This is exactly why if I were Elk I’d take the $2k above what I paid offer. Zero effort for a $2k profit? Yes please.3 points

Im not buying this yet. Seems too rendered and the truck from the tractor is almost identical. This smells fishy. Side Panel on the front doesn't show dimensions or the exploded view.2 points
-
Sweet! This has me curious though, where did the guy trying to get his workhorse tractor promoted for IDEAS get the truck in this image? Looks very similar, too similar...2 points

Same as the prior Cloud City and in the same vein as the Death Star, it is unsurprisingly a playset except vastly improved from the original design. A high price point however I spot numerous types of large plates and pieces. I can only imagine how much this thing weighs. Almost an "all-in-one" layout similar to Assault on Hoth yet by comparison the Hoth set felt or appeared altogether complete then again there really is no way conceivable to create the entire Cloud City outside of what LEGO just did with Hogwarts Castle. There simply is too much of a city to cover aside from the most noteworthy scenes many of which have been done separately I believe. The redesigned Slave I and Cloud Car are nice. On one hand it is fun playset for the family with just about everything memorable conveniently included in a single set. On the other almost each individual component have been done as separate sets and in ways were better but then again said sets are no longer available. Perhaps LEGO could have released this in more detailed subsections with modular connectivity between them (Cloud City Landing Pad with Slave I, Han's Torture Chamber, the "I am your Father!" scene, and etcetera). Problem therein each could have retailed shy of a hundred dollars not to mention the amount of shelf space (in store & at home) taken by them all.2 points

LEGO needed something to balance out those Solo & Ep8 sets they were contractually forced to make and nobody really wanted to buy...2 points

A lot of hate on this set so far. We knew this was always going to be a big playset. Cloud City/Bespin is just a tough design to truly capture in LEGO form. It blows the original version out of the water and people are willing to pay $1,000+ plus on that one. Personally, I think this new version is great, but I have always liked LEGO playsets anyway...Yeah, it is pricey...but all LEGO is pricey. The minifigures are outstanding...especially digging that Luke and Leia2 points

Hi everyone I wanted to showcase my Lego Ideas project, The Old Workhorse - Traction Engine. If you like the model I'd really appreciate it if you could please vote for it https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2a2ec583-9836-4868-8dc7-6b3bb0a2fe80 "A roaring fire and a full head of steam, the old traction engine is ready for work!" I have created a scene set some time during the early 20th century. Farmers are working in the fields with their steam traction engine, affectionately known as "The Old Workhorse". The model includes a detailed mini fig scale traction engine, a wagon and various other accessories and mini builds. THE TRACTION ENGINE The main feature of the model is the traction engine itself. I've used a classic green and red livery with polished brass lining and details. There are several interesting parts used to create this engine including paint roller handles and mini fig syringes used to create the piping around the boiler and inside the cab. A system of cogs ensures that the flywheel spins around as the traction engine is pushed forward. A detailed cab interior includes steering wheel, controls and a firebox door that can be opened and closed to reveal the burning fire inside. The front wheel axle can be pivoted left and right. THE WAGON I've also included a wagon/trailer that can be coupled to the back of the traction engine and used to carry the various accessories included with the model. The sides of the wagon can be dropped down to provide loading access for the mini figs. There is space at the front of the wagon to hold tools and mini fig accessories. MINIFIGURES & OTHER ACCESSORIES Included with the model are 2 mini figs, a dog, a rat and several mini builds including tree stumps, logs and rocks. These are all designed to be carried and towed in the wagon. LEGO IDEAS Thanks very much for reading this. I hope you like the model. I've created a gallery album containing more pictures of the model if you'd like to check them out. https://community.brickpicker.com/gallery/album/310-the-old-workhorse-traction-engine/ If you would like to vote for the model on LEGO Ideas then here is the link to my page. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/2a2ec583-9836-4868-8dc7-6b3bb0a2fe80. Thank you very much! ☺️1 point

I like it. Much more appealing to me than Downtown Diner. Although at 2,900 pieces I'd be surprised if there's not another bump in MSRP.1 point

The old 10188 Death Star was a wonderful play set, but it also displayed well. This set will not make it to most geek's offices or dens as a display piece.1 point

Maybe... if you dont sell enough to have enough reputation. If you go down to 99% you wont get "taken down". I buy of people with 99 percent all the time (If you have other neg reps to your name then maybe u'd better play ball.1 point

Well seeing Harry Potter minifigures at Barnes & Noble just fits. Plus LEGO needs to get rid of the stock any way they can really. I am curious where the other three packs will go.1 point

Seriously? UCS Slave-1 and the UCS MILF meet the mail for me. Pretty ultimate in my books, and even minifig scale!1 point

Is the carbon chamber retired? Seems like a complete waste of pieces to include this. Lego should have just designed an area where we could insert the carbon chamber.1 point

They were able to keep the pics a secret because every time the pics leaked people saw that box art and said no way this is legit.1 point

LOL. It's definitely a.... set. That much can be said... Kids will like it for it's playability but wont be able to afford it, and doubtful many parents will buy it for them... Parents/adults want to display something pleasing to the eye... This is not. I'm underwhelmed but not surprised.1 point

I just purchased 4 more of these at 45% off, as I sold my last 2 at RRP last month. Pretty tough deciding how much to gamble on this one, as I personally love it, but hate ninjago. I'm hoping it will become the next Haunted House, where the theme has a single standout set that fits into any collection. Personally I modified mine to have a single dragon head, and I love it!1 point
