Great question. They actually rebooted the entire series. It's not just looks. My daughter started listing different characters and how one is now an athlete but apparently used to be an artist. And another was an artist but is now something else. Several swapped hair color. One was a red head, now is blond, the blond is now black, etc. I never paid much attention to the specific characters so when she started listing the differences, which were quite a few, I was surprised at how much LEGO actually changed. It wasn't just a diversity (nationality) thing, they completely changed the entire series. If they had begun the characters like they're doing right now, I'm sure my daughter would be fine with them. But they completely rebooted the entire series. I'm sure it'll be fine, maybe even better in a few years. But they are loosing a few fans right now to get to this new focus. BTW, I gave examples, please do not read my examples as the actual details because quite frankly my daughter started rattling off changes and my mind blurred. lol Hopefully, you get the point though.4 points

One of my friends brought these back from Billund, Denmark for me and I wanted something that had the Lego House logo on it. Got one for each member of the family, except for the dog of course. I did not think he would be as excited as the rest of us. Sorry doggie! Unfettered minifigures were only available with actual sets.2 points

It should. I did a an in-store pick up and got the 25% off. As a bonus, if you spend $50+ on an in-store pick up you should get a $10 off coupon.1 point

Plus, without the prequels we wouldn't have had the clone wars (tv series) - which was great. We also would never have had the characters (from the clone wars) brought in to save Rebels - which ended up being pretty good.1 point

So, my basket of Lego sets is currently worth €2137,44 compared to RRP €1700, a gain of €437,44 before fees and tax. My worst performing set was 31054 Blue Express. Bizarrely, 70366 Battle Suit Lance was one of my better performers! Will be interesting to see how it compares to Tabby´s basket of cryptos.1 point

I've got on good authority that the official reveal by LEGO will be on April 26th.1 point

Yep about $7 too high. They have the weight listed 3 lbs too heavy. Open a case and request a cubiscan and they will correct that.1 point

As best I can tell, from my kids watching it over the last few years, it really doesn't matter. There's no real continuity. The first few episodes that aired, everything was "LEGO-fied." Buildings and cars, and "stuff" all had LEGO studs, etc. on them. As the show progressed, though, it's cartoon versions of everything. Even the stuff that are sets, are cartooned versions of the sets. So instead of a very obvious LEGO studded rollercoaster, for example, it's just a stylized rollercoaster. Same exact design, colors, etc., just no studs, and not as blocky. Back to continuity, there's an episode where the Friends meet up with the Pop Star (Livi), and they become friends with her. And it's clearly the first time they've all met. But then there is a different episode where they encounter Livi for the first time, and Livi unknowingly steals a song they've written, and the girls end up on stage with her. And it's clearly the first time they've all met. I could be confusing that with the time they met Livi (again for the first time), and it was an American Idol like contest. Clearly, I've been paying more attention that I probably should to all of this. Awhile back. There's a short, fat, red-hair girl that was also somewhat obnoxious. She appeared in a couple of episodes.1 point

Creepy Geoffrey small set is making some good money right now. Makes me wish it wasn't so creepy and I stocked up more. I wouldn't have picked that for a money maker, so maybe that coupon will do the same.1 point

The prequels were worse than the sequels. Period....and George Lucas was responsible. Maybe there should be a rule that no movie franchise exceeds 3 movies.1 point

https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2018/01/pablo-hidalgo-sheds-more-light-on-george-lucass-influence-on-the-sequel-trilogy.html Prequels come out: "George Lucas is ruining Star Wars!" Sequels come out: "JJ Abrams/Rian Johnson are ruining Star Wars! Give it back to George Lucas!" Nobody hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans.1 point

I guess TLG took the risk of alienating some of the previous Friends fans but they would have mostly gone into their dark ages anyway. The new ones do look less picture perfect and the race track is an example of moving away from the traditional treehouse/pony/snackbar/beauty parlour lines that have been remade countless times.1 point

I would be all over the race sets for my daughter, except that with the changes LEGO has made to the characters, they lost my daughter's interest. She really loved the characters they had already developed (LEGO sets, cartoons, etc.) Her attitude is kind of like she's lost a friend. I was shocked when I recently took her to the LEGO store for her birthday and she didn't want a single friends set. She ended up getting an older set. She's only 10, so I guess we'll see what happens in the next year or so when the last of the previous sets hit EOL. I tried to explain the character diversity LEGO was going for, but my daughter didn't see it that way. She had fallen in love with the previous characters. Now they're all gone. So as of right now, LEGO has lost my daughter's interest in the entire friends theme.1 point
