I’m just the opposite. I want to set up a huge Winter Village display, so I’m not interested in play value - just display value. I want to set everything up and then just look at it.4 points

This looks pretty good! Id like to see the reverse but the height and color is nice when compared to other buildings in this series. Sent from my VS995 using Brickpicker Forum mobile app2 points

As a long time seller on Amazon, I can tell you that they only reach those lofty prices when Amazon runs out of their stock. In the case of this set, that was for less than two weeks. Given the time that it takes to ship the product to Amazon and for them to process the receipt of it, you can easily go broke trying to hit that window. Used to be, you could flood Amazon with your stock starting in September and keep it in stock until that optimum time to sell it. However, the last few years, AZ has raised their warehouse prizes such that it is very hard to make a buck in that fashion. It's easy to pick out a small windows in which a set had a handsome return. Actually taking advantage of that window is an entirely different matter.2 points

Actually that would be a cemetery if we wanna be nitpicks. Technically, a graveyard is only a graveyard when attached to a church, hence the 'yard' part. ? Otherwise it's a cemetery. Though a lot of people use the words the same.2 points

I know this is just my own personal opinion but I’ll go on a limb here and express my thoughts that Funko Pops are the worst thing to happen to collecting since “Beanie Babies” as they are now near worthless with a few exceptions like the “blue elephant” Everything about Toy collecting and investing starts with the Box grade and legos are no different. That being said...if anyone in here remembers the excitement of opening a 42056 gt3 RS porche and how cool That Box is... Then I’m not suprised the repeat collector is looking for the cleanest Bugatti Box they can get their hands on. One common trait I’ve noticed about collecting is attention to detail is king in most collectibles which is why I’ll pony up for a 1/6 scale replica hot toy Figure 24/7 Over any Funko POP any day opened box or Not. ...and yes these figures scale near perfect to a Sphero R2-d2 fyi-lol1 point

It would never happen due to the religious connotations of course and LEGO wishing to remain nonpartisan, but I think alot of people might agree with me that from a purely creative standpoint, the next best logical addition would be a Winter Village Church. Something like this.1 point

That’s extra snow effects. Lol I don’t plan on leaving it up for too long. I’ve got other displays I’d like to rotate into the same space.1 point

LEGO store market and online market are 2 totally different things. A lot of sets sell like crap in LEGO stores and some sell bad online. Each market is different. Not sure if you were following them at Xmas but they were one of best flips out there. They were still limited in availability at the time which helped but still hit like $450 on ebay and $600-700 on amazon. Plus a 12k rank for a $250 set ain't bad at all. Other comparable $250 range sets are Big Ben at 48k , Joker Manor at 50k , Tower Bridge 32k. The set is plenty popular...1 point

Just noticed on LEGO Shop at Home.au the UCS Snowspeeder 75144 is marked as "retiring soon." It only came out just over 12 months ago (May17). So if you want one maybe sooner rather than later?1 point

Cointelegraph mentions the Goldman Sachs backed out of its planned crypto trading and in my view it correlates with that drop.1 point

All set, the end result was freaking awesome. Hands down the best and most enjoyable set that I have ever built. The final piece is pretty sturdy and more importantly breathtaking . A must for any adult builder who is into the HP franchise . My 2 cents on some missed opportunities/cons from a die hard HP nerd POV . Stickers : about 70 - 75 of them. They do help keep the piece count down ( otherwise building some scenes would add a lot of elements ) and they do hit the mark portraying their respective scenes , however printed bricks would have been a better idea and added more elegance to the set Is this a Hogwarts Set or a HP Hogwarts set ? Meaning it stays loyal to HP's POV of the castle . Would have rather had the other 3 common rooms added along with the kitchen ( threw in an elf of two ) rather than have many scenes from the first movie. Speaking of first movie , should have added Fluffy and done away the dragon since again it is heavy one the first movie scenes. Room of requirements : in the dungeon? gmab Should have had Hagrid, no excuse for that one not to be included. Bonus micro figs : Slughorn, Lockhart, and Mad Eye.1 point
