The whole point of blind packaging is to have consumers spend more than they normally would to get what they want. If TLG wanted everyone to pick the ones they wanted they could have made them individually labeled foil packs with the character on the front. Sure, some people can feel what they need and it's easy for them, but the average person has no idea how to do this and they just buy them blindly.3 points

Hi everyone, I'm new to Brickpicker and have been enlightened by all of the insightful feedback on collecting and local discounts! I have been AFOL my whole life and have really gotten back into it of late with my three kids who can't get enough Lego! I am interested in buying Lego to continue to build with my kids but also for investments. Looking forward to contributing to the forum and continuing to learn from all of you.2 points

The Australian and New Zealand markets are the bane of LEGO's existence. Our proximity to their major distribution warehouses and the diversity of population, lack of physical or corporate presence here either through B&M stores or an Australian based call centre makes us a sitting target for inventory reduction. I believe, in line with their new stance of inventory management, AUS and NZ will see a lot more of an online only presence of the full range of stock that LEGO has to offer (as we seen with Red Creatures, etc). Our retiring soon will expand with not coming back to your local store again.2 points

I googled this address, it appears like a forward warehouse to me. Basically, people make purchase and have you ship to a address registered in tax-free state. This address assigns buyer a weird number as the recipient name, sorta like what's shown in your picture. I have dealt with a similar situation before, an address in OR tho. Never had problem.1 point

Those reviews that WhiteFang does over on Eurobricks are great. They're essentially the best reference out there (that I know of) for the CMF line, and I think he's done every series - even the rarer ones like the UK Olympics team. As for distribution, I do think Lego has gotten better with this as the series have rolled on. For years you could count on the costumed figures being (tied) for the rarest in the box, but that has started to change recently. The vast majority of the series had three full sets in each box, and then some extras. I'm almost certain this has been true for all the licensed lines, even Disney. I haven't gone to double check my memory, but I want to say that Lego did three series in which there were only two sets in a box - I'm going to say that was series 9, 10 and 11. Series 10 was the absolute worst experience (pictured a few posts above) with six figures that only came 2 per box, and then four figures that were 6 per box. Now, they could argue that one would army build the soldiers, and maybe the baseball players, but no one army builds mechanics or skydivers. I think I've still got 30+ of those stupid blue skydivers sitting around! I've always been very thankful that they went back to three full sets per box, but the days of 2 figures per box is on the horizon if reports of a 22 figure Harry Potter series turn out to be true.1 point

Not a chance that The LEGO Group is interested in making it easier to get the strongly desired minifigures from blind bags. They're interested in making money and making it harder to get the more desired ones is a tactic used by just about any loot bag, gacha game, blind pack or mystery whatever available to consumers. This tactic leads to making money. Here's a good article about it .. I suggest you read the entire thing objectively and come back and type with a straight face that you think she's being honest. https://www.bigfishgames.com/blog/what-are-blind-box-mystery-mini-toys/1 point

I really like a lot of the anniversary stuff I've seen, but I think its mostly just a feeling of nostalgia. I imagine tons of these will be snatched up by collectors and re-sellers that the market will be too flooded to make anything on them.1 point

The emoji would have helped, yes. This was not the first time I had seen this topic brought up by you so it seemed like there was an agenda. If it's an honest question, carry on. As others have said, Lego generally makes their "female" figures with makeup, eyelashes, longer/styled hair, and the torso will be printed to be more shapely As many have said here and other threads, the beauty of Lego is that you can make the figures whomever you want with the quick switch of a part. My guess from the looks of it is that the pot goes over the legs and the flower fits over the head. Looks like 2 separate pieces. I really like this series. They have shown more originality and new parts than some other series that have retreads and alt gender figures (I.E male/female robot, space person, tennis player, etc)1 point

There are usually several indicators that show gender specific minifigs. Eyelashes for one of course. Sometimes there is extra make up like lipstick would typically be female. Facial hair like beard stubble would be considered male. Then there are times when the face is just a simple smiley face like the police officer which could be considered gender neutral and you can choose to do whatever you want with it. Even if those features weren't enough, there are hair, torso, and costume options that can relatively determine gender. Head piece is not the only factor. In the end, a minifigure is not male or female, it is a collection of pieces that presents a view of the creator's vision. What does the phrase "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts" mean? It means that there is such a connection among the individual items that it is better than what each one would be individually. This is known as synergy.1 point

Not investment worthy but still cool. This could mean we will get more anniversary sets. Some 80s space stuff would be phenomenal.1 point

I just received a return request for a green she hulk minifigure I sold. This is what the customer stated in their return and I quote: Hello I received a Lego SheHulk in the mail, but unfortunately you sent the she Hulk with an angry face instead of the smiling one that I purchased. See attached for a pic of the one I received. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry at this point1 point

Finished this up last week - hands down one of favorite sets, both in terms of the building process as well as the final result. If you are on the fence at all, I highly recommend it! It would be nice if LEGO put out a descent small sail boat to go with this - I have some of the recent Fishing Boats stored away, but somehow one of those just doesn't seem to do this set justice...1 point

I got the Grievous speeder at Wal-Mart today. I tried to place it, I think it is from the Tartakovsky series. Even at 20% off it's still about $4 too much1 point

I'v decided to take the plunge and convert my garage into an office / occasional bedroom. I'm allowed 3 metres of bespoke Lego shelving not bad for a room that will be 2.1 metres x 5 metres). I'll post some progress photos over the next couple 2 or 3 weeks. Day one: batons, insulation and plasterboard.1 point

Best: 3 for 2 on 2017 Lego MInecraft (Ice Spikes, Witch Hut and Jungle Temple). Bought loads last month. Looking very promising. Worst: 3 for 2 on Ninjago LIghthouse Seige. Buy in price was £30 and sold for £40 in May. Now approaching £100. Missed a bucket load of other Ninjago stuff at very good discount. I knew the movie was coming and never gave them consideration. Very short-sighted.1 point
