Here's my latest creation - given the awesomeness of the new UCS Hulkbuster set, I wanted to try to set up a nice backdrop that shows all of the Iron Man suits. So, I built this: I thought LED lights would be a nice touch, but I apologize ahead of time for the exposed wiring: Here are the suits up close. I have all of them (I think) except for the newest Mark 50 suit from Infinity Wars: Here's each "closet" up close (warning: the wires make the cheese slopes look angled, but I assure you they're straight): Enjoy!11 points

20 minutes before closing at Target I nicely asked an employee to see if any were in the back. She had no idea how to find anything in the stock room. Manager up front talked her through it via headset. She comes back with a handful. I’m thinking the rest are still back there and she doesn’t know what she’s doing..... And there’s no way a police officer is in the tiny group. Wrong and wrong. The first one I pick up is the officer Woo hoo! I fly through the rest and start laughing bc I realize it must have been an employee’s stash of one of each character including the officer. And the last was another officer.10 points

if i was a kid getting one of these “blind bags” i would be extremely disappointed if i got the lame policeman figure. we’re doing children a favor by removing it from the box for them! i’ve been able to disarm 2 boxes and make them safe for the kids already, and i hope to find more before they ruin a child’s day.8 points

Load a cart full of flat screens and roll it out the store without paying. The police will actually come to you. Much more efficient than smooshing bags.5 points

I was on the fence this time, but decided to check my ghetto WM to see if they had a fresh box. They had an opened box so I was not expecting much, but within 3 seconds I found the police officer, and then another 10 mins later I had all 17 thanks to Brothers Brick’s guide. Definitely easy to smoosh, except perhaps a few figs (I found the spider difficult to find). Opened them all at home and was 100% correct.4 points

I watched the “Director and the Jedi” documentary last night from the TLJ bonus disc. They probably spent millions on just the sea cow scene. What a waste...4 points

sold 2 series 18 policemen for $33 each and 27 ultimate batmobile polybags for $200. got the polys last week at tru. a few weeks ago i found 9 of them at a different tru and the cashier was hassling me about buying them all. this was about 2 days before they officially announced they were closing all stores. i sold those in lots of 3 for $28 each pretty quickly. when i found these 27 the other day i planned on selling them the same way, in lots of 3, but i figured i’d try out a huge lot first to see if it would sell. buyer is in singapore.3 points

Popping in here to say that The Last Jedi is my second-favorite Star Wars film (behind Empire, narrowly ahead of ANH). I'm a long-time fan (have ready every adult Legends and Canon novel), and I absolutely adore TLJ. I know a lot of people didn't like it, and I'm definitely not going to try to convince anybody to like something as subjective as a movie. This thread just keeps popping up on my homepage with a lot of negativity, so thought I'd bring something positive to the discussion thread.3 points

This one just had more than its share of bad moments without enough good ones to balance them out. I think one reason why this will not live on in people's hearts is there was no great action or iconic moments that demand repeat viewings. We barely see any space dogfighting but get more time on slow moving bombers or escape pods. The fight with the red guards was kind of cool but seemed anti-climactic coming after Snoke bought it and the fan in me wondered why neither of them are using any force powers in that fight. The Crait showdown was lame with again hardly any dogfighting but just the Falcon leading Ties away and Rose sabotaging Finn's long drive to nowhere. As cool as the Luke-Kylo sequence is if you appreciate the idea of it, it's still over fast with very little fighting. More time was spent getting Luke from the cave to outside then in actual combat. The less sais about the casino horses the better. Far inferior to the pod race. There is nothing in here that ranks with the trench run, either of the Luke-Vader fights from Empire or Jedi, no big space battle or into the Death Star scenes like in Jedi, Phantom Menace or Revenge, and no ground battle worthy of Empire or Attack of the Clones. My then 6 year old son would watch the Geonosis battle every weekend for a year. There's nothing here I NEED to see again.3 points

The agenda was to make Luke look like a weird old hermit. They succeeded by alienating millions of fans. And why again is Disney handing over the reigns to this idiot?3 points

UCS sets were already dead as investments back when I joined in 2016. Everyone & their dog is onto it. I was late to the game in 2016 & UCS aftermarket prices are what got my attention. As advised hang around & have a read for a while before spending anything. The game got very tough due to a massive influx of new investors coming in over the past two years. Good luck!3 points

Had a Target employee pull a box from the stockroom today. When he came back, the seal on the right was intact, but the left seal was cut and the bags in that row were askew. Me thinks there's a Brickpicker working at my local Target's stockroom.3 points

