Here we go with the plant based material BS. Let's throw in one tree in each set and promote them as "green." The only green LEGO cares about is money.3 points

I was curious .. in southern Manitoba we have two wind farms. One has 60 Siemens and the other 73 Vestas wind turbines. But yeah, the price blows me away.2 points

Brickset comments show people being upset about this not being offered in other markets and thinking the secondary market price will be high. Smart/devious of them to offer the shark skin separate, that's the one I would be interested in. They ought to do this with the Ideas line. Make people put their money where their mouth is, so we don't end up with Adventure Time.2 points

They’ve (or it may be another similar company) been working with Clemson University and wind production off shore here for quite some time. They ever pull the trigger, I wonder who they’ll hire to shuttle people out there?2 points

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lego-forma-add-a-splash-of-creativity-to-your-day/#/ It appears this launched today- technic builds with fish skins that is more kickstarter type project. Hadn't heard anything about this. I think they would make a cool display or desk piece. The question is how many and long term value?1 point

I also backed the super box. I don't know how difficult it would be to scan those fish skins and print on some kind of PVC/plastic sheet but that seems the greatest risk here. The technic pieces are not unique and once the instructions are out anyone could have that part. Custom skins would be fun. I would love to see a walleye or large mouth bass. As long as it doesn't sing "take me to the river..."1 point

I go to the NC outer banks several times a year. We pass a big field with at least 50 of these fans on the way, maybe 30 minutes or so from the coast. Not sure if they are vesta tho.1 point

I just have a business inventory policy that provides a set level of coverage regardless of what specific sets I have at any given time.1 point

Here is a BrickLink picture of bricks from 1958. Look very similar. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=legobricks-1#T=S&O={"iconly":0}1 point

That's a very old Lego logo. I think that brick is from the 50s or 60s.1 point

I'm surrounded by these things where I live. No way am I buying one of these, I'll just go outside and see how they've ruined my view.1 point

This is a great model. It not only represents the physical subject well, but also the economics; This model will need a financial incentive or subsidy to make it affordable.1 point

For UK folk, you can currently pick this up for 20% off from smyths, instore only as they have an offer of £10 off for every £50 spent Comes to £519.99, I managed to pick one up, my local smyths only has 3 left, most stores have 5 in stock, this offer will last until Sunday, however doubt they will get a restock of MF so if you want one then you should hurry up, as this will probably be the best price to pick for UK folk until the next smyths 20% (which will prob be next year) or if amazon reduces, doubt Lego or John Lewis will reduce in price.1 point

Hello everyone, I have been on this site for many many years and have collected legos even longer I had to create this new account because I haven’t been able to get into my old one. Anyways what I’m wanting to talk about in this post is a new idea I came up with for the 60 Drawer stack on cabinets that a lot of us use to store extra parts and pieces. The cabinets have always been great and I love using them but if your in thing like me it can still be hard to see inside while looking for the pieces your needing even tho there clear. I have seen where people use the label makers to label each Drawer but that can still cause some problems if you need to change out the parts in the cabinet often or rearrange it you will always be making new labels. So check out these before and after pics of my 3 cabinets that I did last night. Also please tell me your Thoughts and any ideas you might have. Thanks you for reading can. Checking them out BEFORE AFTER1 point

I am a bit concerned about this discussion, as it has become a very sensitive issue nowadays. Perhaps the brick is Trans-Brand, and self identifies as a LEGO Brick - I would suggest it best to ask the brick if it feels like a LEGO brick.1 point
