As a fan I love this set. The vehicles, minifigures, and Batcave section are the highlights for sure. Wayne Manor leaves something to be desired, but the study with the secret entrance was such a focal point of the show so I'm glad it's in here and with great detail. The build comes off a bit disjointed, but that's due to them trying to accomplish both the mansion and Batcave in one set at this price point. I did buy a set early on and sold off the minifigures and vehicles in hopes that one day I'll MOC something more complete with two sets. To answer your question though, I wouldn't invest much in this. It's been discounted for a while and still can't sell out if that tells you anything. There are better places to put your money, but it's absolutely worth it for your collection.4 points

Bought this for 110 at my local thrift store. Used, and guessing that it is all there. T4 points

So right now it´s basically like buying Angry Birds or Lego batman Movie at half price. You know it was worth more and might be worth more again but there is a nagging suspicion that no one will want it at all and that in a few weeks it will be marked down to 70% off and then 3 cents....3 points

Wish I had a killer coupon to giveaway for a KMT trivia question...but since they don't give those away any more I'll just provide the question & answer... Where is the most successful KMT location, it's even open 24 hours? Answer: Google these coordinates 13.4443° N, 144.7937° E Not exactly the answer I expected. Came across this tidbit when looking at the WSJ home page a bit ago.2 points

Or Bricklink for even less or at Target Clearance for nothing. I guess Amazon.com inspires confidence as buyers know Jeff has their backs regarding scams. Ebay is still the wild west in comparison.2 points

all fba Ariels undersea palace 41063 $149.99 x 3. ($35 buyin). i think this one could make it to $200 level + with seller count getting down to 20. this is usually time when get quick /large price appreciation. ariel is super popular and with all the other castles filling the lineup, a remake is pushed off until at least 2019 imo. i have 4 left for "later". Death Star Troopers battlepack 75034 $33.95 x5 - ($5 buyin) Rebel Trooper packs 75164 i bought last week for $5 at walmart clearance , stickered shipped and sold - $22.98 ea x9 fba. 1x Minecraft Desert Outpost on the alternate listing - $79.99 - paid $30 during summer walmart clearance. holding onto the rest of these til later this year . nice to see the alternate listing works since the main one is "unavailable".2 points

5 year hold time? Have fun with that. I'm done holding sets to sell that long. I've been doing this for fun for close to 18 years now. No way I'm holding any set on purpose for 5 years to resell. I'll take a loss and move on before I do that. My timeframe at this point is 2 years or less. Buy at a steep enough discount when possible and if I can sell for msrp or more plus shipping and walk away with 20-50% profit. Sent from my PH-1 using Brickpicker Forum mobile app1 point

They are shelfwarmers. They only sell when heavily discounted, there is very low AFOL appeal and kids are not that interested either now the movie is done. A handful of sets will do OK but how many batmobiles do we really need? That Amazon Uk was GIVING AWAY the catwoman motorcycle tells you a lot.1 point

Run, don´t walk is my advice for all SH sets unless 60% off or more. YMMV1 point

Yep, I think I'll hold for a while. There will be a long queue of people ready to list these at around the the £55-60 mark for an easy £20 profit.1 point

I'm looking on eBay sold listing and I'm reading it as this set is still averaging around £55. It's early days and I'm sure once the flippers are done we'll see it rise some more. I'm forgetting about mine until next Xmas. Sent from my SM-G950F using Brickpicker Forum mobile app1 point

Sets starting to sell at over £70 on ebay in the UK now. Most unsold listing seem to be listed at around £80. That's pretty quick.1 point

Currently building the 75188 Resistance Bomber and I have to say I now actually do understand why this set is on the bit expensive side. There are several bigger pieces used in the construction: And a number of these are also unique for this set... I'm glad I got this set for €70, and am enjoying building it too. Will show a picture of it once it's completed.1 point

