  1. Rogue one finally done. Managed to squeeze in a few days before Easter break.

  2. March 30, 2018. This is a date that will forever be remembered. I can get a little emotional at times. As an adult, there are a few instances when I've shed a tear. I cried when my son was born. I cried again a year later when my daughter was born. I cried tears of joy when my beloved Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl 31 after three decades of mediocrity, and again when they won Super Bowl 45. The last time I cried was two years ago this April when my Mom passed away. March 30, 2018. Today is another day that I've sobbed like a baby. Upon waking up for work, I checked my phone like I always do. Waiting for me was a PayPal notification. A large one. I checked my Bricklink account, and it appears that some blessed soul has decided that they needed some Steam Rollers in their life. Yes, some Steam Rollers. All of them. 27 to be exact. Gone. Purchased by an unknown person. A risk taker. A gambler. A guardian angel, perhaps? I began this saga with over 50 of those Steam Rollers. I'd sell one here, one there through multiple platforms, slowly chipping away at that number. I whittled it down to 27. Now I have 0. They are gone. The purchase price was just a shade over $1k. I'll make a few bucks on each one after the usual fees and shipping, but that's not the point in this circumstance. The nightmare is finally over. March 30, 2018 is my Independance Day.

  6. It must rank up there as the poorest set to be given the mantle of a UCS set but despite it also being the most expensive set in my collection on a price per piece basis, at over £1 per piece, I had to have it. Only five more to go and then my Star Wars UCS collection is complete.

  9. Walmart Customer Service MANAGER Raveonne: "Can I help you?" Me (Handing her the mouse, USB insert, and receipt): "I'm hoping I can return this. I don't have the packaging, but it just doesn't work right at all." Raveonne (Turning the mouse over multiple times like it's the first time she's ever seen one of these fantastic pieces of technology and then taking the USB insert): "This goes with it?" Me: "Yeah" Raveonne: "Do you have the packaging for it?" Me: "No, I don't have the packaging." Raveonne (Still gazing in wonder at the dysfunctional technology bestowed upon her): "Huh. Well, if you can go find the number..." Raveonne: "This is the receipt for it?" Me "Yes, that's it." Raveonne: "Is there a reason you are returning it?" Me: "Like I said, it doesn't work, it's all messed up..." Raveonne: "Huh" (She turns it over a couple more times). From here on she semi-competently scans the receipt, asks me if I have the Visa I used to pay, enters the item number for the return, says "that's weird, it don't take it" twice (once before and once after slowly, methodically reciting each number out loud as she emphatically presses the corresponding key), then mysteriously tells me "Ready for your card" and processes the refund, takes a piece of clear packing tape and completely mauls it while trying to tape the mouse, USB insert, and receipt together, and after laying it in a heaping sticky pile, finishes with "Have a wonderful day." I'm so confused, I don't know whether to be upset at her and her employer for the complete lack of listening skill displayed by someone in this position, impressed and happy that my return was accepted without original packaging, dismayed at the void of common sense within this individual, or mad at myself for keeping it in my brain this long.

  13. We went there the first time we drove out for me to meet my [now] wife's family. Amazing to see every generation in each hangar! My favorite point was taking the bus over to the R&D/Presidential hangar. So many amazing planes. You can see where they had to had to cut the rear wall of SAM 26000 in order to fit (exciter1 spoiler) Kennedy's casket into the main cabin, rather than placing in the cargo hold.

  24. It's an NGO contracted by DoD I believe. It's the same business that operates on each military installation. As of last fall, it's open to any veteran whereas before it was only open to active/reserve military and civilians. They use your SSN to validate veteran status. Naval Exchange is the other retailer.

  33. I thought I heard a roar in the distance. Just be sure not to cry too hard till the 180 day paypal chargeback period has expired. Meanwhile, you could make an extra buck or 2 in referral fees by selling the buyer´s contact details to a psychiatrist.

  35. “I’m on my way. Stupid traffic. I’ll get there as soon as I can.” “Dang it. I got pulled over for speeding. Will be 10 min late. “ “Now I got a flat tire. “ “Man, karma’s biting me in the arse. See you soon.” “Did you leave? Why didn’t you wait for me? I lowered my price for you. Wanted to have good karma and all, now you screwed me over. Do you have a soul?!”

  36. I would reply with "What do you know about Karma? I lost my job last month, my mother died unexpectedly over Christmas and my wife is terminally ill. I needed a break. Think before you judge. To make up for your brash statements you can buy my Assembly Square for my asking price plus $100 in emotional damages.".

  37. Welcome to the Grid folks. The designers were in their early 20ties or so. Nice blokes tho. I had to wait in queue about 2h to get this set signed. Masses of people were hoarding like crazy. The old fishing store hasn't received such recognition like this set hands down. This might be an indicator for TLG in the future... Oh - it's my 1000 post here, anniversary time

  46. Here is a 6 month update for those that were curious. The ship has weathered quite nicely. The only thing I'm worried about is the sails, they look great now, but I don't know about long term. It has not been a maintenance nightmare, as a matter of fact, our cleaner fish and snails do an excellent job!! We get more comments on this display than any of our other displays....people love it!!! I'll post a one year update just for sh*ts and giggles.
