I'm really excited today to say my Lego Ideas model is featured in the latest issue of Blocks magazine, with a double page spread and interview with me. ? The magazine is in stores from today. You will also notice a brick built version of the traction engine in the picture below - more on that soon! My Model Featured in Blocks Magazine by Bricked1980, on Flickr As well as this I was also featured in the Leicester Mercury newspaper last weekend. A picture of the model was splashed across the front page with a full page article on page 3. You can read the article online here. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/local-news/train-enthusiasts-lego-model-design-2002147 20180915_183541 by Bricked1980, on Flickr5 points

Periodically, I enter a handful of special search terms into B-Seek looking for clues on upcoming or unannounced releases. If the search yields results, the UPC and SKU automatically come back in the search results. I did just now test the one of the SKUs by going to W-Mart . com, finding any Lego listing and going to the product page, then replaced the SKU at the end of the URL with one of the ones in the screenshot I posted (even if parts of the URL still reference a different set). Press Enter and it refreshes the page and does pull up what looks like a legitimate placeholder listing with no picture and "This item is no longer available" (which really means this item is not yet available). I think as part of the sales and inventory planning process Wal-Mart must prepare their databases in advance. Before technology like B-Seek, Wal-Mart's process kept the new listings rather hidden. Now days with the new tools, the old process is inadvertently revealing clues to those interested enough to search for them. Search terms I use every couple months searching Wal-Mart via B-Seek . com: Lego 2018, Lego 2019, Lego IP, Lego conf, Lego confidential...2 points

Alright, now I'm betting Eddie "the wizard" Lampert can keep the Sears Holdings ship afloat at least until after the holidays . Here's the story: My car's tires are worn out, and as of last week one of my tires is slowly deflating. Dealership quoted me $700 for 4 Michelin Premier A/S tires. Went to my closing Sears Auto Center and got exactly the same tire for $75/piece, making an even $300 and hence qualifying me for the $300 cashback ($25 next day, then $25 each month on the 15th of the month). Purchased using a Sears GC which I bought at Meijer with $30 back in Meijer rewards as per their current promo (those will be used for LEGO ) So 60% off tires, plus extra points to boot. As my wife wanted a new TV, I then went over to KMart and purchased a Samsung 55" UN55NU7100 4k UHD tv for in-store pickup. $600, marked down in cart to $550. Went over to Sears, took a $35 off $300+ coupon (which said it excluded TVs), applied it at KMart, and it worked. So down to $522 in total. Grabbed a bunch of 4% off Raise giftcards (using RAISE1 to get the extra 1%) and purchased the TV for $500 after tax (Amazon price is $550 before tax). Qualified for the $75 points back ($25 next day, 2 future installments of $25), got extra points back somehow for a total of $115 back in points. Let's see how many of those points will credit before the program stops or SHC files for bankrupcy. One thing's for sure - I'm cashing them out as soon as they post Think I did OK2 points

This set should easily get to $100+ within 1-2 years, assuming there isn't a rehash any time soon. The previous iteration, 3222, also did very well. There are definitely some money makers in the City theme. You just have to know where to look. My three dozen are in cold storage until Christmas of 2019...muahahahahaha.1 point

Terms says *select lego products*. I think it's up to the store manager's discretion if certain lego is qualified, so ymmv.1 point

This was a great set for me. Got 5 on clearance at $30 each a few months ago, all sold for more than twice that after fees, shipping, etc.1 point

^^^ got the last one from my local Target. Not hugely into SW but just can’t walk past half price lego. UCS MF arrived yesterday. I knew the box was going to be big, but crikey hell fire! There’s no hiding that from the missus.1 point

Themes likely matter as well. Rich grandma will pay $185 for a 10595 Sophia Castle via Alexa without thinking twice. She's never heard of Bricklink and not going dumpster diving over at eBay even if it saves her 40% off FBA premium.1 point

THE "LITTLE" WORKHORSE Mini Build and Free Instructions Hi everyone I've created a mini version of The Old Workhorse, made up from just 82 bricks. I've made the instructions freely available under the "Updates" tab on my Lego Ideas page. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2a2ec583-9836-4868-8dc7-6b3bb0a2fe80/updates#content_nav_tabs Please feel free to use these instructions and have a go at building the model yourselves. The only thing I'd like to ask in return is if you could please support my LEGO Ideas project whilst you're there. Hope you like this fun miniature version and enjoy building it.1 point

just got my "this set is used" new/sealed friends hotel (selling around $260ish). box beat to hell and then some, the shipping box is worse. Seals are popped and resealed with packing tape on both sides. everything inside is sealed but the first instruction book is missing. I am about 99% sure they reported this so they could get a free instruction book. Not sure what to do, but probably just move on. The buyer would not respond to my super polite email.0 points
