  1. Kmart cancelled one of my store pick up Death Troopers yesterday. Had to call SYW to get all my points back. Was sure that the store had these on the shelf so went to check today. Sweet revenge. 20×75120 K-2SO $4 each before the below shenanigans 16×75121 Death Trooper $4 each Used: $37 in points $15 on $65 FC $10 on $50 FC $2 on $20 FC Across several transactions. Paid $79.58 OoP after tax, which makes these $2.08 each before tax. Received 2× $6 FC coupons and $7 back in points. Plus a generous helping of $5 off $35 coupons, as well as a coupon for a free Hot Wheels car w purchase. Obligatory haul pic:

  3. LEGO Ideas Caterham Seven 620R 21307 $55.97 (~$49 with coupon) @ Google Express/Walmart. Came out to $48.70 for me with App discount. https://express.google.com/product/6470058142094241967_2247591986609098152_8175035 https://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-Ideas-Caterham-Seven-620R-21307/53720904

  4. 10259 Winter Village Station x24. 20% off / $64 each Walmart.com deal from the other day. Train stations and the Winter Village theme have always done well for me. Combine the two and this set is a safe bet to do well once retired. 20% isn't a great discount, but the winter sets rarely get discounted unless you have a Lego store nearby and they are trying to move them after the season is over. Even then it's usually only 30%. I just tried to place another order of 12 but it looks like they finally sold out after a few days. Bummer.

  5. Market monopolized on that already.

  6. My favorite part of the store closings is that they won't sell stuff like the big Funko Freddy or the LEGO set displays because they belong to the vendors. You guys have about $32 million dollars that belongs to TLG and you're worried about returning the displays?

  8. I bought a Caterham Seven for $44.78 (44% off) via Walmart on the Google Express app w/20% off coupon. It might be the last chance to get these at a good discount.

  9. I sold 12 sets of the Powerpuff girl minifigures for $9.99 each set. Now I just need to punt all the parts and discs that came with those sets.

  10. I have a feeling Big Funko Freddy will be walking right out the back door and into some caring person's car! I might just over to my local TRU and ask them if they would sell them to me. F it...it's not like they have a future there!

  11. In addition to the other responses, I have had this happen when a new user is trying to order from me and I had the "Show only Instant Checkout methods to new buyers" box checked on the Management tab of your store settings (or the checkbox under that not checked, which allows invoice when the order can't be filled with IC).

  13. Some people don't think hunting for deals is worth their time or a few (tens of) dollars, and just buy stuff when they need it or like it. Don't ask me how I know .... [emoji1]

  14. Just sold a Lance's Mecha Horse and Moltor's Lava Smasher for $50 total. Buy-in was $10. Not quite the same league but I'll take it.

  15. I ordered 12 the day of the OP, and another 12 the next day. Both orders arrived today. They must have been sitting on quite a few if they lasted that long.

  18. Wife needed a new vacuum cleaner .... so I got her the top model Kenwood Elite model, on sale from $600 for $410, plus $35 off $300 coupon, plus 5.5% discounted Giftcards .... plus $85 back in points thanks to a few promos that applied. Which meant I got to buy myself a 70618 Destiny's Bounty for $55 after using those points, a $15 off $70 coupon, another 5.3% off GC and a bit of points I saved up over the last few days ..... 66% off. For personal build (but that means I now have 2 70618's for resale from the $79 WM clearance ...)

  20. By getting rid of turds any which way to have space for something that could sell better. Plus @Phil B has to make another trip back to use those coupons and for sure the wife will want something expensive at full price so they are playing the long game. TRU could do well to take note.

  38. So I updated my BL Shipping methods last week to reflect the new Paypal pricing. All I did was update the numbers (and create a few bands in my First Class method). Nothing else. Today I get a potential buyer who messages me saying Checkout tells him "No Shipping Method Available" when he tries to check out from my store. Only way I can resolve this is by turning Instant Checkout on (by setting all my shipping methods to "Automatic" from the previous "Manual"). I've done that for now to get this sale going through, but does anyone know why this happened? Was working fine before I changed the rates. Is there a hidden setting somewhere I should have enabled recently to continue to avoid Instant Checkout? BTW: Only way I could check this out is by creating a dummy account and trying to buy from my own store. Is that really the only way to test your BL store?

  41. Amazon hasn’t helped certainly, but it’s PE all the way down for TRU. And they’re not the only ones. https://wolfstreet.com/2018/01/22/the-private-equity-firms-at-the-core-of-brick-mortar-retail-bankruptcies/ Toys ‘R’ Us shows how this was done: PE firms KKR, Vornado Realty Trust, and Bain Capital Partners acquired the publicly traded shares of Toys ‘R’ Us in an LBO in 2005. In 2004, Toys R Us had $2.2 billion in cash and short-term investments. By Q1 2017, this had collapsed to just $301 million. Over the same period, long-term debt surged from $2.3 billion to $5.2 billion. In other words, “cash minus debt” was -$112 million in 2004. By 2017, it had ballooned to -$4.9 billion. While the PE firms were busy extracting cash, the company, cash-strapped and focused on cost-cutting, failed to create an online presence that could compete with Amazon and others, didn’t successfully make the transition to electronic devices, video games, and apps, and let its physical stores deteriorate. It should have spent the last decade investing heavily in its future. Instead, it was forced to borrow large amounts of money just to enrich its PE-firm owners.
