Hello All - back with another build that actually even really applies to this site. Needed quite a bit of space-like sets to get all the LBG pieces needed for this build. Abstract in nature, but just a tribute to all things ealing with Lego Greebling. Used a variety of techniques portrayed by others but also many that I created myself. Enjoy!6 points

So my post office was the fruitcake this time. Years of being a top rated seller, new postal worker started during the summer. I pack up things nightly and leave it, and they have always picked up and scanned promptly. Since the start of the year the new postal worker starts leaving packages in her vehicle overnight according to the post office (she's been "disciplined" according to the manager), and I suddenly have a flood of late shipments. Went from 0% late shipments to having an insurmountable number. Called eBay and talked to one of their seller help specialists. Amazingly enough the lady on the phone told me "It sucks when you get an incompetent postal worker, we can see you print your labels the same day. We don't usually do this, but I'm going to remove all the late shipments from your account". So I'll be dropping packages off daily at the post office from now on. Lucked out on this one for sure.5 points

No confirmed address, no send. No problem with zero rated buyers wanting things urgently but without PayPal Seller protection I wouldn't send something out.3 points

Got a Ninjago City that was my wife’s Christmas present to me. I asked to wait to buy it until the promo was active.3 points

Ok guys, so I got a little more insight into this whole design. I went to the Signing event at the lego store in Salt Lake City, and had a chance to ask some question of the designer. (On top of getting my box signed.) I asked him why they nerfed it so much, and he said that his own design has some flaws and was extremely fragile, and had some seams that wouldn't work for stability purposes. He also admitted that there were some illegal techniques he used in his submission. So it started to make a little more sense why it's a bit different. So take it as you will, but this is coming directly from the Sadovich himself.2 points

Yes. Tower bridge is worse IMO. I believe I hate when there are an enormous amount of steps using 1x1 plates and bricks being stacked up. TM > TB > BB2 points

Belle's Castle £69.99, buy in £38. Not a massive profit after fees and postage but my first sale on eBay so I'm happy. I've increased the price for the other one now to gain a bit more more profit.2 points

Finished this up last week - hands down one of favorite sets, both in terms of the building process as well as the final result. If you are on the fence at all, I highly recommend it! It would be nice if LEGO put out a descent small sail boat to go with this - I have some of the recent Fishing Boats stored away, but somehow one of those just doesn't seem to do this set justice...2 points

I went for it.....cracked open one of my Tower Bridges and built the alternate build designed by Lee Inyong. It's a good looking modular, but if you look closely, you can see where he obviously was limited on pieces. For example, the most obvious is the sidewalk not being done in tiles. I am going to tweek the streetscape a little to better flow with my other modulars. There are also some very delicate components as you get deep into the build which add a bit of a challenge. But overall.....I think he did a pretty darn good job at making the most out of what he was provided. Made good use out of one of my shelf-warmers.....2 points

So January is basically over and nothing's announced for any Black ViP rewards for buying the MF. poor form. So much for "for a full year of special Star Wars-themed offers throughout 2018" thats a bad start. Will we even get anything in February?1 point

50% of your Lego profits? So you're not investing this year?1 point

CHEERS2018 gave me $5 off $50 at Raise. Was tied to a personalized email showing my savings over 2017, so YMMV.1 point

If they do that though they cut off the whole point of the promos. I.e. entice people to spend more money. Otherwise it's just another small seasonal set.1 point

Yeah, similar for me. Will be laughing all the way to the bank if or when ETH overtakes BTC as the biggest crypto currency. NEO is recovering quite nicely too by the way. Don't know if any of you guys hold any NEO, but I see good prospects in this Chinese answer to ETH.1 point

To be fair, Lego sell toys and are not portrait painters. The focus has to be on the cars not the background. I think the Porsche 911 set is a rehash of the S1 version and we alredy go the previous iteration of the 919 hybrid so the standout models are the classic Mustang, the Fiesta rally car and the 250 GTO. Why they felt the need to put the 488 gt3 in 2 sets in the same year with so many other classic Ferraris that could have been chosen is a mystery.1 point

Had a bunch of points, so I went for another Classic Batcave + promo. Come on folks, make them disappear.1 point

The price argument is a weak one IMO. Maybe there is piece and/or design issues, but charge another $20 and deliver a better set. $70...$80...$90...What's the difference? (Don't say $10 or $20...LOL). This set is not designed for kids IMO. It's another set designed for adults, who have the money to buy the more intricate set.1 point

I realized I've only been sorting bulk and laying out pieces for sets to see what I'm missing without building any sets for months, so I pulled out the pieces for 6278. Along with my pirate ships, this was one of the largest sets I owned in my childhood. I used to make stop motion videos of the islanders against the pirates using a camera that weighed about 10 pounds. There's a VHS tape around somewhere with what could become The LEGO Pirates Movie. I will need to work on the special effects, though.1 point
