I'm probably going to start using "My dad works for the FBI" in all my online correspondence. It's pure gold.4 points

Now it's a blame game for falling profits. Resellers were the first group to feel LEGO's wrath. Now it's people like The Brick Show posting a few "confidential" pictures of sets. Who really cares? LEGO is punishing those who help sell their product the most. LEGO should embrace anyone who helps promote their products.3 points

I usually cover my barcodes to protect them in case of water damage or whatever and they scan. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Brickpicker Forum mobile app3 points

Took my kids for the last time today. Any sadness they had was wiped away with the 80% off Athe remaining scrapes. Plus I picked up a couple signs today, including a LEGO sign and a sign with Geoffrey on it. I’ll post pics later.2 points

I spent this morning building a pirate scene by combining some baseplates, three pirate sets (6253 – Shipwreck Hideout, 70412 – Soldiers Fort and 70413 – The Brick Bounty) and some mini-builds from the Fun at Beach set (60153). The letters that spell Dad were a Father’s Day present from my daughter. The build was a family affair with my son choosing a spot for the shipwreck set, my daughter placing the fort set and my wife suggesting the colors for the wave MOC for The Brick Bounty. The artwork on the boxes was a huge help for set placement - what part of each set goes on land and what goes into the water. For the waves MOC I opened the 10697 Large Creative Box I have been saving. I made a place for the back of the ship to rest on and an opening for the rudder. The Brick Bounty must be careful in the area because one ship has already gone down! While building it I saw the shark from one of the sets and my mind wandered to a scene in The Lego Movie, “There were sharks, laser sharks and then there were more sharks!”2 points

So a story filled with species from all over the universe, working together to defeat the evil empire wasn't diverse enough? So we rejected all alien races and become "more diverse" by going with humanoids that are different... color? Star Wars was already the most diverse story franchise in history. Even more so than Star Trek which would feature one or two alien races / movie or episode. As for Marvel, that's not going to happen. They did what Star Wars should have done - they planned out their story arc four years ago and announced the plan. Star Wars are one-off movies sold as a trilogy. There is no story arc. There is no character development. All you are left with is an agenda sold under the banner "Star Wars". What we actually have been left with is men who are egotistical, misogynistic, dead beat, lazy, cowardly and worthless. No wonder the Star Wars universe is about women's supremacy, the guys are ALL worthless. The one woman in the empire is completely useless too. Phasma was promoted as some sort of female warrior. I now call her "Kenny" (as in South Park). Marvel is sticking to their plot line. And before everyone starts screaming "Captain Marvel is now a women," Captain Marvel has been a woman. That is not new. Marvel has great writing, characters, cinematography, etc. It is engaging. The opening scene in TLJ where Luke chucks his father's light saber (last seen when his right hand was cut off by his father - and just before he found out that Vader WAS his father) over his shoulder is the perfect symbol for what Disney has done with everything we knew and loved about Star Wars. I mean seriously, if they just wanted the name to do what ever they wanted, why didn't they go the bogus bricks route and call it "STAR PLAN". Mark my words, "Star Wars" will become a by-word (much like "jumping the shark") for when a studio ruins a franchise with an agenda other than telling the story. And Disney will be to blame unless they throw Kathleen Kennedy under the bus hard.2 points

Thanks for the Friday chuckle. Love the whole, "I don't know how you screwed me over..." bit! Internet gold from the start of the message!2 points

Shipping label on the outside of the box and it's destroyed by the buyer? Something doesn't add up, like this guys logic.2 points

As a fellow full time LEGO burn-out - I find the video a bit sad. I recall their earlier energy & enthusiasm (the fun), and it reminds me of my own transformation.1 point

I know I would be pissed as well and would like to go out on my own terms. Who knows what really is going on behind the scenes. People always assume this and that. I know it is difficult to battle a multi-billion dollar corporation like The LEGO Group or Google. At the end of the day, the money made versus the time/effort spent on the channel was probably not worth it. There are too many knockoff channels and competitors that are watering down the LEGO video industry. My son and I would rather watch people playing video games or shoving fireworks up their butts than videos reviewing LEGO sets. There is a general malaise and decreasing interest in anything that is not virtual and LEGO products have taken a hit in recent years. While The Brick Show might have had a certain amount of subscribers, if they are not active and watching, they are basically not making them any money. The world of LEGO is changing and it's not for the better...1 point

If you want to pile on and report a violation for your MH White House orders, you can use this link. I'm pretty sure he's being investigated, but hasn't been suspended yet. https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/200444420?referral=AP7C3Q0OHQWZ1_A1L25227P3JXTQ1 point

There was another JP set, I think 75931 that was also down to 25 so I got that, a 75932, and 12 playpens. I mean there is a truck load of those still there. My main risk would be the price being found as an error and rising back to regular price but from a quantity standpoint the store is still very much healthy.1 point

maybe this is old news or not. looks like every walmart has dropped instore price on elves breakout from goblin king fortress 41188 down to either $44 or $22. msrp is $69.99. at $22, its a no brainer. $44 i'm tempted. online price is still $55.99 so ymmv depending on store stock availability.1 point

I learned through 1987, 2001, and 2008 that it pays to focus on cash flow. It doesn't matter what the business is, if it's not generating tons of cash, it will collapse. I'm feeling very fortunate that I sold my last Bitcoin at $15,000 - that was pure luck and caution. Cryptos seem to have a lot in common with the legalized Cannabis industry. A whole lotta people are trying to capitalize on something that has all the value of a weed. I'm not saying there aren't some great ideas in Crypto, but the banks and corporations are developing their own blockchain solutions. It's sorta like growing your own weed, no? I don't mean to be a bummer. It's just that I've been watching the total crypto market cap drop from $800,000,000,000 in December to where it is today at $259,000,000,000. When this happened in 2001 a lot of hopeful speculators asked "How low can it go????". The answer was ZERO.1 point

Insulting a fellow BPer publicly seems a bit low too, whether you agree with them or not. Maybe time for a mod to mop up the aisle?1 point

While this is a perk of owning your own business, you will soon figure out that owning your own business is a prison with no walls. At some point, you will have to answer to employees or customers and kiss their asses for your own well being. Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown...1 point

Seems like a way to get a Sandcrawler out for mass release to the kids. Not a lot of parents would spend over $300 on a vehicle that appears in a 40 year old movie for about 5 minutes.1 point

I would not hesitate to sell that immediately. No one ever goes broke making a profit.1 point

I thought about taking my kids there one last time but now I don't want that moment to stick in their memories. That's depressing.1 point

As crappy as they were, I'm going to miss them. They were a big part of my childhood and my kids loved it when I took them there...even when I didn't buy them anything. haha1 point

I predict Kathleen Kennedy being removed and their plans being reset when a replacement or Disney direction is chosen.1 point

Personally I'm ok with stickers if it keeps the price of the set down. Lego jacked the prices of the modular series up because collectors demanded prints. But I think anything priced over $250 should have printed pieces just because.1 point

His feedback is 1, so a new seller. I informed them that on the 21st I will need to get eBay to settle the case as we were unable to come to a resolution. The response back was "SALE IS FINAL!". I'm just going to let him believe "no returns" means "no returns", and look forward to the response I get when eBay provides me a shipping label and a refund out of his pocket.1 point
