I am an original Star Wars fan from 1977, had many toys, trading cards, books, records, etc as a 6-12 year old kid from 1977-1983. I have an extensive vintage Star Wars collection that I have built since 1991. I think about Star Wars every day, the same way some men think about cars, sports, gambling, drinking, carousing, etc. We are Disney Vacation Club (time share) members and actually purchased vacation points at the Disney Boardwalk resort so we can stay once a year and walk over to the new Star Wars Land that is due to open next year. I am that invested in Star Wars. I have children who are 7, 10, and 12. The 12 year old is a huge Star Wars fan. The others like it but are not super passionate. I hate what Disney has done to the franchise so much, that I regret buying the Boardwalk points. I don't care about Disney Star Wars any more. The movie was terrible. What they did to Luke Skywalker was unbelievable and unforgivable. Many of us have waited 34.5 years to see Luke Skywalker on the big screen again, and this character assassination is what they gave us. I think I could forgive everything else. I could get over the bad science, the inconsistencies, the ridiculous plot, and the rest of this ridiculous movie if they would have done justice to Luke's character. I am done. What little TLJ merchandise that made its way into our house before we saw the movie is gone. There will be no more. No Legos, no other toys, no DVDs, no Halloween costumes, etc etc. We only went to the theater once instead of multiple times like we had with the other movies. That's 5 tickets x 2 or x 3 that Disney did not sell for TLJ, and will not sell for Episode IX or Solo. I don't give a crap about what comes next. What's more, my 7 and 10 year old are now completely disengaged from Star Wars. The movie was so bad that it lost them. My 12 year old did not like it. I had a car full of 12 year olds recently, and they all thought TLJ sucked. There are many, many people out there who simply did not like this movie. Do not believe the media BS that it's right wing racists review bombing the movie. I am a long time fan who is disenchanted with what they did to Luke and otherwise thought the movie was just, well, bad. BTW, my family is multicultural and multiracial. This is not a white male thing. If you liked the movie, good for you. If you did not like it, then do not support Disney Star Wars. Do not buy the DVD, do not buy the toys, do not go see Solo or Episode IX. That is the only way a change at Lucasfilm will be forced.4 points

@Shewie That P51 is AWESOME! I didn't build "today", but it's been my current project that I just finished within the past couple days and since I just found the love here, I figured I'd share the love! If Ya'll are not aware of this set, it's part of the Lego Certified Professional Brand Limited to 100pcs Exclusively at the "The Renault Workshop" in Paris. There were 2 other sets released that day, a Speed Champions series RS17 (1000pcs) and a Concept RS27 Expert Creator (40pcs) set. The set pictured below is the Creator Expert RS17 model. I sourced the instructions and built the set from scratch while also creating the stickers from scratch (happy to help others just send me a PM). My build progress was detailed on a thread here in these forums. I welcome others to join the adventure for this awesome set. It's stunning on display.3 points

Oddly the VIP poster (black & white) gets a separate listing in Europe and the UK, but not on the US site. And I think LEGO made a units error here when they listed it: https://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Limited-edition-Marvel-Art-Print-5005574 Comic Art rendition of LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition Artwork by Marvel artist Ron Lim, penciller of the 1992 comic book limited series: Infinity War 254 x 330 cm lithograph print on high quality card stock paper Colour version limited to 40,000 copies globally VIP Limited Edition black & white variant limited to 13,000 copies globally 254 x 330 CM ??? That's freaking HUGE! The height from floor to ceiling in modern (Dutch) houses is 260 cm. So I'm guessing it should have said: 254 x 330 mm (or 25.4 x 33.0 cm) ...3 points

My kids still get excited about going to Toys R Us, as I did when I was a kid. That's what I'll miss most. I just can't come to terms with big box toy stores being no more.3 points

The mini minifigs (statuettes) look like they're printed .. Those are pretty uncommon (though not expensive except the ironman one) so I could see those being 'desirable' enough to make the promo valuable out of the gate.2 points

Looks like a cardboard box with some LEGO inside though. I'm not really convinced...2 points

Right. The OT borrowed a lot from other films and stories. But Lucas turned it into something new. And there was some stupid stuff even in Empire (the mynock cave). TLJ was just so bad. I would've even forgave the lame characterization of Luke Skywalker if the rest of the movie was great. Yes, the throne room scene was well done and I was even ok with killing off Snook (though it was handled poorly). But the rest of the film was just bad. The lame jokes, Luke tossing his lightsaber after the build-up in TFA, Canto Bight, twitch faced Benicio Del Toro (nobody even talks about him since his character was so irrelevant), Rose Tico, purple haired chick, Leia doing nothing after turning into Mary Poppins, Poe's regression as a character, Finn's complete waste as character (a step back from TFA), Rey being a nobody and acting like a nobody with force powers, recycled Hoth battle, slow motion space chase, running out of fuel (shouldn't be relied on as plot crutch in a Star Wars movie), BB8 driving an AT thing, Phasma showing up again and doing nothing again, Just for Men Phantom Luke handing off the gold dice to Leia (if he's basically a hologram that cannot be hit by a laser then how can he physically touch or hold something??? Is the Star Wars Universe one giant hologram then? Interesting to think about)..... and on. With all that said, I did like the cinematography.2 points

It’s a good thing Phil stepped in to correct Exciter. We wouldn’t want this thread to get side tracked or anything.1 point

I’ve sold a set of modulars; 10197 FB, 10211 GE, 10218 PS, 10224 TH and 10232 PC. All 5 MIB for €1.350,- cash, local pickup. Buy in was €670,-, about 2 years ago. And with this sale I’ve met a couple of LEGO enthusiasts just like me which was also a lot of fun. During the conversation it appears they where searching for a couple of collectible minifigures which I had. So I’ve also sold them a Hotdog Man and Unicorn Girl (S13), Pigsuit Guy (S12), Banana Suit Guy (S16), Butterflies Girl (S17), and Chickensuit Guy (Easter version). All in closed package. I gave them the Hotdog Suit for free as a little thank you for the Modulars. I received an additional € 45,- for the other figs (buy-in total of €15,-). Grand total of € 1.395,-.1 point

It’s not an issue of just having little chuckle flaws. They all do. But New Hope didn’t recycle a previous Star Wars movie or take its characters into uncharacteristic paths like the past 2 have. These new movies’ main flaw is apathy. They’re not even trying to be new, just recycling the same formula like their Marvel cousins for the most part. This can only last so long before audiences get bored.1 point
