to offer the shark skin separate, that's the one I would be interested in. They ought to do this with the Ideas line. Make people put their money where their mouth is, so we don't end up with Adventure Time.1 point

I hadn't thought of that. I wonder how I'd go about arranging that? Will look in to it. Well by far the most popular models on LEGO Ideas seem to be the sets based on space. So if all else fails perhaps this should be my contingency plan. ??? Space X Traction Engine Spoof by Bricked1980, on Flickr Thanks very much. Glad you like the set and thanks a lot for supporting it. ?1 point

I'm really excited today to say my Lego Ideas model is featured in the latest issue of Blocks magazine, with a double page spread and interview with me. ? The magazine is in stores from today. You will also notice a brick built version of the traction engine in the picture below - more on that soon! My Model Featured in Blocks Magazine by Bricked1980, on Flickr As well as this I was also featured in the Leicester Mercury newspaper last weekend. A picture of the model was splashed across the front page with a full page article on page 3. You can read the article online here. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/local-news/train-enthusiasts-lego-model-design-2002147 20180915_183541 by Bricked1980, on Flickr1 point
