got this great lot for $200 today. the lady was selling her 17 yr old sons collection because “he doesn’t do lego anymore”. the architecture sets were listed by name in the ad, and it also said “lego biplane” and “lego train” it was hard to see in the pic, but i zoomed in and saw what appeared to be an emerald night, and i was right. she even gave me the tote!14 points

A good looking little promo. Should pair well with the already released VIP promo polybag. Will fit nicely into a city. Pick a brick wall looks nicely done. Since it's not an expensive UCS set, we can assume that these are all printed tiles and not stickers. Any guesses on what the spending threshold will be on this one? I'm thinking $12510 points

Got my box a couple days ago, gave all the minifigures out to a couple school classes, kids were thrilled. I know it's all about money and profit around here, but it's nice to see kids with genuine smiles and no strings attached.3 points

The VIP polybag had stickers. i bought the UCS snowspeeder and it has 35 stickers. That's unacceptable! i bought my son a £4 duplo set. It had 6 bricks and two of those had detailed printing with one have printing on both sides. So if a £4 set can have 3 printed sides then there's no excuse to ever use stickers... the argument about the cost is BS.2 points

**UPDATE** It's been a long road, but here is my latest update. Unfortunately, the prosecutor decided to offer the thief a "proffer" which basically gives him amnesty from prosecution if he admits to the crime and returns the stolen property as restitution. This was definitely against my wishes as well as the detectives from both police departments involved. The thief admitted to the crime, returned 118 of the 390 sets that were stolen (and none of the thousands of individual minifigures). I just picked up the remaining inventory from the Police Property office today, and will start to look through everything and see what I can keep to build or sell off. I struck a deal with the insurance company to purchase the returned inventory for about 30% of the value of the sets (based on the original claim value). Obviously most of these sets have gone up in value since the theft, but the box conditions will probably knock some value off the high end. I've been doing some research into filing a civil suit against him to recover more of the lost value of the stolen and sold sets, but the cost of litigation might be too great. Plus, he is a career criminal and even when I am awarded a judgement (he already admitted to doing the crime) I don't think I want someone in debt to me for the next 10+ years making small payments. The ray of hope? The same thief is under investigation for a violent home invasion charge, which would get him 20 years in jail. The detectives hope to get him on that charge and make it stick. Side note: some of the returned sets were already boxed up to ship USPS Priority Mail with the sender information listed as Blooming Earlier Bricks. A quick check showed he had a Brick Link account, but the detectives said he was selling a lot of stuff on Ebay as well.2 points

Great display! I think you should put Brick Suit Guy and Brick Suit Girl next to classic police man, though.1 point

Dagnabbit.. i'm not going to be able to bring my basket, and beat my record smoothing rate of 1 smoosh every 8 seconds. Time is money, and this set is going to break the bank.1 point

15% just isn’t enough of a discount for me to make the drive. Would rather buy on Lego.com and get gift with purchases and VIP points.1 point

Walmart has the Ship in a Bottle on rollback for $59.88. Not a crazy deal, but it might be worth picking one up for a personal build.1 point

Slowly knocking down my retired UCS/Modular list. I have a toddler and another due in a few weeks, so I have forever to be patient and wait for my prices since it will be years before I ever have time to build anything. No box, instructions, or sticker. Missing/replaced pieces noted below. Seller states 100% LEGO, so an easy SNAD case if necessary. But someone trying to scam does nothing for themselves by stating it's 100% LEGO and compiling a missing parts list. Seller has a history selling LEGO, and good feedback, so I'm not too concerned. Already have a bricklink cart loaded with the missing parts listed for when/if this arrives as described.1 point

I have been ordering the collectable minifigures from MinigurePlus since the time when Serials 9 came out. It has always been great experience doing business with them. Both Linda & John are great and very helpful. One time I received 2 repetitive minifigures while missing another one. They shipped out the replacement figure right away once I reached out to them, even included a returning envelop with postage. Since purchasing the full sets from them, I don't need to worry about not being able to complete a set - they help make collecting the figures so much easier. From my personal experience, they may not be the fastest, but they are probably a most countable store that offers the full set pre-order or not. Keep it up!1 point

Ordered the UCS Falcon today. Had been trying to catch one at AWD, but was always too slow (darn work). 2x VIP points and the free BB-8 were good enough incentive for me for something for a personal build. Plus, my husband is FINALLY graduating with his last degree (MD) tomorrow, so this is my gift to myself for surviving along with him. ?1 point

I have my LEGO boobietrapped - If anyone removes the wrong set, my investment in those Death Stars will finally pay off.1 point

I provided them an inventory list (from Brickfolio actually) that we then had to enter into an online content collaboration program. They didn't ask for receipts, but I did have photos of the inventory from just a few weeks before and I think that went a long way. They did mention when we were finalizing my claim payment that normally they would require receipts to show proof of purchase.1 point

UPDATE! So I received a call from my insurance company the other day. The police arrested a guy for breaking & entering, and when they searched his property, they found "a lot of Lego sets". One detective was having lunch with my detective and casually mentioned the find, and he remembered my case from 2016 and they interrogated the suspect. He totally admitted meeting me on Craigslist, bought a few sets from me, and then came back to my warehouse to commit the robbery. He was able to back a cargo truck up to the loading door and spend several hours loading up. The replacement value at the time was $39k. I am so relieved they caught the guy, and now I'm waiting to hear from the police so I can go see what is left from the theft (they say there is A LOT). Next step will be to strike a deal with the insurance company to purchase everything back (at a salvage rate of course). They are willing to give me the right of refusal so I can recover all or some of it. I'll update once I see what is left and what we can work out. Just a reminder to everyone who can learn from my ignorance & innocence: never let anyone into the inner sanctum. Since the theft, we treat the warehouse like Willy Wonka's factory : no comes in, no one goes out. We even have a visual barrier separating the storeroom area from being seen by UPS and FedEx drivers. As far as Craigslist goes, I've only tried to sell a handful of larger items (new MF for example) with the stipulation that the transaction takes place at the local police department, and I haven't had a taker yet.1 point

Got this today, sealed $60. Lady said she bought it for her grandson about 4 years ago but he didn't have any interest in it, only wants to play video games.1 point

I have a buddy that is also into Lego investing/collecting. We have a saying that we use for our best hauls. "Cake taker". As in it "takes the cake", as in the best deal one of us ever found. There's been some good ones in the past: my ucs r2 I found for $7, a green grocer I got in a lot for $60... but today's is the new "cake taker". Last night I saw on fb a lot for $60. First pic showed a three drawer tote filled with random pieces and chunks, second pic showed a large tote with what was clear to me to be a cafe corner. The listing had only been up for less than an hour so I messaged the seller, and we set up a meeting for this morning. Thankfully after we talked, she marked it as sold so nobody tried to snipe it from me. So I show up this morning, I hand over the $60, and I start carrying over the tote with the cc to my truck. I glance down and see a green grocer under the cafe! With half a pet shop attached to it! I load it all up and drive home to check it all out. Cc and gg appear to be complete. I didn't find the other half of the pet shop, but it may just be fully taken apart in the bins. Lots of other neat stuff including a lot of parts (hopefully complete)to the town plan set, a large Vikings set, city garage and firehouse. And to top it all off, if you look above this post, you'll see last week I got a lot with a black pearl. That black pearl was complete, except for one piece...the skull flag in top. Well by some crazy coincidence I found that flag (and a jack sparrow fig) in today's lot! No instructions in this lot, as dusty as all get out, but I'm not complaining.1 point
