  1. Can't you just explain the process, send him an invoice and somehow deduct what he already paid? Sounds like just a newbie mistake....no need to cancel the order straightaway

  2. I just received a return request for a green she hulk minifigure I sold. This is what the customer stated in their return and I quote: Hello I received a Lego SheHulk in the mail, but unfortunately you sent the she Hulk with an angry face instead of the smiling one that I purchased. See attached for a pic of the one I received. I don’t know if I should laugh or cry at this point

  3. Phil in particular has gone out of his way putting together some great entry-level-primer posts. Just look up his history. But I’m with him 100%. Some of us have spent years sharing our insights & contributing to the community (and buying raffle tickets!). It’s borderline offensive to suggest we should just encapsulate it all in a single on-request reply.

  6. sell it on eBay individually, it'll be worth your time, you're not talking about a lot of sets here. I think you'd get at least 75% of the Brickfolio value.

  7. So you're saying your customer doesn't like She-Hulk when she's angry? ???

  9. Yes, things have changed. There’s now a seller verification step and nobody answers emails with queries as to status. I added inventory, set shipping rates, and (as far as I can tell according to the FAQ) met their requirements for new sellers but my store remains “closed” with no option to open it. 10. Thanks to "The_Collector" for helping me see the light with this forum and other sites to find deals. My main intent for now is to expand my personal collection since now that I can actually afford larger sets and feed my Lego addiction. As for possibly reselling, we'll see how things go. This site and others have opened my eyes to a whole new world. (cue Aladdin music)

  11. Yeah, that makes a lot more sense. I contacted them offering them both options, paying incrementally OR just refunding and invoicing. In retrospect, I should've just done the refund right away. If I don't get a response in 24 hours of my contact, I'll automatically refund them.

  12. Best practice is to refund the original payment, and have them repay in full, not try to pay the incremental amount separately. This avoids issues with NPB/NSS claims, and if for some reason you needed to claim seller protection reimbursement from PayPal, they would likely only pay one of the amounts.

  14. I think it's going to peak and trough. Last year's sets were dire investments on the whole unless you managed to get good discounts that weren't widely available. Those performances seem to have scared a few people off with this year's big box retirements, so because of fewer sellers this year's sets "may" perform better. The problem is, if they do perform everyone will pile back on the bandwagon next year.

  16. I ran into this a few days ago. I don't think it's a glitch. Apparently FedEx changed their SmartPost pricing to use dimensional weight similar to FedExGround. In other words, shipping those SmartPost packages coast to coast has doubled. "Potentially one of the most impactful changes comes with the announcement that FedEx will begin applying a dimensional weight (DIM) factor of 139 to all SmartPost packages effective Jan. 22. The change will align SmartPost dimensional weight pricing with that of FedEx Express and FedEx Ground. It also more closely aligns FedEx SmartPost DIM pricing with that of UPS SurePost, although UPS still has a higher DIM factor for packages measuring less than 1 cubic foot. As of this writing, UPS has not announced its 2018 rate changes." http://multichannelmerchant.com/blog/analysis-of-fedex-gri-dim-charge-for-smartpost-in-2018/

  17. They used a walsall address and a leicestershire street name and post code. I then did a user information request (under advanced search) which came up as walsall. I didn't need to do this on this occasion as it was an obvious scam, but I always search their surname and postcode too on 192.com to check there is a valid record. If not i hold onto the parcel for 3 days before sending it out. 15 minutes after i cancelled the order I received a MC139 Alert from ebay saying the transaction took place without the owners permission.

  18. If it helps ask your friends to keep by any V08 boxes they get from Amazon for you, you will be able to send one of these (or other sets at this size under 1.5kg) under the 2KG price bracket. I usually don't bother keeping used boxes, but i do in this instance as you can't buy them, they save you £5 on shipping each time.

  19. I was able to pick up one Ninjago Movie - Destiny's Bounty to build for myself at $85. I plan to start it tonight and will take me a few evenings (only 2-3 bags a night when I have time), so I will put a few pics up next week most likely. Only Ninjago set I have ever bought. Only got it to go with my Black Pearl, Silent Mary and later on the Queen Anne.

  20. Finally got to put together 21018 UN Headquarters, which I picked up for £10 from a charity shop a few months back. Used, but the box was mint so had every chance - happily it is complete with no yellowing and absolutely mint! Not my thing generally, but it looks rather good ??

  23. I'm sorry, but what sort of question is this? Since you say you are coming back, you must have had some method of determining what to invest in before. Do you really think serious people here are going to pre-chew this info for you so all you need to do is buy? I would suggest you spend some time the next few weeks reading the history in some of the key threads here and then working it out for yourself. I'm afraid this party is no longer accepting new guests without poneying up the membership fee.

  26. A colleague of mine at work would also like to start selling through Bricklink but has the same problem. I think the new rules are that you must get some positive feedback first (as a buyer) before you can start selling on Bricklink... That's annoying for new BL members who don't want to buy, just sell, but that's how it is now, as far as I know.

  28. The prices for these have already dropped precisely because every seller is panicking about the new set coming out, so they're all undercutting each other.

  31. To me, this entire thread is crap, but if people are interested in talking about it, it is a hot topic today. I would recommend that no one takes any advice from anything in this thread. Talk about it, go nuts.

  32. Yeah! Egghead is here! Decided to jump on a price match to Walmart and used a 20% off gift card, so Egghead was $19.20. I had to build him before@Alpinemaps had the chance, so here he is. Cool set and Condiment King is a nice bonus.

  33. I don't know what the total cost will be as i already had 40% of the parts in my inventory. I was also buying parts for a Winter Cafe, Winter Red Cottage, Detention Block and other parts for my Winter village at the same time. All of this cost ~ £700 in total (60% of Barad Dur, the 3 other builds, and general parts to create snow, roads, paths and trees). At a guess i think it could be done for £600 (maybe less in North America) as long as you substituted all the rare parts, although you will need at least 2 of the 6x6 Cut-Corner Wedge Plate (6106) in dark-bluish gray for one of the upper floors, the lower floors can easily be swapped using a mix of 3x3 corner plates and 3x3 plates. You will also need a mix of dark gray bricks and plates to strengthen the build in places. Unfortunately being in the UK means shipping from the USA and Canada is expensive, so it ended up being split across 29 sellers in the EU. It may be half that in North America. 34. My 60+ dad (being an absolute Solar / Wind / Alternate Energy Enthusiast) got from us a new LEGO Education (Energy) set and he couldnt resist and built this wind turbine within less than an hour.. I wouldnt expect that (so soon) .. so I think that besides he is really skilled it was an amazing xmas gift.. now he is waiting for some serious wind on the balcony to get some reading from the propellers on the attached energy meter (which was included in the set).. ?