I’d say most Star Wars sets are 20% over what most would pay for them. I noticed the new Luke achto set started out at 25.00 at Walmart, while it has a retail price of 30... personally I don’t want to even pay that as I know it will hit under 20. Same goes for the skimspeeder and bomber sets... I’ll buy the bomber when it hits half off at Walmart this upcoming spring or summer clearance. The beatnik atat will also fall well below 80 before all is said and done..1 point

Bricklink considers that a "blocked open" head. There is also "stud recessed" which has the indention but closed inside with the Lego stamp, and then the older solid stud with Lego on top.1 point

Looks legit to me. I have some from my old 80's 90's sets. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626b#T=P1 point

Finally got around to building 70615 Fire Mech. For me it was a must-buy since I saw the first picture of it leaking. So I really was anticipating the build. To make it short: the set didn't disappoint, in fact it's awesome. The mech is quite big, definitely not feeling small at all. The poseability is good enough for my liking. The only critique I have would be the amount of stickers in the set, especially a few larger ones which are more difficult to apply in my opinion. For the picture I mixed in some 70607 Ninjago City Chase as background scenery, and left a few selected minifigs out.1 point

I've had BB8 built for a while now, but i finally finished up "rounding" or "anti-studding" him to better match my rounded dome R2. Didn't turn out as well as R2, but still happy with it. Mostly involved adding small tiles everywhere, but in some cases i did need to take the panels off and modify them a bit to hide some of the bigger studded pieces.1 point

Amazon can be very misleading as they often raise they're original price to make it look like you're saving a lot. The Shield Helicarrier for example was marked up too $461 as the original price on amazon, but would mark it back down to $400 (the actual price) so it would appear as though it was on sale, and the same is happening here. The Yellow Submarine was temporary jacked up too like $200 shortly before christmas, then marked back down to appear as though it was like 70% off! Lol Always double check the Lego website before relying on Amazon's prices... they're often the best prices, but they're also often the most misleading!1 point

Just seen the pics - the TIE looks remakably like a small version of the UCS one. Still looks good though. Not a fan of any of the others - the falcon looks bizarre to me without its pincers and colouring. Why mess with such an iconic, classic vehicle ? except of course to make an excuse to make a load of new falcon toys to sell.1 point

We didn't have Netflix and the amount of content back then. We'd watch Mary Poppins, Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, The Sound of Music, Battlestar Galactica, and Star Wars on any given night. Oh, and Wide World of Sports.1 point

75173 Luke's Landspeeder is such a hot seller that it is important that 2 more be on the market. How could it possibly fail? I'm excited for them release "Mos Eisley Cantina Parking Garage" - Overflow parking for all your landspeeders!1 point

You came on very strong in your post about how you couldn't believe that people got excited about double-VIP (with no qualifiers). You then proceeded to say that you get all your sets from factory workers who get theirs for 50% off, in a manner that made it sound like this was something available to everyone (instead of only local to people close to a LEGO plant). You even illustrated this with the Silent Mary, which was listed for 35% off on a local marketplace. Then, a mere minutes later, you called out one of the other members here on their statement that they sold hundreds of Saturn Vs, going as far as calling them a liar. There are better ways to make the, otherwise valid, point that for set with general availability there are better discounts to be had than double-VIP.1 point

really great, no stock in Europe. And if, we dont have double points already (why stopped 10 days before USA ?!) These are the moments, when I wish L-E-P-I-N will kill Lego due this absolute ignorancy of non-US markets. Especially Asia is on ignore list of TLG (highest prices, no discounts, poor distribution, no stores). So lets take it, bogus bricks.1 point

Really to those that thought it wouldn't be like this, I say tough cookie. I completely expected this and it's why I hunted day and day out to look for this prior to release. So glad I managed to get my two. My Dad was at a Barnes and Noble yesterday and they still had their two. Today gone. Everywhere I look it's sold out now, quite the wide distribution net on release date as well. I tried to tell people on Reddit, but just got the cold shoulder that nah, this won't be hard to find. To those looking; Target: 204-00-0933 Toys R Us: 282741 Walmart: 55231379 Barnes: 673419277150 (UPC) Amazon: B01MUANC801 point
