  5. We were able to attend the Ninjago panel at San Diego Comicon the other week. It was a lot of fun and we saw the designs for some new toys, as well as some previews of the upcoming animated season. According to folks on the panel it does look as if the next season is going for a big of a "Mad Max" feel. That was my sense upon seeing some of the previews, and at least one or two panelists confirmed that influence as well. We always love talking to the lego folks, here is a picture of our boys (one in costume, one in helmet), with a friend (stormtrooper helmet), and Vincent Tong, the voice of Kai.

  6. You would need to recall the entire ASIN to check that one unit. I say leave and see how it goes. in 95% of the cases, you wont have a problem when it resells. Also the repackaging service doesnt apply in these cases.

  8. On the last day, they gave out ALL the extra minifigs that no one came to claim. They had a secret line form upstairs and let me people go through and handed them a minfig. Of course you could go around and repeat haha. But no deadpool's, all black lightnings and UniKitty They were free at Comic Con, but you had to have been selected beforehand via a random lottery.

  10. Thanks, will do! I rarely have as much time as I would like to devote to hobbies, but I've been able to do lego activities with my boys more often in the last year or so. My wife enjoys it as well. Here is a picture of our boys, plus a friend (in the stormtrooper helmet) with Lego designer Michael Knap from San Diego comic-con the other week.

  15. Counter opinion for equal representation. TLJ was inspiring and original and I plan on spending late fall 2019 in Disney World at the new star wars galaxy edge with my son and wife. i look forward to spending tens of thousands of dollars on star wars before i die and most star wars fans i know feel the same. I used to try to change people's minds about the last jedi, but instead, i respect your opinion to feel exactly the opposite as me, just putting this out there so not every message about star wars is doom and gloom. To each their own.

  16. Right as BA was suggesting this is pretty common for returns. More often than not the unsellable returns I receive wind up being barely more than shelf wear and can happily be sent right back in after confirming seals and checking weight matches originals. I would imagine that the "sellable" ones really do have to be returned in very great shape. I suppose if something bad happened, you could at least point to the inventory history and tell Amazon that they listed it as sellable.

  17. We were fortunate enough to pick up many of the SDCC LEGO exclusives this year, and my boys put together a short video reviewing the Exclusive Ant Man set. I was fortunate enough to get approval to post the video here, so here it is. Apologies in advance for poor editing, etc.

  18. Are ALL those drawers filled with bricks? That lot does have potential, nothing wrong with taking a look at it and passing if you don't like it. Just looking at the small amount of pieces shown I saw 2 or 3 sets that would potentially be enough to peak my curiosity. As you stated that this would be for personal use anyway, why not take a look and offer $200 or so. I can't tell for sure in that picture, but is that a goat?

  20. Yeah that one actually is my childhood set, ironically enough, the pieces are still in great shape.... but I was one of those odd kids who didn't play rough with their toys or let anyone else touch them lol

  26. lol...it wasn't me. I was just taking Val-E's cue from his response to your original post. Congrats on the sale, though. It always feels good to move some of our slower selling purchases in bulk.

  27. Selling is the hard part of all this. In fact most of the guys above have slowed or are not into it as much anymore is mostly due to the aspects of selling. We ALL LOVE the collecting and building our collections.. ? As for your ROI.. that depends on you. You could try to quick flip and just maintain a 20-30% usually after a year of holding it turns into a 50-90% then after that its all up in the air. Is the set well received by collectors or not. Keep in mind this is all high level rough numbers. Depends on the discounts you buy the sets at. Where or what platform you decide to sell on and competition on said platform. As a last tip, have a plan before you get to deep into purchasing. If you search these forums you will find Several posts about people who got to deep to fast and found that selling wasn't their thing and are now stuck with $20,000+ worth of lego (or worse) Try selling some now get set up to sell on Ebay. And keep enjoying the build... its LEGO after all.

  29. The closing of TRU still hurts, it's difficult for me to think about TRU without some emotional attachment given that I grew up on TRU like many folks. One very interesting thing - I was in Asia recently, and TRU continues to THRIVE over there. Here is a picture of a TRU in Hong Kong. It was very crowded, and difficult to move around. Items were flying off the shelves, and the LEGO section was stocked with all the latest stuff. It was awesome. Somehow and some way, I still hold out hope that TRU may return some day. We will see.
