It's really easy. First you have to become hopelessly addicted to Class A drugs - meth, or heroine should do it. Second - run, don't walk.3 points

Which one of you is this? http://www.ladbible.com/news/weird-man-arrested-after-50000-of-stolen-lego-found-at-his-house-20180502 A man was arrested in Portland, Oregon last Thursday after having been found to have $50,000 (£37,000) worth of stolen Lego in his house. 40-year-old Raji Afife Azar stands accused of stealing huge amounts of Lego and then selling them on at a huge mark-up online. He was finally arrested after he allegedly bought about $13,000 (£9,600) worth of stolen toys from undercover investigators, according to a report on local TV station KGW8. Credit: Portland Police Bureau He was also under investigation by the retail theft department of a supermarket that had identified him as the head of the illegal Lego ring, between the two forces they closed the net around him and managed to build a case. After police searched his home in the south of Portland they found a massive haul of Lego sets that were stolen from local branches of the supermarket Fred Meyer. Azar is thought to have been using a network of thieves - many of whom are addicted to drugs - to steal the toy sets after meeting up with them and arranging the thefts on sites such as Craigslist. He would then get the stolen Lego from them and buy them for less than their sale price, before selling them online for much more than that. Credit: Portland Police Bureau Basically, it's the perfect crime. Lego is basically untraceable and sells very quickly. It is also expensive and collectable, meaning that there is fast money to be made if you can get your hands on the right sets. Certain Lego sets can sell for upwards of $1,000 (£735). Sets of Lego also have no serial numbers, making it very difficult to tell if it has been stolen or not. The Portland police issued a statement warning buyers to beware of things that are being sold as new online for a significantly lower price than retail. It read: "Investigators remind anyone purchasing items from a non-retail location to be aware of items sold as 'new' or in unopened packages with prices that seem too good to be true - the items may be stolen," Credit: Portland Police Bureau They added: "As part of Azar's fencing operation, people who often times suffered from addiction to opioids and other drugs would enter stores and steal items to sell to Azar. "Azar would in turn buy the stolen merchandise for a small percentage of the items' actual worth and sell the stolen merchandise at a large profit for himself." Azar has been charged with first degree theft, computer crimes, and laundering a monetary instrument. Featured Image Credit: PA2 points

I'm convinced there's someone in my area doing the same thing, its the only way I can explain ghost stock of 10-15 items at some local Walmarts and Targets.1 point

I wonder how quickly Fred Meyer caught on. Assuming most of this came from there I'm sure they'd be able to see missing inventory in their numbers pretty quickly.1 point

We sell our Lego on an amazon personal account. We are in Oregon so don’t have to collect for Oregon customers since it is a sales tax free state but technically we are supposed to collect for customersin states where our inventory is kept in fba warehouses. We don’t worry about it if the day ever comes we will just pay the penalties and interest and not give it a second thought. I highly doubt any of your customers are self reporting their internet purchases tho lol. Each state has very complex requirements so hopefully they all sort out some uniform rules but the us govt has been broken for a long time so I’m not holding my breath.1 point

I have always reported the obvious ones (non-business Amazon/Ebay purchases). It's always just a few dollars, and I figure that IF they are going to crack down, they will first go after the people who claim they didn't make _any_ online purchases before they go after people who have always declared some1 point

This is LEGO's best designer video to date. It feels like an actual designer video instead of just a commercial narrated by the designer. Although at some times still a bit goofy for my taste (those SW poses with the lightsabers... no thanks).1 point

All my orders with you guys in the past have been great. I don’t always order but when I do, it’s been fantastic (sometimes I like to smoosh instead of having it served up to me). To anyone waiting - be patient. You are ordering these at a great cost considering all you have to do is be patient and they show up. No smooshing. No being concerned about missing anything. I ordered Batman Series 2 from them and anything was fine. I smooshed Ninjago because I only wanted a few. And I smooshed series 18 because I wanted to. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from these guys in the future tho.1 point

Ninjago sets from a 90+ set purchase from a few weeks ago. No parts or minifigs were missing on these There were also some smaller Ninjago sets and a 9445 is missing 1 minifig. Thankfully I sold most of the Mega Blok in the lot for $155 to help offset the $175 buy-in. Next up from this lot are the large Star Wars sets.1 point

Admittedly Craigslist has a lower bar, but that reminds me of a post I responded to there. “LEGOS FOR SALE CHEAP ONE BIN $50” No pictures. I respond to the listing, asking for photos. Response: “Oh my GOD, they’re LEGOS. I need to get some DINNER. Bye”1 point

Drivers who back into parking places in crowded parking areas such as churches, parking garages and yes, Walmarts, who take 20 seconds or more to park, only to have to pull back out and then back in to straighten the vehicle. Going straight from winter to summer weather with no spring in between. This year has been better with a cool spring in the East. Impossible to open pet poop bags. Neighbors who park in front of our home when there are plenty of places to park on the other side of the street. Kids who wake up before 7 AM on weekends. Missing out on website pricing errors such as Target, Amazon, and Walmart. Happy for those, however, who get their orders in and delivered!1 point

Openly. To quote Ferris Bueller, “if you shoves a piece of coal up his ass in 3 weeks you’d have a diamond.” 3P0 is in denial.1 point

Just sold the last of my Megabloks COD tanks I picked up a couple of years ago at £15 each, bundled with a couple of figs sold at £50. Also finished selling off my DC girls, buy in for most was at 50% and I’ve been doing bundles at around retail. Last bundle of 41234, 41235, 41231, 41233 sold at £60 buy in £32. Wish I bought more. All gone in 9 months at prices roughly double my buy in, with negligible fees. Continuing to kick out my £20 75902: The Mystery Machine with 2 series 14 figs for £55. Slower mover with the figs than without, but it’s a better margin and I’m almost out of MM’s (8 or 9 left) Same for 75052: Mos Eisley Cantina + Droid combos at between £100 - £110, buy in £50. Almost out of these too. 75112-1: General Grievous + 75111-1: Darth Vader combos at retail (£50) buy in £25. I think these will go higher, but I have so many I need to re-balance Couple of 41179-1: Queen Dragon's Rescue at £90, buy in £36 and a couple of 70593: The Green NRG Dragon £50 – buyin £20 And I finished moving my £70 75105-1: Millennium Falcon – for between £125-£130. All ebay, inclusive of shipping. Pricing is probably a little lower than expected but ebay fees have been pretty much none existent recently. I paid £38 fees for £3,700 sales in March, so I’m just moving the stock.1 point

Awesome news and post. I love that you've always been able to joke about it. I'm both happy for you and yet feeling left behind. I only bought 16 or so, probably the most I bought of any set thinking they were really cool and sure to be winners. Seeing them not shoot up in value as expected, I always justified it by saying, "well, at least I'm not the one stuck with XX of them!" Now you've passed on the torch of being "that guy."1 point