This is what I and George Lucas mean about it being well made. Its production values and artistic choices are top notch. Failure is a good theme. I think my and a lot of people's problems here was that we already saw Luke go through failure after failure in Empire. Yoda doesn't need to pop back in to remind him of this lesson he learned a long time ago. It undid much of Luke's journey from before. Indeed, this new trilogy seems determined to put the old guard right back where they were when New Hope started. Luke is a whiny responsibility shirker, Leia is running a doomed resistance cel, and Han and Chewie are smugglers on the run from gangsters. At least when Obi-wan and Yoda were in hiding, it was with a purpose. Luke is just a sad old man. Big letdown for my childhood hero.2 points

Nope, I've read several posts where it definitely varies anywhere from the third to the fifth or sixth from the back on the left... Third from the back in the box I checked was a cactus girl2 points

Biggest mistake I made. I bought 3 UCS sets in mid 2017 at RRP after hearing stories about all this money people make on them. Then after buying the sets and trying to figure out how long it would take me to get rich I came here and learned my awful mistake. I hope to one day be able to sell them and make my money back.2 points

Logic says that the Porsche will go first as big Technic sets only last 2.5 years and the Chiron will be out in the summer. Ass Square should be the last, but you never know if Lego will spring another Town Hall on us due to poor sales. There is still time to get all of these sets but if you see one at a good discount (e.g. Target Ass Square mistake) then don´t procrastinate.2 points

March 30, 2018. This is a date that will forever be remembered. I can get a little emotional at times. As an adult, there are a few instances when I've shed a tear. I cried when my son was born. I cried again a year later when my daughter was born. I cried tears of joy when my beloved Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl 31 after three decades of mediocrity, and again when they won Super Bowl 45. The last time I cried was two years ago this April when my Mom passed away. March 30, 2018. Today is another day that I've sobbed like a baby. Upon waking up for work, I checked my phone like I always do. Waiting for me was a PayPal notification. A large one. I checked my Bricklink account, and it appears that some blessed soul has decided that they needed some Steam Rollers in their life. Yes, some Steam Rollers. All of them. 27 to be exact. Gone. Purchased by an unknown person. A risk taker. A gambler. A guardian angel, perhaps? I began this saga with over 50 of those Steam Rollers. I'd sell one here, one there through multiple platforms, slowly chipping away at that number. I whittled it down to 27. Now I have 0. They are gone. The purchase price was just a shade over $1k. I'll make a few bucks on each one after the usual fees and shipping, but that's not the point in this circumstance. The nightmare is finally over. March 30, 2018 is my Independance Day.2 points

I stopped at our TRU yesterday. I couldn't believe how many cars were in the parking lot, however as I was walking up to the door, I passed 3 families who didn't have any items purchased. 5% off almost everything. One lady said "Why would I buy anything? Walmart's normal prices are cheaper than this stuff." Soooo, we wait. The lego aisles were still full of lego1 point

10243 Parisian Restaurant came out in 2014. 10246 Detective Office was 2015 modular. Parisian should go before DO, if you buy into that logic but other factors could be at play . PR has lower sales rank on amazon than DO, or BB so that would favor retirement possibly. but.... Assembly Square has lowest sales rank of all currently available modulars sold by amazon.com - that big price tag automatically reduces the market demand. For the BTP with access to wholesale catalogs and other private knowledge, life is but a dream. For the rest of us peons, its all a guess and paying attention to retailer stock outages and different countries LEGO Shop at Home websites. buy correctly move inventory and watch your cagr grow. choose poorly, you bought deep into iron golem head fake and you got a nice dust collection going. when the time is right, the big time people will pass the word on down from up yonder high so us mere mortals can scrounge the remaining morsels and seed shells to wring out the retail supply and provide a nice post EOL bump.1 point

I think it was your first time discount. I just purchased the classic set through the mobile app with a ship to store. Will see if it confirms shipping out. Thanks for the heads up!1 point

Awesome news and post. I love that you've always been able to joke about it. I'm both happy for you and yet feeling left behind. I only bought 16 or so, probably the most I bought of any set thinking they were really cool and sure to be winners. Seeing them not shoot up in value as expected, I always justified it by saying, "well, at least I'm not the one stuck with XX of them!" Now you've passed on the torch of being "that guy."1 point

As a fan of classic Spidey, this hits all the right marks. Kraven the Hunter? Yes please. Scorpion? Oh yes. Classic Green Goblin? Oh hell yes. Plus, how many battles did Spidey have on a bridge? Some key moments there... I am not making a prediction; just offering anecdotal testimony about its awesomeness.1 point
