@oneknightr I’m pleased with the AWD UCS Falcon I received. Only a couple small blemishes that are pictured. It was shipped double-boxed in the factory container. All seals intact, no AWD stickers, and I’m not even sure if the factory container was opened.

When the doctors office tells you to come 10 minutes early for an appointment, and you wait 20+ minutes to be seen.

It's really easy. First you have to become hopelessly addicted to Class A drugs - meth, or heroine should do it. Second - run, don't walk.

While not technically a set I bought, or even a set, I was given this great Lego investing book, written by two well-known Brick Pickers, by one of my cousins who is also as fanatical about Lego as I am. It was great to talk to someone who knows what a light bluish 2x10 plate without me giving a very confused look. The book furthered my love of castles, space sets, and the Pirate theme. My wife seems to be very worried for some reason…

I just find hypocrites who complain about people buying LEGO to resell at some future date scalpers while simultaneously seeking out a short packed minifigure to trade for more desirable items to be funny/frustrating. It's just like scalping, but without money exchanging hands. I've seen it in every venue of toy collecting. I'd respect them more if they would admit what they are doing instead of acting like it's all fair. Hell, I buy stuff to resell it at a profit, sometimes immediately. OTOH I am not going to spend time searching for a policeman figure, because I can't believe that bubble will last longer than a minute. I have 50 old school police in various bulk bins at home. Where's my $25 for them?

I feel like there's going to be a lot of eventual buyer's remorse from people paying over the odds for that figure. It amuses me to see all the self righteous "Scalping is bad" posters on various sites wanting big trades for this figure. "I'll trade my Policeman for Revan."

This one doesn't count. Even LEGO feel ashamed by releasing this thing.

True. not gonna lie, series 18 was by far the worst. I went to a local bookstore who had just recently received boxes of Series 18 and when I went to see if I can find one in the box, all I saw was one box opened dug through and rightfully so, but what really infuriated me was the 5 other sealed boxes behind the counter with a note saying the policeman was already reserved.

No, STEALING or illegally acquiring anything to sell for a profit is something a loser would do. Big difference. Not that there is anything worth getting arrested for, but that is pretty much rock bottom.

I have one being delivered today that was "Like New", so I'll let you know what I get.

We have a thread where people have shared their experience, but basically it's a crap shoot regardless of their "grading".

The couple sets I've ordered have been the latter - original packaging altogether (sealed bags), damaged outer box.

When I buy something online and it arrives damaged - I send it straight back Return to Sender. Making an insurance claim, negotiating a lower price - not interested / not my problem. When I sell, and the buyer claims it's damage - I tell them to do the same - it's not their problem.

I see where you're going with this but there's no hiding that this is roller coaster track. Also it will take a bit of engineering to motorize the cars. Naysayers argue against the benefits of the original Lego monorail system but I'll say that it was ahead of it's time. The monorail system track is 4 studs wide which is perfect for incorporating into Lego City layouts. The current train system is too big IMO. Size wise this roller coaster track is perfect but I'm not sure Lego is interested in modifying it to incorporate a motorized tram. Now, what will be cool is seeing the first Space Mountain MOC!

I'm convinced there's someone in my area doing the same thing, its the only way I can explain ghost stock of 10-15 items at some local Walmarts and Targets.
