I enjoyed the movie. I think this and Rogue One are decidedly better than the new trilogy movies. They look and feel like SW to me and I thought Glover and some of the other cameos and easter eggs were fantastic. I saw a 100% filled theater for the 7pm XD premiere and most of the people clapped at the end. I might check it out one more time in the theater and will definitely pick up the blu ray.4 points

So I finally stopped by my local Toys R Us yesterday to see the amazing deals... and most of the shelves were still packed. I quickly found out why as nearly all of the premium brands were severely marked up in price. My favorites were the $19.99 Super Hero Mighty Micros, and the 50+ 75155 U Wings marked at $109.99. I decided to ask a manager what was up with the prices. I showed them the U-Wing on the Lego SAH site and let them know the MSRP was $79.99. The manager started yelling "THE PRICE ON THE SHELF IS THE PRICE LEGO SOLD IT TO US AT!!!!! WE ARE TAKING A LOSS AT 30% OFF SO BE GRATEFUL!!!". I did a little facepalm and headed towards the door. Now this is a store I have never had an issue at. I guess emotions are high strung trying to maximize profit while tricking the fools into believing they are getting a deal. It was clear why so many people were walking out of there without buying anything.4 points

I would have been fine with Disney recasting Luke, Leia, Han and the whole group if they would have just made the Timothy Zahn trilogy into episodes 7, 8, and 9.4 points

Don't worry, Rian Johnson is going to save the day with his incompetent and highly incoherent storytelling with a brand new trilogy. Plus, we have the Game of Thrones producers coming up with a trilogy on their own. With the announcement of the Boba Fett film (which i'm assuming will come around 2021 or 2022, I can't see how they won't resist having Han Solo in that film. The cross-over sounds like a shoe-in. Plus, they are signed up for 3 films, so that would take care of another one. I'd be ok with a few more of these films with Han and Lando making appearances. It's pretty evident they are going to be like Marvel now, where we will have a lot of spinoff standalone films, but characters crossing over and being in those films. I'm ok with that as long as the films are good, and can stand on their own account.3 points

Said this in the Solo thread but will repeat it here. Please rest the Skywalker films after 9. Give me more SW Story films. I want films in this universe. I want to see other corners of the universe. I’m fine if it’s with familiar characters. But give me something different, stand-alone, overarching thread - very Marvel films like.3 points

I liked it. The kid was great. Even though he really didn’t look or sound like Harrison Ford, I was able to overlook that and enjoy the film quite a bit. Chewy was great and as always, the Falcon delivered. Quality characters. Not much BS or fluff. Kept me entertained and explained a lot. Better than many other STAR WARS movies IMO.3 points

Is it just me, or does Shelob from 2012 look much better than Aragog from 2018 ? Speaking of quality inflation...2 points

Milk the cow dry, put it in a vault for 6 years, rinse repeat Boba Fett is overrated anyway ?2 points

Yes, and I think they should stop going to the well. I'm ready for new Star Wars movies, with characters that have nothing to do with the Skywalker timeline.2 points

Sure I will add one... Ed and I just finished seeing the movie. Personally I thought the move was very good. Much better than some of the others. I thought the kid did a great job and deserves more praise than bashing. It was a tall order to fill and I think he performed the role with respect. Nothing really negative to say about it at all right now. Update... Here is a link to the Spoiler Thread if you are member of the Movie Club and want to chat about the movie.. https://community.brickpicker.com/forums/topic/19227-the-i-have-seen-solo-and-want-to-talk-about-it-thread/2 points

Hate to say it, but this is how the entire Jurassic World theme should have been done. Just a 70 piece set with a dino.1 point

i thought they could’ve combined the solo movie and the boba fett movie into one. in the original trilogy han solo appeared to know who boba fett was, so maybe they had some history. and as for knowing fetts death already, maybe we don’t. in the old extended universe he escaped the sarlacc. this new movie could take place after return of the jedi.1 point

This. We already know his demise, so even if they build him up to be some total badass in his standalone film, we already know his origin and death. What else could they possibly reveal? This is one instance that the Prequels did just the right amount of explaining.1 point

I had this exact same conversation with my son yesterday. I told him I wish they wouldn't have continued the Skywalker saga with 7,8, and 9. Episodes 4,5, and 6 were all about Luke's journey and 7/8 didn't add much to that at all. He didn't even speak in 7 and 8 didn't honor the character we came to love. His response: "I THOUGHT LAST JEDI WAS GREAT!!!"1 point

The source says 500 only. 100 of that is distributed by a Belgian toy store via gambling, availability of the rest is unknown. I already hate this so much.1 point

I don’t think it’s the quantity of movies or shows out there. Look what they are doing with the Marvel Universe, and they are killing it. It’s more about the quality. Many people just aren’t loving them all, so it feels like too much.1 point

LEGO Mosaic Maker Coming to the United States The LEGO Mosaic Maker has been pretty popular in the UK, Europe, and more recently in Asia and now it will be making its way to the United States. If you’re not familiar with the Mosaic Maker, it’s basically a machine that captures an image of you and you’ll be able to get printed instructions and bricks for your LEGO portrait.1 point

Love this. Might have to try and rework the neck but this looks great. The beige stonework and body look spot on next to the real-life picture. Have always wanted the larger model but this looks like a great alternative1 point
