  1. Went to visit some friends in New Orleans, couldn't resist checking out some local secondhand/thrift stores...

  3. I got the Legoland micro castle. Nice little build and it displays as if you want to start a whole micro amusement park.

  5. It's too quiet in here this week. For those of you that like to stay organized, this is the lowest price I've seen on these drawer units. I have about 180 drawers of these and they works great. Select case of 3 (total of 9 drawers) and the price is $24.22 shipped: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-Wide-3-Drawer-Unit-White-Available-in-Case-of-3-or-Single-Unit/44785819

  8. My kids started with the books when they were 8. Then followed by the audio books during drives and while relaxing at home. Then the movies at age 9, with the later, darker movies at age 10. HP is still going strong in our house after 4 years - we just came back from Universal and really loved it, all of us ... Kids brought their robes and wands and had a blast. These sets are high on our wishlist. Oh, and we didn't need the books because I bought them all when they came out originally - read the first book to "see what it was all about" and was hooked immediately. That book is still a great read even after having read/heard & seen it about a 100 times ....

  10. FBA return, where they sent the customer the wrong item and then returned this to me. Nice of them to slap the shipping label on the box and send it back to me this way. It happened twice with Emma’s House over the holidays, sent Sunshine Ranches to my customers with KMart clearance stickers on them. My daughter and I put it together. She made it through 2 bags with me before she started playing, as I was building. Much nicer set than I always thought it would be, solid build.

  11. First (and most likely last) delivery of my orders from LEGO Shop at Home sale last Thursday: (8) 42043 Mercedes-Benz Arocs - € 99.99 (6) 75105 Millennium Falcon - € 74.99 (5) 21121 The Desert Outpost - € 34.99 (2) 76057 Spider-Man Bridge Battle - € 49.99 (2) 70596 Samurai X Cave Chaos - € 59.99 (8) 21027 Architecture Berlin - € 14.99 (8) 41125 Horse Vet Trailer - € 19.99 Arocs, Minecraft and Friends arrived minty fresh in factory cartons. 1 of the Berlin sets, 2 Falcons and both Ninjago sets had some creases. Rest were mint and certainly didn't look like returns. Mostly end of 2017 seals.

  14. 41176 Elves Secret Market Place for 59.95. Original street price... from local toy store that sells 'vintage toys'... Perhaps they left off a 1 on that price by mistake... Happily built by my daughter and I that afternoon... Only missing one Dragon now...

  15. I reckon Yellow Submarine is the slowest film tie-in release. @exciter1 is probably still waiting for that movie to drop, though.

  16. GBHQ is PRETTY late to the party, and going quite well. I do not expect anything different from the HP D2C. If the set is nice, it sells. Quite simple.

  21. Yeah google streetview is great for that. If feedback is good and recent you are probabl OK but perhaps you should contact them and see what they say. Maybe you can even sell more sets!

  22. Exciting to see a couple of images. There must be more of course, I am interested to see the Basilisk. I am not quite sure I understand how that set would connect to Whomping Willow...

  23. IKEA options: A small RIBBA frame from would work pretty well for a prominent, individual minifig. (Edit: this should work fine on shelf. It is a thick, deep, stable frame) A larger RIBBA frame works for numerous figs. A KASSEBY display box is also good (what I use) for numerous figs and it has a front door.

  24. There are individual display cases for minifigures but they’re mostly pretty ugly... (cheap Chinese junk). If you really want to protect it and display it anywhere, I’d get a display case with UV protection.... but you won’t find one for LEGO. Look for hockey puck or baseball display cases. The puck ones have mirrored backdrops so you’d be able to admire his backside as well!

  27. Yup! Someone loaded a shopping cart full of big sets unpaid for and uncovered and tried to sneak out a side door. Quite brazen! Workers got the cart with the sets back but I think the perp got away.

  34. Yes Mauro, and from the words of TLG themselves, that line tanked because they completely missed the momentum and target audience. So not really a great example nor the for that matter a stellar aftermarket performer all around save for maybe Helm's Deep...

  40. Here is a 6 month update for those that were curious. The ship has weathered quite nicely. The only thing I'm worried about is the sails, they look great now, but I don't know about long term. It has not been a maintenance nightmare, as a matter of fact, our cleaner fish and snails do an excellent job!! We get more comments on this display than any of our other displays....people love it!!! I'll post a one year update just for sh*ts and giggles.
