  7. @Shewie That P51 is AWESOME! I didn't build "today", but it's been my current project that I just finished within the past couple days and since I just found the love here, I figured I'd share the love! If Ya'll are not aware of this set, it's part of the Lego Certified Professional Brand Limited to 100pcs Exclusively at the "The Renault Workshop" in Paris. There were 2 other sets released that day, a Speed Champions series RS17 (1000pcs) and a Concept RS27 Expert Creator (40pcs) set. The set pictured below is the Creator Expert RS17 model. I sourced the instructions and built the set from scratch while also creating the stickers from scratch (happy to help others just send me a PM). My build progress was detailed on a thread here in these forums. I welcome others to join the adventure for this awesome set. It's stunning on display.

  9. Bought a used set. Arrived and found that one of the animals (that is somewhat rare) is in bad shape. Was not disclosed in listing. (Other nuances were disclosed so saw no need to further clarify the listing.) Messaged seller expressing disappointment and lack of disclosure. Left it open-ended to see if seller would offer a small refund. or just tell me to return it. Seller never replied, so I filed a SNAD. Seller's reply in the SNAD case, "I did not return the buyers latest e mail as they did not ask a question that needed a response. ." Then seller went on a tirade about how this is my fault for not asking the right questions about the listing. This excuse always kills me. I know some disagree but it is the seller's responsibility to properly describe the item. You could soak the Legos in cat pee, and is it my fault because I didn't ask you that? Ok, rant over! I posted pics of the item in the SNAD case and will leave it up to eBay.

  17. The truth is that JJ, Rian, Kennedy and Disney Inc. all conspired to give us TLJ long before it was put on film. Kennedy formed an all female writing committee going back to 2012: "Kathleen Kennedy founded the group in 2012 when she succeeded George Lucas as president of Lucasfilm, putting Kiri Hart, a former film and TV writer, in charge of the unit. Ms. Hart’s first move was to make the story group entirely female, starting with Rayne Roberts and Carrie Beck. Both women had experience in film development but had also worked in other arenas — Ms. Roberts in magazine publishing, and Ms. Beck with the Sundance Institute." https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/22/movies/star-wars-last-jedi-women-run-universe.html Ms. Hart's resume isn't impressive: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1848009/#producer Really nothing of note before Star Wars which makes you question Kennedy's judgement putting her in charge of writing a Billion dollar franchise. Same goes for Rian Johnson. A nobody before Star Wars with only a couple of minor films under his belt. Nothing that interesting. My personal opinion is that The Force Awakens was a tease to get fans on-board with this agenda based new trilogy. If you don't like the direction of the new trilogy (and the Star Wars franchise in general) the best thing to do is just boycott future Star Wars films and products.

  18. The conversation probably was something like this: JJ: Do whatever you want as long as Rey, Leia, Poe, Finn, and Kylo are alive at the end. Rian: sure thing Disney: keep the tall ewok guy alive too so we can sell more talking masks. Rian: ok boss

  24. My kids still get excited about going to Toys R Us, as I did when I was a kid. That's what I'll miss most. I just can't come to terms with big box toy stores being no more.

  30. A lot of time and patience I would imagine. Haha. The builder states they used the original set with an assortment of additional pieces (rough guess around 600). Anyway it seems the old link for that Palace Cinema mod was no longer working properly so I corrected it with this updated one here.

  31. FBA return, where they sent the customer the wrong item and then returned this to me. Nice of them to slap the shipping label on the box and send it back to me this way. It happened twice with Emma’s House over the holidays, sent Sunshine Ranches to my customers with KMart clearance stickers on them. My daughter and I put it together. She made it through 2 bags with me before she started playing, as I was building. Much nicer set than I always thought it would be, solid build.

  38. I was wondering if somebody could explain to me how Lego pricing works? I was recently at the Lego store in Rome, Italy. It was my first time seeing pricing outside of the United States. I understand that some international prices include tax, which US RRP does not include, but still... some of the pricing had me scratching my head. That piece of garbage First Order ATST was a whopping 59 Euros, which translates into over 70 USD (compared to a RRP of 40 in the US). Looked at the price in Czech Republic for the same set and it was almost 90 USD when converted! I hear a lot of stuff about promos internationally (3 for 2, discounts on exclusives, etc., which don't happen as frequently in the US)... so are there just better sales on the RRP at international stores? Or are these prices normal for Europeans to pay? No disrespect to anyone, Italy was absolutely fantastic. Thanks in advance to anybody who can explain! Also, got a hint of time travel when there was a damaged box Sandcrawler at the Rome store for 300 Euro. No discount for the damage though.
