Is this like a PokeBall? Can I throw it at the ground in battle and yell "Darth Vader, I choose you"?3 points

This was the first store in a 40 mile radius to drop the price of 10715 this morning. The big sets were obviously online returns and were lying on the top shelf. The Go Kart had been there for a while - I recall price checking it a few months ago. It must have been the fact that I was in my best suit on the way to a meeting that made the Toy Dept Mgr discount these on the spot ... I didn't really ask, she just said "let me see what I can do"... ... And my rugged good looks of course.2 points

I’d say it’s the first reason. Even the best deals here pale in comparison to some of the Walmart discount LEGO prices.2 points

I made the switch about a week ago, and the only thing I have noticed different is that I don't get emails when I get paid, which is kind of a pain in the ass. I really liked onsite payment, not sure why Bricklink likes to fix things that aren't broken. There's been a lot of complaining over there about little it seems to me. I remember when they opened up sale of Brickarms, you would have thought they were taking your first born.1 point

European dealers arnt willing to sell for loss like Walmart is last week I bought BigBen for 145€ and Diner for 110€ at GaleriaKaufhof1 point

Interesting to note how it's almost exclusively Americans posting here. Either Europeans just don't get good deals (worthy enough to post here) or Europeans are more secretive about the good discounts they find. I wonder which is true...1 point

My Mom and I talked about Toys R Us closing. My Mom told me she avoided taking us in there, which is why I don't remember going there until I was a teenager.1 point

They were the top row center and the third( i believe) row center positions. This was a brand new display and i had to pull the retainer tabs off to get the minifigs out. as soon as i found the first one in the top row i went to the same place in the corresponding row and there he was. I assume they load the top then load the bottom the same way.1 point

I'm a child of the 80's, born in '77, but didn't grow up in a town large enough to have a store like this. We had general stores that had a toy section, so I don't have that same nostalgia that others do. I can relate to losing things from your childhood and them not being the same these days. I do have kids, 11 and 8, they shop on Amazon. My son could care less if he walks through a row of toys, my daughter is still young enough to love that experience, but it doesn't matter to her where it is. That Toys R Us sign does nothing more than a Target sign, they both have toys to an 8 year old. I feel bad for the employees that will lose jobs, but that's about it.1 point

Moneysavingexpert mentioned 30% off Lego at Toys'r'us in their weekly mail this morning, I expect that will clear them out so no chance of a better deal before they go.1 point

just left a walmart with 6! police figs. they had just put out 2 of the hanging displays and also filled the shelf bin with 2 (dumped out) boxes. found the 2 in the bin and then there were 2 in each of the hanging displays. unfortunately not in the same location, but it was super easy to smoosh when you’re only looking for basically what is not the policeman. just a quick squeeze is pretty much all it takes to know if it’s not it. probably only took me about 15 min to go through them all.1 point

March 30, 2018. This is a date that will forever be remembered. I can get a little emotional at times. As an adult, there are a few instances when I've shed a tear. I cried when my son was born. I cried again a year later when my daughter was born. I cried tears of joy when my beloved Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl 31 after three decades of mediocrity, and again when they won Super Bowl 45. The last time I cried was two years ago this April when my Mom passed away. March 30, 2018. Today is another day that I've sobbed like a baby. Upon waking up for work, I checked my phone like I always do. Waiting for me was a PayPal notification. A large one. I checked my Bricklink account, and it appears that some blessed soul has decided that they needed some Steam Rollers in their life. Yes, some Steam Rollers. All of them. 27 to be exact. Gone. Purchased by an unknown person. A risk taker. A gambler. A guardian angel, perhaps? I began this saga with over 50 of those Steam Rollers. I'd sell one here, one there through multiple platforms, slowly chipping away at that number. I whittled it down to 27. Now I have 0. They are gone. The purchase price was just a shade over $1k. I'll make a few bucks on each one after the usual fees and shipping, but that's not the point in this circumstance. The nightmare is finally over. March 30, 2018 is my Independance Day.1 point
