Unloaded 50 x 75119 Jyn Erso for $500 cash local. Got them at $1 each from Wal-Mart clearance. Had a post up on Craigslist for months and someone bit. I assume he's forwarding it somewhere....but once my cash marker verified the bills were real, it didn't matter if he's reselling it or grinding them up to snort. Down to just one. I've donated more of these than I'd like to admit. Had a Salvation Army Santa tell me once "that is a cruel gift to give to children... go see if Krampus has a donation bin"4 points

I saw it at the midnight showing earlier today. The theatre was about 1/4 full, although we were in the 2D screening so there may have been more people in the other screenings. I enjoyed it. Much, much better than The Last Jedi (which I really disliked). Visually and tonally it's pretty similar to Rogue One, although more light-hearted. I'd say that if you liked RO then you'd probably enjoy this. The cast was all solid, although Lando was in it less than I expected. The Han and Chewie relationship was probably the best thing for me. There were some nice touches of humour, although some of it did fall flat. Thankfully there was no RJ-inspired slapstick. I was a little worried in the first ten or fifteen minutes that the movie wasn't going to work for me, given some odd character and dialogue choices, but after that things seemed to click into gear. I found it dragged a little between set pieces, although that's probably because I'm not used to the pacing of it. I had a similar issue with RO until I'd seen that a few times. There were no major shocks or surprises, or things you can't see coming a mile off, with the exception of something right at the end which really comes out of left field. Would I see it again? Possibly once more in the cinema, otherwise I'll just wait for the Blu-Ray. Maybe I'd have been a little more enthusiastic if my reaction to TLJ hadn't been so deflating. Interesting to note that, yet again, there are scenes from the trailers that haven't made their way into the movie. I won't say which ones of course! Question for mods: Is there going to be a thread in the Movie & TV Talk forum for discussion of the movie with spoilers?2 points

On the first look I also wasn't convinced of this set after that image, but it grew on me a bit, today though the backside of the set appeared and that looks a lot better: Remains to be seen what it contains in actual "Technic-"functions and features but based on the second picture I'm sold on the looks.2 points

As much as I'll admit the porg build is quite clever and I think it uniquely captures the porg, I see absolutely no purpose to the porgs in the Star Wars universe other than Disney saying, "We need a pet of some kind. Something that wins the hearts of animal lovers out there." There are a lot of haters on the Ewoks but at least they served a purpose in the SW story line. Oh, no. You don't suppose the porgs are really force-sensitive creatures who will help train Rey, do you?! I'm almost sorry I thought of that.2 points

On eBay. Seller accepted the offer of $500 shipped. Seller didn't realize their incredibly vague title of "Multiple Lego Sets" was why the listing had zero interest. All instructions included. Boxes included outside of the SSD. I figure I can flip the other 4 sets and make this a very reasonably priced SSD.2 points

LEGO Mosaic Maker Coming to the United States The LEGO Mosaic Maker has been pretty popular in the UK, Europe, and more recently in Asia and now it will be making its way to the United States. If you’re not familiar with the Mosaic Maker, it’s basically a machine that captures an image of you and you’ll be able to get printed instructions and bricks for your LEGO portrait.1 point

Binge watched it last weekend and I thought it was excellent. I boycotted it initially, as I do with most remakes. After all the positive reviews, I had to check it out. Well worth it!1 point

When there isn't enough valid data from the sources it pulls from on eBay and Amazon, it uses a random number generator to set a value in order to lure folks in. It plays well to the "LEGO is a better investment than gold" narrative.1 point

I'm not sure how long this has been live, but I see a new item on the Costco.ca site: https://www.costco.ca/LEGO®-minifigures-Party%3a-Assorted-Minifigures-Series-18.product.100407781.html A full case of 60 minifigures for Series 18 @ $159.99 If you haven't used the Masterpass promo, you could get it down to $139.99 So either $2.67/ea or $2.33/ea1 point

I'm probably doing it all wrong. Bought resistance bombers at 80, walkers at 109, bountys at 108, and silent marys at 140. All minty boxes. South cali stores make a bit hard for me to wait for the next round of markdowns. Will wait for the next markdown on some city stuff. Not hopeful stuff will last with the holiday weekend approaching though. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Brickpicker Forum mobile app1 point

Well, now the UCS catch up list is sitting at a cool 1 item. Rolling the dice. Listing says the sets are complete and if nothing else the images show the rare parts are all there. 7191 X-Wing and 10212 Imperial Shuttle for $332.99 Clearly parts of an AT-AT (8129) in there as well, as well as small pieces of 10221... I guess in case my last purchase goes awry.1 point

I binge watched Cobra Kai (ie Karate Kid the series) over the weekend. This is how sequel/spin off should be done, WITH RESPECT. It is a great take on the characters 30 years after the movies, so we get to see old rivalries and new ones. Johnny and Daniel are not treated like some 2nd rate cameos, they are big parts of the show. Plus the show introduces new characters with personalities, whom audience can root for. Oh and the new characters are as diverse as they come, but the show does not beat over audience' heads with it The show also has several callbacks to the original movies, some are obvious and others not so much. Most are used to move the story forward. Is it perfect? No, but it is easier to overlook flaws when the show treats its characters and the audience with respect (unlike that other franchise from galaxy far far away ). Seriously, the new series can poke fun at the old movies (or even at itself), just do not poop on everyone's nostalgia. Ep 1 & 2 are free, the rest needs subscription but you can cancel in 30 days if you choose to1 point

if i was a kid getting one of these “blind bags” i would be extremely disappointed if i got the lame policeman figure. we’re doing children a favor by removing it from the box for them! i’ve been able to disarm 2 boxes and make them safe for the kids already, and i hope to find more before they ruin a child’s day.1 point
