It all depends on stock levels. Lego may struggle to sell it so much that it goes into the sale. Or stocks could get wiped out before then, unlikely as outs not a popular set but styrene things hasten when sets are retiring. If it's a set you really must have then probably best to take this deal.3 points

what is in 2026? it is about 20 percent higher for oversize items and that is a big 1 year jump. In addition they are changing the way they calculate dimensional weight and that is i believe a additional 20 percent higher in the weight Also their rate of increase of growing.they started with small changes and they are accelerating their rate of increase. In a few years it wouldn't shock me if they were closer to double what they are now. Any decent size seller will be paying amazon thousands more per year in fulfillment costs and that comes straight out of your bottom line. I think at this time with this increase it would probably be cheaper to self ship most oversize items depending on the distance but then you have to deal with the hassle. they are also going to be raising storage fees I suspect a huge jump. They dont want products sitting in their warehouses they just want what will sell quick This should serve to remind you that amazon is not your business partner they are here to make money off of you if there ever becomes a time that they dont see any profit from you they can just send you packing2 points

Because it's half a vehicle. If they had made it with a breakaway top to re-create the scene, then fine, but this thing is dumb. Like you said, it has good figures. Star Wars has gone the way of Superheroes and put decent figure selection with a POS set. I'll Bricklink the 2 figures I want and leave the set for the clearance bin which is exactly where this set is headed.2 points

I listed a badly damaged box at retail about a week ago. Thought I’d get someone to bite in the post Christmas market (box damaged stuff always seem to do well in Jan) Sold in an hour. Stunning for a set that was available at Argos 3/2 at £52 per in July.1 point

Is that what those were? They looked like two giant squares to me at the time.1 point

Let's hope LEGO learns from the lack of interest in this promo and won't make yet another version of it next year. Knowing the stubbornness of TLG, that hope is vain.1 point

You can deduct all the expenses that went into selling. Don’t forget shipping supplies. You can also deduct credit card interest if applicable. I also deduct part of my utilities (Internet primarily) and expense part of my computer since I primarily use it for eBay. I even have a dedicated shipping computer that is 100% expensed as well as the printer and toner I use with it. I don’t deduct my home office. Here’s why: you can only really deduct and save so much from your home office. But, once you treat that square footage as a business expense, it will be difficult to convert that back to a non-business asset when you get out of selling on eBay. And as a business asset, you do not get the write off of any gains if you sell your home for that portion of the house. So, if your home has gone up in value, the taxes on the equity you’ve gained may be more than you would ever save as writing it off as a business asset. btw, income tax is easy. The tricky bit is if you have to file sales tax to your state. For example, in California, you have to register with the state board of equalization and submit sales tax on a annual schedule based on your sales amount. And when you do, that often triggers the county or city you live in to check your business license status and they will ask you ever politely to get a license. If you haven’t collected sales tax, at least many states will let you deduct the sales tax you paid when acquiring the sets towards the sales tax you should have collected. And if you shipped out of state primarily, that can bring the amounted owed to zero. At least that’s how it has worked every year for me. Although it’s still a pain to have to itemize every set and whether or not it was sold in or out of state and how much sales tax was paid on it originally. Also be prepared for self employment tax (social security x2 since you are employee plus employer) and Medicare taxes. And your LEGO profits will be taxed at your marginal tax bracket as additional ordinary income. It’s good you are asking. If you have good documentation and do everything by the book, it’ll take time, but it’s not terribly complicated. I use turbo tax and have never needed a professional. But I also did lots of research into the tax laws and keep meticulous details of my purchases and sales in a spreadsheet that I update on each transaction. I then create a new spreadsheet every year that has all of my itemized paypal transactions — so that the figure PayPal sends to the IRS is fully accounted for.1 point

I tried something like this (hair dryer) on a B&N clearance set and it got silver sticker off, but left residue that wouldn't come off. I haven't tried the baking soda/oil over the residue though. I just put a post-it over the residue and told myself to never do it again, the sticker wasn't *that* bad. My TRU order says "backordered". I called Target CS and asked if they would do a price match to TRU. He put me on hold came back and said normally they wouldn't price match on out of stock, but they would make an exception this one time. So I placed the order (for 4 sets) and then he looked up my order and i heard a pause... and he said he needed to put me on hold. Fearing the worst he came back on a minute later and said he credited my order the difference. So I ended up with four sets at $43 each shipped. I'd like to go back to the store that wouldn't price match my 1 set because it was "Christmas season" and show her my order with a "how do you like them apples?"... but I know it wouldn't mean anything except to me.1 point

Welcome to the rabbit hole, @donehoarding. To get started, I recommend you assemble a spreadsheet of your sets and list how much you wish for them. Include Set Number, Set Name, Condition (Used or New), and Asking Price. Be open to negotiation for the prices of your sets that you're clearing out. Most fellow BrickPickers understand the needs of profit as well as time to ship and handle products, all within reason of course.1 point

I picked up Assault on Hoth #75098 this past Saturday at my local LEGO store. Was out to get my Gingi and they had it on sale for $175. Had $15 in rewards so I used that along with the free mini London bus offer. I should have gotten an extra 100 points according to website (bonus on any Star Wars sets), so I have to call about that. States cannot be combined with any other VIP offer. Maybe that is why it did not kick in? Anyway, I've been wanting this set, but only if under $200. I don't have any prior Hoth sets as I just starting collecting last Christmas.1 point

Neither did I which is why I didn't start to buy in earnest until I saw empty shelves and sold out online retailers. There wasn't quite enough meat on the bone to make it worth cleaning out B&N at 20% off, though.1 point

Hamley's, the famous toy store on Regent Street in London, now has its own exclusive minifigure, a royal guard. It's similar to the one in collectable minifigures series 5, 8805 Royal Guard, but with a happier expression and a couple of medals on its chest. It's thought it'll retail for £6.1 point
