As usual, LEGO manages to cram as many play features as possible which for this ride above anything else was expected. Aesthetically could potentially be better yet still only so much is possible through the blocky nature of the LEGO brick. In any case this looks like a fun build to put together and play with.4 points

Prime Day worked out pretty well for me. It arrived yesterday in a giant box. And as Jackie Chiles once said in open court.... It did not survive the transit in one piece, but the seller was a fool for even trying. It was dusty from being on display, but everything looked to be in good shape. I subcontracted the teardown process to my 2 year old. He had fun taking pieces off and putting them in the 2 gallon bags. The whole thing fit easily in a 12x18x18 box, which surely would have been cheaper to ship for the seller. Once we finished ripping it down enough for it to be bagged I tossed him in the tub and he got a popsicle for being my helper. So this gives me now a pair of 10221 SSD's. I'll flip this one at some point soon.4 points

Well here's the brainstormed billboard. Top to bottom standing about 8 inches tall with the primary viewing space six inches wide by 4 inches high. (Color usage to better differentiate between sections.) A closer view on the rails. The Technic axle for reinforced structural stability in the pillars. The LEGO Digital Designer file should be attached to the bottom of this post for everyone to download. Altogether a decent start and warm up I think. I tried to maintain brick efficiency using the least amount of different piece types and overall stability. I believe the Technic axles can be further up going into the 2x3 brick just above the top 2x2 round pillar part however LDD does not recognize such connection. Now I do not know how good this would actually work in reality but the idea was there (has been for a while when I think about it) and figured it were worth a shot. Well anyway with that out of the way, I can get back to the original idea here. EDIT: You can find the latest version of the file in this post.3 points

Welp there goes my bad day at work to a great day in 3 min. This will require me to rethink everything star wars investment again. I more or less halted star wars except for a few sets and moved into elves friends minecraft and Super Heros after rouge one. This will change that.1 point

This guy arrived yesterday. It's becoming clear to me that buying retired sets from people who undervalue them seems to give the highest gains. No box queens and no quick flippers. Padded flat rate envelopes and regional rate boxes fit most used sets. Nothing like a 2 day hold time and 3x profit after fees.1 point

Some time after this reply, I came up with a sort of billboard brainstormed from remembering this piece (modified plate with door rail). The idea being able to slide in a photo from the sides with the rails holding in place. It is different than what was asked and I will get back to that soon enough. The concept just popped in there and if anything was mostly for me to get a better grasp on the measurements provided. Now I only need to make some tweaks to structure, capture a couple renders, then upload here.1 point

Besides the lazy design, for $150 they should have at least included Goldfinger, Oddjob and Bond minifigures!1 point

In the UK, small queues (lines in ´merica) just lead to bigger queues as people see one form and joint for fear of missing out on whatever is at the end of the line.1 point

You guys are overreacting over one picture. Wait until the official reveal and seeing the actual set in person. Personally I think the Porche 911 and Bugatti look butt-ugly. At least this is similar to the VW Camper etc. in that it's brick built and not a Technic mess with gaps.1 point

March 30, 2018. This is a date that will forever be remembered. I can get a little emotional at times. As an adult, there are a few instances when I've shed a tear. I cried when my son was born. I cried again a year later when my daughter was born. I cried tears of joy when my beloved Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl 31 after three decades of mediocrity, and again when they won Super Bowl 45. The last time I cried was two years ago this April when my Mom passed away. March 30, 2018. Today is another day that I've sobbed like a baby. Upon waking up for work, I checked my phone like I always do. Waiting for me was a PayPal notification. A large one. I checked my Bricklink account, and it appears that some blessed soul has decided that they needed some Steam Rollers in their life. Yes, some Steam Rollers. All of them. 27 to be exact. Gone. Purchased by an unknown person. A risk taker. A gambler. A guardian angel, perhaps? I began this saga with over 50 of those Steam Rollers. I'd sell one here, one there through multiple platforms, slowly chipping away at that number. I whittled it down to 27. Now I have 0. They are gone. The purchase price was just a shade over $1k. I'll make a few bucks on each one after the usual fees and shipping, but that's not the point in this circumstance. The nightmare is finally over. March 30, 2018 is my Independance Day.1 point
