  1. I think I might start watching now. Something tells me this is the best source for science on TV.

  2. Just wanted to confirm that the post office modular is indeed just my MOC building "Brick Square Post Office". That box art shot is just something I knocked together in photoshop yesterday, but I apologise if it has tricked anyone, that definitely wasn't my intention. When I build my own modulars I always try and present them using similar backgrounds and camera angles to help them appear similar to official modulars. A couple of examples below... I created the box art shot to share on my instagram. I have posted many shots of my Post Office on there before and only have a small following so I assumed that people would realise it was just another fancy way of presenting my model. Perhaps it was a step too far though and I deleted the picture as soon as I heard that rumors had started to circulate about it. It had only been online for a few hours. You are right. The image is basically just the Downtown Dinner box with my model photoshopped on to it. Yes the mail van in the shot with my Steam Engine is the same one from the Post Office. Here is another picture with them all together. Once again, sorry folks if that picture tricked anyone.

  8. You'd think a show with so many LEGO references and pop culture themes similar to ones discussed here would be more popular on this site. Oh well I'm no scientist but Penny can sing soft kitty to me anytime....

  18. One thing about this show is that it normalized “geeks”. Comics and collectibles were frequently featured, there was almost a full episode about building a Lego Death Star. Whether the show was funny or not is simply a matter of personal taste, and frankly not all that important. The free advertising for all the overpriced stuff I sling on Amazon was priceless.

  19. Imo think they should of made it like ewok village off the ground on some type of platforms all connected to give it the sense that its in the air. They should of made the landing pad to fit the ucs slave 1 the minifigures are cool maybe you can use them as pillers to hold the model in the air lol. Just wish TLG would start making more modular type sets that you build up into a complete model instead of charging say £300 for 1 set they could split that up into smaller sets like they do with them magazines. Release a new set or few each week or month desinged to be collected and connected to build a massive model not saying they shouldn't make big exclusive sets just might be a new way of releasing a big set and could focus more on detail for each section of the model. I know they do it with some sets but they should focus on doing it more on the Sw theme sets. Sent from my SM-G935F using Brickpicker Forum mobile app

  20. EBay Boxes Only $32 shipped 6755 Sheriff's Lock-Up 2151 Robo Raider 6493 Flying Time Vessel Selling off the vintage LEGO boxes I acquired in a huge CL lot that was an impulse buy. I have more, all in good condition. Only a hand full were flattened. The bricks in the lot are all dusty some with sun damage. Most figures are present and in descent shape. I'll leave that project for another day/month/year.... or never.

  22. Hassle costs time. Time is valuable. eBay's paying peanuts for the CSRs to handle this and it's built into their business model. The buyer only spending a few minutes to potentially get $100. A seller's potentially going to spend more time arguing with eBay than they spent listing, packing, and shipping the order. Diminishing returns. And that's why I said the first thing to do is figure out how much it's worth to pay the buyer in cash to not have to lose more time dealing with it.

  24. I've said it countless times before and will say it again. Caving in for fear of eBay automatically siding with the buyer is nonsense. True, you may have a hassle on your hands if you fight it. But not enough sellers doing this is much of the reason it is so difficult for the rest of us. I've won more cases than I've lost against buyer nonsense. You may have to keep calling and politely demanding to speak to different people. They will tell you there is nothing they can do, quote policy, blah blah - but once you find a rational person in the escalation department, they can handle it however they want. That said, I would think carefully about how you listed it. "Complete" may be open to interpretation when it comes to packaging, pictures may be seen as contradictory. You may be better off negotiating the partial refund if you can accept giving back a lower amount. That's what I would do, and if they won't agree to a reasonable amount, I'd fight it.

  27. Was the word "complete" anywhere in the ebay listing for this item ? If it is, then your best bet is negotiating the partial refund with buyer

  28. If it's true commission and you didn't have to buy the set up front, even less reason to send it to ebay. Make a counter-offer and live with whatever the buyer finds reasonable to be done with it.

  29. I had a buyer do something similar. In their reason for cancellation they openly admitted it was a case of buyer's remorse, but eBay took all of a few minutes to decide in their favour. It's not a battle that you are likely to win, maybe offer $60-70 as a refund. Although if they reject that, then you are again at the mercy of the eBay overlords

  31. I agree with the above. Although you might be rightly pissed off avout being played (the buyer could have asked when it didn´t appear in the pics and before completing the sale) you would be at the mercy of ebay customer service and how they interpret complete. Knowing they usually side with the buyer, you´d have to call several times and kick up a stink and maybe just maybe someone might cover the difference but it´s more likely to end in a snad and you would lose the whole amount. Meeting them half way would save face for all concerned.

  32. Unfortunately, without having specifically pointed out the defect, you're at the mercy of the customer service gods here. How lucky are you feeling? I'd probably figure out how much of a haircut I could afford then send a polite message thanking them for getting in touch with you about their dissatisfaction with the purchase, saying you did your best to represent the set in the listing. As a courtesy to satisfy their concerns you'll offer either a return for full refund (your call on +/- shipping cost) or keep the set for a partial refund that's 50% of your own acceptable max haircut. My thinking is that while going to ebay has the potential to let you keep all your money, there's also more risk. Yeah, if the buyer accepts your offer you're out a bit of money but less than the buyer asked for and ebay might grant. And if the buyer doesn't accept, then at least you might have loaded the dice a bit in your favor.

  40. LEGO is promoting the "Master Builder Series" name because a set like this is no ultimate collectible. My main issue besides the awful box art is the scale of the set. They should have made it work with the 75060 Slave 1 and left out the inadequate Slave I version in this set and put the extra parts towards the structure. They could have made entire design larger and sold a separate Cloud Car. I understand what LEGO was trying to accomplish here, but they cheesed out and instead of an iconic set, they got another set that displays poorly and will not generate the buzz that it could have. For almost $400, I want better than this...

  47. March 30, 2018. This is a date that will forever be remembered. I can get a little emotional at times. As an adult, there are a few instances when I've shed a tear. I cried when my son was born. I cried again a year later when my daughter was born. I cried tears of joy when my beloved Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl 31 after three decades of mediocrity, and again when they won Super Bowl 45. The last time I cried was two years ago this April when my Mom passed away. March 30, 2018. Today is another day that I've sobbed like a baby. Upon waking up for work, I checked my phone like I always do. Waiting for me was a PayPal notification. A large one. I checked my Bricklink account, and it appears that some blessed soul has decided that they needed some Steam Rollers in their life. Yes, some Steam Rollers. All of them. 27 to be exact. Gone. Purchased by an unknown person. A risk taker. A gambler. A guardian angel, perhaps? I began this saga with over 50 of those Steam Rollers. I'd sell one here, one there through multiple platforms, slowly chipping away at that number. I whittled it down to 27. Now I have 0. They are gone. The purchase price was just a shade over $1k. I'll make a few bucks on each one after the usual fees and shipping, but that's not the point in this circumstance. The nightmare is finally over. March 30, 2018 is my Independance Day.
