As of today, April 7th 2018, the original Space theme by LEGO hits the four Earthen decades mark. For many it was what brought us into the building block fold with their band of galactic explorers. Although the theme has not truly been continued in any official capacity outside of a few nods and promos, the classic legacy treks ever onward through the fans' creations with what is generally called as Neo Space. With all due respect, that is a bunch of baloney. When done right, new characters and new concepts can bring together old and new fans alike. Case in point: SW Rebels. It introduced 6 brand new characters (yup, Chopper the droid is a character) and tons of new concepts to enhance the SW universe. Instead of focusing on the Skywalker bloodline, it brought focus to a small rebel cell on in the outer rim. These new characters looked and sounded like a part of big SW universe. From time to time, it brought in characters from OT and PT (good guys and bad) without making them look bad compared to the new characters. Dare I say the appearance of the old characters enhanced viewers experience and appreciations of those characters. Watch season 2 finale and tell me that is not an awesome cameo. Dave Filoni and his team treated the characters (old and new) and the universe with a lot of r-e-s-p-e-c-t (as Aretha Franklin used to say ). There was a lack of respect in TLJ, and to a lesser degree TFA. Heck, TLJ could not even respect Poe and Finn who were literally just introduced to the audience 2 years prior. Both men were relegated to B side quests that ultimately did not matter to the main storyline How could the fans relate to and rally around those 2 men when they were treated like side characters in their own movies ?? Weren't Rey & these 2 supposed to carry the torch for the new fans? The fans who supposedly would consume oodles and ooldes of Di$$ney / SW merchandi$e for years to come.

I don't usually post in this thread, but I couldn't resist this time. A very nice gentleman (ex-Lego employee), presented these four sets for sale on FB. He was very generous and accepted $500 for all of them. Now I'm torn......keep or sell?? My kids are drooling!!

A lot of the hate is directed at the treatment of Luke but Poe and Finn are actually worse. Originally Rian wrote the side quest to Casino Royale with Poe and Finn. But due to the Disney NWO matriarchy "Rose" Tico was forced into the plot. Terrible decision. Besides keeping Finn in line her character was to appeal to the Asian audience and it backfired big time as TLJ bombed in China. So Poe gets relegated to the dumb white guy role and Finn is the tag-along, token black guy who needs a strong woman to keep him in line without Rey around. The movie just sucks. It's not the nail in the coffin (Solo will be that) but it did a pretty good job of damaging the franchise as a whole.

March 30, 2018. This is a date that will forever be remembered. I can get a little emotional at times. As an adult, there are a few instances when I've shed a tear. I cried when my son was born. I cried again a year later when my daughter was born. I cried tears of joy when my beloved Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl 31 after three decades of mediocrity, and again when they won Super Bowl 45. The last time I cried was two years ago this April when my Mom passed away. March 30, 2018. Today is another day that I've sobbed like a baby. Upon waking up for work, I checked my phone like I always do. Waiting for me was a PayPal notification. A large one. I checked my Bricklink account, and it appears that some blessed soul has decided that they needed some Steam Rollers in their life. Yes, some Steam Rollers. All of them. 27 to be exact. Gone. Purchased by an unknown person. A risk taker. A gambler. A guardian angel, perhaps? I began this saga with over 50 of those Steam Rollers. I'd sell one here, one there through multiple platforms, slowly chipping away at that number. I whittled it down to 27. Now I have 0. They are gone. The purchase price was just a shade over $1k. I'll make a few bucks on each one after the usual fees and shipping, but that's not the point in this circumstance. The nightmare is finally over. March 30, 2018 is my Independance Day.

I don't know why Rose was in the film, but I agree she didn't need to be. If you send Poe and Finn on that side-story as a sanctioned mission by the purple haired people eater, then it becomes an essential plot point (whether it's any good isn't what I'm saying). Then you send Rey to see a tired and broken Luke (I was ok with that) who acts more like Yoda than Walter Matthau's character from Grumpy Old Men and is quirky but maybe teaches Rey there is more than just the force out in the universe (the last Jedi he is, Rey learns nothing about being a Jedi and I'm going to be pissed if they call her one in the next movie). At the end, they all make a stand together on the salt planet against Kylo.... boom, plot done and better. AND we end up with THREE heroes just like the OT. Purple haired woman replaces Ackbar as the quirky Admiral for the third movie (give her a bigger role if you want more female involvement). It shouldn't have been hard to have a good enough story, keep with the traditions of Star Wars, and keep Rey as a strong female lead. This is also a big fail - so many little and order girls were proud of Rey after TFA. Now? They don't care anymore ... it's done, they've moved on. Disney - swing and a miss! How many young boys idolized Luke Skywalker into adult-hood creating further generations of fans? I guarantee they won't care about Rey in two years or whenever the next film comes out.

