  2. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think the price guide will eventually move to only values from the United States, like it was at the beginning of BrickPicker. Values from outside the US have always been difficult to acquire and aggregate. Many times there are language issues/conflicts that affect the way the information is gathered and utilized. Honestly, there is just not that much demand for these values outside of the United States. There is another issue as well...money. We have never charged anything for the data, but it costs us a substantial amount to obtain it. Affiliate advertising has changed tremendously over the past decade. eBay basically pays us nothing from what they did 10 years ago. Target is done paying us. Toys R' Us never paid anything. Skimlinks and Amazon are what basically keeps the site running and that is barely enough. The US secondary LEGO and reselling market is much larger and viable. This is just a fact. I wish we could give you exact values for all 10,000+ sets in the database, but that will never happen with data from outside of the US. With the differences in currencies and languages, it is just too difficult to make the non-US data perfect. Unfortunately, it would take a substantial monetary and time investment to make this work. This investment is not a worthy one at the moment...Sorry.

  4. Wow even Charlotte is panicking? Here in Raleigh it's full on bedlam. Grocery stores are cleared out & long lines at gas stations. I guess people remember Hurricanes Hugo and Fran. I stocked up, ready to hunker down. Wife & I can get caught up on some movies & season 2 of GLOW. Hopefully flooding is not bad. Best wishes to my neighbors in North and South Carolina. Stay safe this weekend.

  5. You get what you pay for. Seriously, quit bitching about the database. It's like someone giving you a car for free and you complain it doesnt go fast enough

  6. price is dependent on marketplace (amazon, ebay, bricklink, facebook/cl etc) and what country you are selling in. i haven't paid attention to brickpicker price tracker because its not tracking my selling marketplace. as far as i'm concerned the only real use of the price index is to see how a set is doing over time - price changes over time will generally be the same over any platform. no real financial incentive to maintain the index which would be significant work. people aren't paying for subscriptions here. back in the day, you could look up an individual set on brickpicker and see its price chart over the preceding 6 months on ebay. unfortunately that disappeared during one of the updates so now you have to keep track of prices on sets you follow manually or just buy lower and sell quicker so that you aren't wasting precious seconds of your life tracking the value of a set (instead you can spend them in a walmart clearance aisle).

  7. Excuse me? We invented the date format and we also invented Lego. You guys got ISO 8601 and Megabloks. Happy birthday to your wife too - wouldn´t want to forget that, whatever the format.

  8. I looked up set 180911 then was pissed when I realized it was a silly EU date format and a day ahead of me no less. Pre Happy Bday to my wife while I'm at it though seeing I got the date on my mind now.

  9. Bought Fuel, Milk, Cheese, Bacon, Water. We have supplies already but people even this far inland are freaking out. Going to be a strange few days. I leave tomorrow from Charlotte to Las Vegas for work, supposed to take the red-eye back on Friday arriving Saturday AM. With Florence bearing down, we will see if I get back in time or not...

  10. Silly Europeans with their date format, their 24h time and their metric system. Perhaps the Americans can think of a way to make a system that works for the whole world based on the length of an average 14th century elbow?

  11. KMart coming through once more: went in to cash my $8 on $8+ Free Cash on some 20% off clearance set. Found a 70623 destiny's shadow, scanning at $22.40 (AMZ current price $48). Totally surprised when I had to pay $5 at the register, so went back with the other 70623 they had, and took a stack of similarly priced 70624 Vermillion Invader along.

  13. No, they would have each day named after a former president and the time would always be Miler Time brought to you by the Dodge RAM and Camping World. More seriously, their Brickfolios would all be in the red due to having cracked open the seals on their Megabloks USS Enterprises to check and claim for all the missing parts....

  14. After reading a number of FaceBook posts this morning about changes to the Lego.com.au website. Overall this is pretty good - the free shipping on orders over $149 isn't working properly at the moment. But that shipping time of 3 - 5 days will be great for exclusives, assuming they have enough stock. They had a few polybags listed for sale - which i'll have to keep an eye on.

  15. I believe you mean Footloose. Leatherneck was the infantry trooper replacement for him a couple seasons/figure waves later. As such, they had similar looks.

  16. So what is the best way to protect yourself from first time buyers? I just sold a cell phone and didn't realize the buyer just joined ebay the day before and I already printed the shipping label. I had a buy it now price and they paid right away. I sent them a message to confirm that knew the phone was locked to a carrier. Haven't heard anything back. Any steps I can make to prevent getting scammed?

  19. So wondering with the current discount and clearance, is it interesting for investment? Myself I invested for approx 400euro bought single figures for 3-8euros a piece, double ones for approx 10-15. Seems like this is a good theme to collect however I doubt if anyone buys for the game itself. Still maybe interesting to sell in bundles? Whats your opinion? Als the clearance in europe was not that epic compared to us. Sent from my Mi A1 using Brickpicker Forum mobile app

  20. No one thinks T1 is going but interestingly enough it's been 25% quite a bit lately here in Canada which I had never seen up until that passed month or 2. And as it's been said before, sales on hard to find sets are a lot harder to come by here in Canada. Tower Bridge keeps moving in price on Amazon as well... I'm not necessarily convinced they're going... but makes you wonder.

  22. THE "LITTLE" WORKHORSE Mini Build and Free Instructions Hi everyone I've created a mini version of The Old Workhorse, made up from just 82 bricks. I've made the instructions freely available under the "Updates" tab on my Lego Ideas page. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2a2ec583-9836-4868-8dc7-6b3bb0a2fe80/updates#content_nav_tabs Please feel free to use these instructions and have a go at building the model yourselves. The only thing I'd like to ask in return is if you could please support my LEGO Ideas project whilst you're there. Hope you like this fun miniature version and enjoy building it.

  25. This site is just a message board at this point. People keep complaining about the database, but it clearly isn't worth the time or effort. I'm sure the Mack's would love a few volunteers who want to do the work.

  28. You’re absolutely right. It is Footloose. The first result on Google for Footloose from the cartoon is from that meme. Good call! I wish I Netflix or Amazon Prime was streaming the cartoon. I’d love to pull those out for my kids to watch.

  29. I liked the scene with the shootout in the donut shop. I actually wrote about it for my final exam essay in a little intro to film criticism class I took my freshman year of college. Had to pick a short scene in a movie and discuss all the color symbolisms and metaphors and such. Got a perfect score and a few extra credit points, professor said it was one of the best in the class.

  30. Dalmatians, in particular, we're used in the late 19th century and early 20th century to run along-side horse-drawn fire wagons to serve as a barrier between the horses/wagon and other people and animals on the street, as the wagon raced through to a fire. A short description of the history can be found here, for example: https://www.livescience.com/33293-dalmatians-official-firehouse-dogs.html If you ever happen to visit Boston with little kids, the Boston Fire Museum is a great place to take them. It's small, but loaded with historical trivia such as this.

  34. Actually that would be a cemetery if we wanna be nitpicks. Technically, a graveyard is only a graveyard when attached to a church, hence the 'yard' part. ? Otherwise it's a cemetery. Though a lot of people use the words the same.

  39. Well seeing Harry Potter minifigures at Barnes & Noble just fits. Plus LEGO needs to get rid of the stock any way they can really. I am curious where the other three packs will go.
