A shut down R2-D2 is a more compelling character than Kylo Ren/Ben Solo.2 points

I heard a rumor that on May the 4th, all black card holders will be picked up in a life size Lego UCS Millennium Falcon and flown around the universe. Guess that’s the “BIG” perk of getting one of the cards.2 points

He's not the issue. Neither is Rey. The rest of the characters are so lame (besides Chewie). While I was being somewhat facetious with my R2 comment, I think they definitely could have utilized R2 and C-3PO much more than they did. A wasted opportunity in my opinion. They never failed to deliver in the Original Trilogy.1 point

Is it more or less likely that some entity or group will eventually purchase the TRU name and reopen using that name and the brand that was built around it in new locations, than that someone will step in and save extant stores that are in the process of depleting merchandise?1 point

I think it just comes down to compelling main characters. The LOTR had them...The Hobbit did not. Even though Gandalf was in both and a strong character, he could not make up for the lackluster dwarves. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli were much more interesting. Same with original STAR WARS crew. Han Solo was cool. Darth Vader was a bad ass. A young Princess Leia was tough and cute. Obi-Wan (Alec Guiness) was iconic. In these new movies, the old crew was just that...old. Besides Ridley, the new cast is annoying and forgettable.1 point

Everyone in that room except Rey and Kylo were dead. Somehow, I would expect killing someone who is unconscious would go against her moral compass. General Hux tells kylo that she took Snoke's own personal shuttle. So, she got off the ship, Chewie didn't land there. Where was the ship? well, it could have been in the hangar, or possibly near his throne room, who knows? As far as no one seeing the pickup, The Resistance was fleeing in little ships without really great equipment, and I would assume the First Order was very focused on damage control and not on a freighter that pops into the system to meet up with a shuttle and is not trying to approach them. I think that if I were going to complain about the space sequences, it would be the distinct lack of TIE Fighters attacking and defending in any of the space shots. I have complained frequently about Holdo sitting in the only ship with Shields strong enough to deflect the energy attacks and weapons, watching 2/3 of the remaining resistance ships getting blown out of the sky before deciding to do a suicide plan which should never have worked. If you recall in Rogue One, there were smaller ships that were just starting their run up to light speed that collided with Vader's Star Destroyer Devastator causing them to get crushed, and the Devastator gets no damage. She should have piloted the larger vessel between the fleeing ships and the oncoming fire, or gone on the attack, either option may have saved more Resistance personnel. Instead she let enough die that the entire remaining personnel could fit in the Falcon. All of that said. I don't understand the hate for the movie. I mean seriously, no Star Wars movie is objectively a great movie. They are all pulp with nonsense scattered about. Maybe I am able to disengage enough to actually have fun no matter.1 point

I've never had an interest in Modulars. But thanks to Target's pricing error, I got a look at Assembly Square and decided "these look nice, I need to have them all"... which seemed like a terrible life decision at the time... so I followed my norm and walked down that path. Thankfully my very detailed saved search strings and alerts on eBay helped me find these gems at what I would consider good prices. No boxes, but otherwise complete. That large stack of Assembly Squares has supplemented another hording epidemic. Seller was dumping her collection. Direct messaged me and offered me a Pet Shop for $148 shipped but I'm certain I can find better. So that brings me to 5 with Assembly Square, Palace Cinema, and Detectives Office which are all sealed. I'm $500 in the hole so far for 5 modulars. I'm super cheap when it comes to buying things actually for me, so I'll find the rest at what I consider to be a reasonable price... or I won't find them at all. Another exciting hunt begins.1 point

Impenetrable is a strong word. More like if anyone knew of a way, it would behoove them to tighten that lip up or open the floodwaters to ebay 2.0. The $1k fee was removed a while back, unless it's made a comeback. Stressful is definitely a word I would use as too much negative feedback can get your account suspended. At any time Amazon could also request invoices from any seller selling lego on Amazon. Then what? Yeah, probably overblown a bit as most sellers who get their account suspended just seem to be bad sellers (sending crap in, or really just not knowing what they are doing through FBM or FBA), but that that doesn't mean it can't happen for a variety of other reasons. Knock on wood, say a few prayers tonight, tomorrow is not guaranteed on that platform. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth, but there is money to be made on ebay as many do indeed make good money selling on that platform selling various items including lego. You just have to be a lot more aware of the purchases your making, hold longer, go PowerSeller, buyin buyin buyin price, etc... Don't follow every picker posting their buys, as many of them sell on different platforms. Newbies beware. Forum suggestion - I'd suggest an area for BP's to post under their avatar stating what platform they sell on. May help the newbies out. Then again, what do I know.1 point

gate came down 8/26/2016. if you sold a certain amount of LEGO before this date you were grandfathered in. if you had an account which had been dormant for LEGO selling for years, you might have been gated out. the gate thus far is impenetrable unless you are an authorized LEGO reseller with a letter from TLG + $1000 fee to Jeff. no that won't work but it might get your ENTIRE amazon selling account banned. only practical way to sell lego on amazon now would be to try and buy someone's amazon store that is grandfathered in. i predict we will see such sales in the next few years as some sellers get out of the game. it is extremely lucrative selling on amazon with strongest leveraging of your efforts with respect to number of sales and price per sale and almost no time packaging individual boxes or dealing with customer service (at least in my experience). even a small time person like me can move 5 digits in weekly sales during the holiday insanity and ability to sell LEGO and other gated toys on amazon will be worth thousands of dollars to the next generation of reseller scum when I finally tire of the smell of post camping weekend sleeping bag fart that greets me every time i walk into walmart to go hunting. you can read about it all starting here:1 point

March 30, 2018. This is a date that will forever be remembered. I can get a little emotional at times. As an adult, there are a few instances when I've shed a tear. I cried when my son was born. I cried again a year later when my daughter was born. I cried tears of joy when my beloved Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl 31 after three decades of mediocrity, and again when they won Super Bowl 45. The last time I cried was two years ago this April when my Mom passed away. March 30, 2018. Today is another day that I've sobbed like a baby. Upon waking up for work, I checked my phone like I always do. Waiting for me was a PayPal notification. A large one. I checked my Bricklink account, and it appears that some blessed soul has decided that they needed some Steam Rollers in their life. Yes, some Steam Rollers. All of them. 27 to be exact. Gone. Purchased by an unknown person. A risk taker. A gambler. A guardian angel, perhaps? I began this saga with over 50 of those Steam Rollers. I'd sell one here, one there through multiple platforms, slowly chipping away at that number. I whittled it down to 27. Now I have 0. They are gone. The purchase price was just a shade over $1k. I'll make a few bucks on each one after the usual fees and shipping, but that's not the point in this circumstance. The nightmare is finally over. March 30, 2018 is my Independance Day.1 point

Uh, beg to differ. Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is by far the most compelling character since the OT (including Legends, television, and new canon).0 points
