Anyone who is really angry about this so called "Scam" really seems to care a bit too much. The "Exclusive Benefit" is the gift of an awakening, to the realities of consumer manipulation.9 points
-
wow this just got real, it's a SCAM now??? Personally just knowing I have a black card and Bold Arrow does not gives me a full year of enjoyment, rewards, and benefits... Plus the one bought on my wife's account didn't get one either so I have one and she doesn't!!! Basically it doesn't get better than this card9 points

Hello, I am sure there is a way to see my archived posts, but . . . St. Paul School parent and Lego Club Moderator here. We have about 42 kids in kindergarten through 2nd grade at St. Paul's - 36 of those kids are in the Lego Club! To say we love Legos at St. Paul's is an understatement. The elementary classes have Legos - most teachers use them as a learning station of some sort. After learning that, it occurred to me that we should have an after school Lego Club where the kids could play and be creative. At first, I was bringing all my son's Legos for the students to build with. Then we had a very generous donor named Mr. Ed Maciorowski, who not only donated Legos from his family's personal collection, but bought several boxes to contribute. Now we have a comprehensive collection. We have a theme each week and the students seem to enjoy themselves. It also gives me a chance to build and in fact I like coming up with ideas to keep them interested. When I see the kids around their first question is what is the theme this week? It's like a well guarded secret. Needless to say, the school would not still be open and flourishing without the past donations from Brickpicker members and others from the Lego community. Saying thank you really doesn't seem like enough. I am hoping that the investment in the development of future Lego buyers is at least partial payback . I will try to post pictures of some of our creations later. In the meantime-- THANK YOU!4 points

Thanks for inviting me to share! Yeah, that' my brother, but you know how little sisters are - what's his is mine. Wasn't long before I had my own. Now if only we had KEPT all those old Lego... Alas, the oldest set I kept is from 1989. Not been collecting CMFs for as long at that (or course - they didn't exist), but for a while. I usually only want a few from each series - but this series is pretty awesome. Most of us have had our dark ages, but I've always been interested when hearing Lego in the news. I found out my housemate was head of CMF just this year when the Women of Nasa set came out - she was one of the 2 designers on that, and she was in the news.2 points

JL are notorious for setting too many hurdles to ever get a price match. You may as well just buy elsewhere. They set test after test and then make up extra rules (irrespective of what their written policy says). When you apply online they take so long that it's usually sold out anyway. JL are highly overrated1 point

Looking at the description and their other auctions, seller did not know what they had. Figures look to be in really good shape too. I'm really jealous as I would love to own the 10123 figures but the upcoming rumored Cloud City has scared me off from spending big money on them just to have updates come out.1 point

I didnt receive the 60 yr anniversary book either. lol1 point

That's all fine, but they could have easily set up a registry during 2017, so that anyone who registered and then paid once their falcon had shipped would be eligible for a black card and the promos. Heck, they could have just put it on backorder in their system for the entire duration of 2017, and make people pay up front, and that way ensure that everyone who wanted got a black card. Definitely badly managed by TLG1 point

Hey, it's good to be back again for the great cause! Received Jeffs email on friday but only read it a few minutes ago. So for starters, I started with the first 22 tickets! More to go in the upcoming 9 days ...1 point

I just like adding fuel to the fire. But for real, it just seems like another awful job in planning by their marketing department just like how fantastic their website is in comparison to most other websites that seem to work just fine when you buy something. If I had to make a bet, there will be about 4-6 total "marketing things under the black card" including the February thing. Hopefully 1 of them is worth it to each person, whether it is the same one that many like or one that others don't like but some find satisfying. I just opened my MF yesterday and my son and I are having a blast putting it together.1 point

Still haven't won yet, but happy to buy some tickets all the same. Good luck to your school making the numbers it needs this year. Our kids are worth it.1 point

Having participated in both the 2016 and 2017 Raffles I wouldn't want to miss out this year. So I just bought some raffle tickets as well to add my support.1 point

Cloud City is confirmed, Store managment knows about the new UCS set that is expected to be released in approx June. but they haven't seen the project yet + there will be some perks for VIP card holders most likely related to that release alone. there will be no Force Friday event this year.1 point

Thanks for that. Individual set data is up-to-date for Feb, it´s just the main dashboard graphs that aren´t yet.1 point

I have the data for all of Feb now. I have already started the process and it should finish in a few hours. Will finish the rest tomorrow and we will be caught up.1 point

I gotta have to say, this set looks much better in person than on pictures, amount of tiny details is overwhelming and the overall colour of the set is very appealing. I have to admit, I was sceptical about this set but after seeing this today in person, I decided to get one. But it's smaller than I thought because they've kept a minifig scale. Size of it is about the same as 70615 without pennants.1 point

saw this from brothers brick. Looks fantastic. If only we could get this in a bundle with pieces and instructions. link to flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/159890103@N04/albums/721576931824336941 point

Easter set 40237 is only $2.00 at Barnes & Noble in store. The website shows $9.95 for the in store price but it rings up at $2.1 point

This is a matter of perspective, I've got several friends who are casual Lego fans and have picked up a MF. Quite a few were really happy with the double points last month and it got them into a Lego Store to spend more. Lego isn't looking at us when they come out with these promotions.1 point

@Shewie That P51 is AWESOME! I didn't build "today", but it's been my current project that I just finished within the past couple days and since I just found the love here, I figured I'd share the love! If Ya'll are not aware of this set, it's part of the Lego Certified Professional Brand Limited to 100pcs Exclusively at the "The Renault Workshop" in Paris. There were 2 other sets released that day, a Speed Champions series RS17 (1000pcs) and a Concept RS27 Expert Creator (40pcs) set. The set pictured below is the Creator Expert RS17 model. I sourced the instructions and built the set from scratch while also creating the stickers from scratch (happy to help others just send me a PM). My build progress was detailed on a thread here in these forums. I welcome others to join the adventure for this awesome set. It's stunning on display.1 point

I think it was this damn site that ruined my eyes! My wife bought me a computer for my 40th birthday to tool around with at work and all I do now is stare at the screen in between customers. Each year, my monitor is getting bigger as well (like my phone). LOL1 point

Things can't be too bad though - We couldn't be spending our days/nights discussing LEGO if they were (then again, maybe that just means that things are even worse than we thought).1 point

It's the health issues that bother me as I approach 50. Nothing major...just it gets harder and harder to "feel good." When you are 30, your health is not a major factor for most people. Feeling good is taken for granted. I guess my biggest pet peeve is the $3.00 readers I need to see clearly.1 point

My sister and I had those same Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls... she used to dress me up in their clothes. I'm not posting pictures of that. So serious question, how hard would it have been to collect only those few favorites if it wasn't for Bricklink, eBay and other reselling sites? Do you think LEGO made it harder to collect your favorites on purpose or by accident? Nobody is begruding LEGO's choice, we just don't believe it's a benevolent choice. PS If the lead CMF designer is making marketing decisions, no wonder LEGO has had some financial setbacks lately. /s1 point

Ever since the news on this re-release broke I have been hoping that it tanks, and will continue to hope it tanks. Let LEGO be stuck with a boatload of these large, shelf-occupying sets that nobody wants. 50% off fire sale BF 2018, quick retirement, end of the re-release experiment and lesson learned.1 point
