My wife just told me that we got a letter today from the Toys R Us credit card and they upped my credit limit. At least I have that going for me!6 points

After reading the Brickset review, I think this is a great set, but the price-point is a bit lacking as mentioned by others. https://brickset.com/article/34974/review-21314-tron-legacy3 points

10230 Mini Modulars $40 CL It’s kinda a white whale for me. I’ve wanted this set for awhile. I stupidly missed out when it was doing the retirement dance. I BL’d, but never was happy with that. Couldn’t pass up a good deal on it.2 points

After not being able to find the 60150 Pizza Van during the Walmart clearance sale or on sale anyplace else, I bought one at Costco for $13.99 (30% off) for personal build and there were plenty of them left. In case you missed out too, this is not a bad price for the personal collection and will fit well with a city scene and/or modular collection That is my plan anyway.2 points

TRU I visited yesterday evening had 10% off newer LEGO and 30% off older sets. They were almost wiped out of LEGO, except... wait for it... Jyn Erso's. Must had about 70 of them on the shelves. I wonder if LEGO will eventually just give these away. lol1 point

Sometimes my wife does the prep work, and I do all the cooking. Of course, this is only when we are using a slow cooker (but I do need to turn it on, and remember to plug it in).1 point

could be numerous things on a set that size. Box, inner package contents, or actual pieces. The box quality is a lot worse so maybe lighter. Since the change about 80% are damaged towards the top straight out of the case. It was never a great quality box to begin with though with the way the weight was and most always had some sort of box flaw.1 point

Just old style bags (2011, no white bar) and new style bags (2015 onwards) mixed together is no biggie, LEGO does this themselves all the time. (Though recently less and less, I guess they are slowly running out of the older type bags)1 point

Other advice aside - because TRU is saying they are still fulfilling right now.... If they are merchandise return gift cards, you will be SOL unless you go into the store and use them (I hope). YMMV when it comes to using them, and whether they care if there is a name attached to the card. After spending an hour on hold, I tried ordering through talking to a person. No dice. Person was hardline on "merchandise return GCs can only be used in store." I've already requested a return from Cardpool, but that could take 3 days (maybe more since it's Friday afternoon). I may give one of the cards a try in store tonight to see what happens when I use a merch return GC in store on a product in stock (as opposed to trying to order something online). If it's a straight amount GC (which I bought some of those this week, too), it will work online no problem. Raise locked your Raise account? And then they wouldn't refund your GC purchase? Did your CC at least accept the charge back?1 point
-
I would not risk using gc on tru.com because they can cancel the order and put the gc in limbo and gc are not valid after 4-18.1 point

I might have to stand outside of my local TRU with sets that I got for 50% off marked at 5% off (being 10% over MSRP).1 point

Same here or try to. Ha. I've homemade(ish) that too; end up putting together some quirky gourmet dish with whatever wacky concoction of ingredients I feel like resulting in a not quite deep dish style pizza. Pizza is one food similar to sandwiches or pasta I guess where you can get really creative and still tastes pretty good. However that also means an even bigger mess. Haha. The closest dessert I have made myself anymore are the equivalent to snow cones where you pour some flavored syrup/mix on blended ice. Only thing to cleanup is the food processor, the serving glass, and spoon.1 point

Interesting the new Castles are slightly lighter than the original mammoth batch. Just noticed it a few weeks ago, finally looked at the ever famous seals and they are 08 now and they did create another import certificate for them. Thought maybe my shipping boxes were a little lighter but it is definitely the castle box itself when the weights were lighter. Not much but enough to knock some under 15lbs shipped, most still hit 15.1 unfortunately so still 16 shipped like the old days. Knew there was something different though just never took the time to notice.1 point

@Shewie That P51 is AWESOME! I didn't build "today", but it's been my current project that I just finished within the past couple days and since I just found the love here, I figured I'd share the love! If Ya'll are not aware of this set, it's part of the Lego Certified Professional Brand Limited to 100pcs Exclusively at the "The Renault Workshop" in Paris. There were 2 other sets released that day, a Speed Champions series RS17 (1000pcs) and a Concept RS27 Expert Creator (40pcs) set. The set pictured below is the Creator Expert RS17 model. I sourced the instructions and built the set from scratch while also creating the stickers from scratch (happy to help others just send me a PM). My build progress was detailed on a thread here in these forums. I welcome others to join the adventure for this awesome set. It's stunning on display.1 point

Stopped by our “vintage” TRU. Most people I’ve ever seen. Discounts nearly non-existent. 5%off LEGO is a joke. But it was still sad as it will probably be our kid’s last time to browse a mega toy store.0 points