Ha I wager little Timmy has no clue. Or Timmy's rich parents or grandparents that just want the blue race car to keep Timmy satisfied by clicking the buy box at the first seller they see. Thank God I built the forklift instead or I might be devastated.

Forget whether or not it's a good Star Wars film: I'd argue it's not even a good movie on its own merits. Its primary plot is an extremely slow-moving vehicle chase; its characters generally act like assholes and make extremely bizarre choices; its action scenes are largely tedious; its score is forgettable. In my opinion it's coasting on the goodwill generated by its far superior predecessors, and many of its faults are being given a free pass just because of the Star Wars name. Honestly, if this was just a generic sci-fi/fantasy movie that didn't have the words "Star Wars" in its title then it would be getting crucified, and rightly so.

Ok, checked it out and there seems to have been a production change just after release. The early sets are the ones missing the 1x4 tile and it seems the manual was changed but they forgot to change the parts included in the set. Newer sets should have the tile on the front box art, manual and the correct parts supplied and it seems that after December this will be the case. If you have pre December codes, it´s worth contacting SAH CS to request the parts or there will be problems down the line if a buyer has issues.

I don't think this argument really holds up. The original trilogy was basically a hero's quest and it kept to that format. The "we were kids back then" doesn't make sense either. Kids and adults still loved the movies when they came out. You don't become a cultural phenomena that stands the test of time by a coming out before Indiana Jones or ghostbusters. You have to be a special movie. Only the Last Jedi has earned the wraith of the star wars community. The force Awakens was ok, I liked Rogue one but the Last Jedi poo pooed on the entire Star Wars mythos.

Correct...package will be much thinner compared to the others in the series. Verify by feeling for the hat, 1x2 tile, and 1x2 brick. If the case is fresh it should be the third from the back on the left side of the box. I found one today in that exact spot while on my Walmart clearance run. Others have reported it's the fifth from the back. Either way, if the case is fresh it should be in that area of the box. Good luck!

Going to re-watch Rogue One again tonight. Love this one - It is a case where the many many changes that were made, worked out great.

after building all 4 of those, the nutcracker is probably the best display piece and pretty impressive. Plus can put it right back in the box when done with the holidays. The train set one is pretty nice too. The birds are a lot smaller than the other birds set so doesn't really fit into anything well and the windmill is just awkward to display. All nice sets just depends on your preferences of what you like to display / build.

Agreed the engines were longer in the 10134, however it does make it stand out well when displayed. As far as the colors go there were a thousand ways in Cannon Star Wars lore that the y-wing was shown on screen. All Lego did to color match the 10134 was take actual original trilogy photos of the Lucasfilm models to get it the best they could, for instance the “ grey canopy” in the new ucs set w3 ar3 getting depicts a battle damaged primer or bare Metal look. Here’s examples of both pics from lucasFilm. The one thing that stood out as a flaw of the new set is the front thruster cones aren’t as nice as the 10134’s as the actual model used the old “Leggs” egg shaped packaging.-lol ...and not to mention why the heck is Lego using the same old canopy piece anyways? Too bad a missed opportunity there for sure. Woulda been nice to get a newly molded side opening canopy(pictured below). but hey you never know with these sets...we get a newly molded and printed Krenics shuttle canopy priced at $90 with a slew of minifigs-lol All in all I’m looking forward to a more battle damaged rogue one y-wing but the 10134 still holds up for sure ...so many rare expensive pieces- it’ll be interesting to see how well the old set holds its value over time.

That was a great scene...right after Luke and Leia teamed up with Rey and all three of them used lightsabers and force powers to fight off those force-sensitive Knights of Ren.

Lame characters. Yep. Funny, the one character I like (Rey) and her Buildable Figure is basically worthless. Go figure. That's hot!

I completely stopped buying Star Wars sets for reselling. Too much competition. Too many resellers being okay with crumbs for profit. Even at 40-50% discount it's still a struggle to sell.

sold 2 series 18 policemen for $33 each and 27 ultimate batmobile polybags for $200. got the polys last week at tru. a few weeks ago i found 9 of them at a different tru and the cashier was hassling me about buying them all. this was about 2 days before they officially announced they were closing all stores. i sold those in lots of 3 for $28 each pretty quickly. when i found these 27 the other day i planned on selling them the same way, in lots of 3, but i figured i’d try out a huge lot first to see if it would sell. buyer is in singapore.

if i was a kid getting one of these “blind bags” i would be extremely disappointed if i got the lame policeman figure. we’re doing children a favor by removing it from the box for them! i’ve been able to disarm 2 boxes and make them safe for the kids already, and i hope to find more before they ruin a child’s day.
