  1. Ordered the UCS Falcon today. Had been trying to catch one at AWD, but was always too slow (darn work). 2x VIP points and the free BB-8 were good enough incentive for me for something for a personal build. Plus, my husband is FINALLY graduating with his last degree (MD) tomorrow, so this is my gift to myself for surviving along with him. ?

  2. Haha future generation will not be hanging pictures or posters on their walls. They will have a huge ass electronic display built into the walls that will just display whatever the owner's desire.

  5. You can never satisfy everyone. There will always be some that just ***** and complain about everything. This is a mighty fine set and will do well if LEGO continue with these stunning theme park rides. Def creates a different fan base than just modulars and Star Wars UCS.

  7. Business Account Fuzzy is the best source right now. I have it in my wishlist, but I haven’t noticed the AWD listed under other sellers.

  9. Hey all. New here and really amazed at the site. I saw a link to this site from a discussion about insurance of/for Lego collections. So i'm not so much a reseller as a collector. I don't even know if I'm an investor. I have a lot of sets from when I was younger. Late 60's through mid/late 70's. I got back into Lego last year when we were at Costco doing some shopping. They had a Lego set, I think it was from The Lego Batman Movie. Decided to buy it as the cost was decent. I've since watched the movie and as a result bought sets related to the movie. That first set at Costco has, of course, brought back the fun of Lego. I've probably spent more than I should have in the last few months but dang, it's fun to build stuff! My daughter graduated from college a little over a year ago so her old room is on its was to becoming my Lego room. Very slowly though.

  10. Putting inventory up for sale before physically having that inventory for sale is pretty much the definition of too early, yes. As bad as ebay sellers putting up 'pre-orders' for the UCS Falcon, or in last week's case the UCS Y-Wing. My own 2 cents, no disrespect meant, but i think that's a shady business practice. Don't sell something unless you have the something to actually sell.

  11. this bottom table should have at least. 35cm width 40cm long normally would be 45cm+ but MF can stand without middle front landing gear. translate those numbers into inches yourself. yw.

  12. One of the early Brook Johnson videos on the Brickpicker homepage has a video comparing the various forums for selling sets. If you can get comfortable with doing Craigslist where there is cash transactions, that would be good, but can be a small market and probably pretty slow. Plus, make sure to never do the transaction where you are currently storing the sets. Ebay you'll be dealing with 11% fees and 3% Paypal fees and all of the shipping costs. Creating quality listings takes time. With the option for 7-day auctions, you can sell them in a short period of time. Do your due diligence though and click on the "sold listings" box and sort by 'Recent first' to see trends for their current going price, method it sells by (auction vs. buy-it-now), and how often it sells. Your average AFOL isn't necessarily looking for a set from the 1990s, so be careful about setting up auctions for some sets. Also, pay attention to what the starting price was, green grocers may get bidding wars that will allow you to start an auction at $.99, but other sets might get 1 watcher/buyer and you'll want to set the starting bid of those sets closer to the lowest sale price you'd be willing to tolerate. Buy-it-now can be extremely slow, but you may want to consider that for sets that don't sell very often. Look for selling advice about best times to start/end auctions. Amazon isn't an option since a lot of us are gated out of selling LEGO on their site. Bricklink is low risk and low fees (structured fees based on sale price + 3% Paypal fees). If you're selling new, sealed sets, setting up a store and listing them is relatively quick and easy. The site attracts other AFOLs and with a little caution to vet buyers with low reputation you can be reasonably confident that you're selling to serious buyers. But it can be slow. I haven't had much luck selling sets that way, but I'm mostly geared toward ebay sales for complete sets. Finally, for any of these methods, you get to deduct the fees, shipping supplies, postage, storage costs, etc. from the sales you report. If the value could be significant, and you sell via Ebay or Bricklink with Paypal transactions, you might want to just go ahead and register your username as a sole proprietor business with the IRS and your state tax administration.

  13. This might be the best set i've ever seen. I just haven't been paying attention to the new stuff coming out of late, but THIS SET IS FREAKING INCREDIBLE! This is definitely a set that is going under the tree for me...err my son!

  16. Quick Update. Poster is a regular A4 format made of quality gradient paper. Same as for Star Wars Posters and Hulkbuster. THEY DON'T STACK PROMOS in stores which is a huge let down. They've got an email last evening informing them to remove the Vader Pods from the stores so nothing from leftovers will be distributed with current promos related to qualifying purchase. You can get only BB-8 and nothing else. 75192 is covered with Double Vip points. - confirmed. Black VIP card holders will receive poster with any qualifying purchase above 35GBP. Anyone else will get a Poster with Y-Wing Purchase. Hope this helps.

  17. I remember having a visit to an orthodontist during my high school years being a good twenty minutes early with only one other parent and their child in the waiting room both of whom were already there close to an hour before us still waiting well past their own appointment. We stayed there about two hours before leaving. I can't recall but I think it may have been a week at least (probably longer) before we got a call from them about missing the appointment and that we should call back to setup a new one. Yeah I don't think so.

  22. While not technically a set I bought, or even a set, I was given this great Lego investing book, written by two well-known Brick Pickers, by one of my cousins who is also as fanatical about Lego as I am. It was great to talk to someone who knows what a light bluish 2x10 plate without me giving a very confused look. The book furthered my love of castles, space sets, and the Pirate theme. My wife seems to be very worried for some reason…

  24. @oneknightr I’m pleased with the AWD UCS Falcon I received. Only a couple small blemishes that are pictured. It was shipped double-boxed in the factory container. All seals intact, no AWD stickers, and I’m not even sure if the factory container was opened.

  25. I just find hypocrites who complain about people buying LEGO to resell at some future date scalpers while simultaneously seeking out a short packed minifigure to trade for more desirable items to be funny/frustrating. It's just like scalping, but without money exchanging hands. I've seen it in every venue of toy collecting. I'd respect them more if they would admit what they are doing instead of acting like it's all fair. Hell, I buy stuff to resell it at a profit, sometimes immediately. OTOH I am not going to spend time searching for a policeman figure, because I can't believe that bubble will last longer than a minute. I have 50 old school police in various bulk bins at home. Where's my $25 for them?

  26. I don´t care much for the fairground theme, but once has to admit that the rollercoaster does everything it should. It is functional and the cars don´t get stuck. Size and scale looks good too. I guess the good folk are just saturated with big Lego sets these days - 5 years ago people would have been dreaming about this.

  28. I just got this email myself. That R2-D2, while at first glance very much impressed me, it struck me too that ONE person out of how many? 10,000? will win this... maybe. If this is LEGO's idea of perks throughout the year, they should have said, "You MIGHT get a perk next year." The second sad thought I had was; IF I were to win this, would I be able to afford the taxes Uncle Sam will make me pay for winning it. *sigh*

  29. Since the Black Card debacle I haven't Day One'd a single set Lego has released. I'll be more patient and wait for discounts. It's not a conscious active protest it's just that the debacle has taken a little bit of wind out of my sails when it comes to the excitement of new releases. Last year I purchased 9 releases on day 1. Bit of an own goal for Lego marketing there.

  32. Ninjago sets from a 90+ set purchase from a few weeks ago. No parts or minifigs were missing on these There were also some smaller Ninjago sets and a 9445 is missing 1 minifig. Thankfully I sold most of the Mega Blok in the lot for $155 to help offset the $175 buy-in. Next up from this lot are the large Star Wars sets.

  33. It had a story I was very interested in, until they created another Death Star for TFA. I’m still a fan of Rogue One, flowed well, not too hokey, the battle at the end was fantastic, Tarkin was great, and it was fun to learn about Stardust.
