Like an idiot, I first tried scanning the barcode on the scanner itself without success before a nice employee showed me the scanning gun attached to register. Worked like a charm after that. Picked up a 75151 Tank for son as Xmas gift. Side story: Nice old, 80+ grandma was creeping down LEGO aisle and fixed her eyes on the 75190 FO Finalizer. Bent down to see $159.99 price and just slowly mumbled "you gotta be sh*ttin me. He's getting a basketball instead." Poor Timmy.7 points

Even with a remote, there is still the chance the train might go flying off the table that you have the track on, sending it careening off the side because you're testing to see how fast it can take the curves. Or so I've heard. From a friend.6 points

Target "green Monday" deal is $20 off every $100 spent on Target.com. I could not find any exclusions. https://corporate.target.com/article/2017/12/green-monday?clkid=42f954c0N98e4c3b55d9a161e3e4c60f1&lnm=81938&afid=Hip Happenings LLC&ref=tgt_adv_xasd00026 points

London bus & the VIP set are great little add-ons indeed! The Wu keychain on the other hand, I'm quite certain has been covertly designed to damage boxes in transit... I suspect during the trip he's been specifically tasked to bounce around in there, do'n all kinds of ninja stuffs, to scratch, ding & dent everything as much as possible; likely to deter resale upon arrival.5 points

I didn't get a volvo 42053 yet, so grabbed one for $65 after coupon, from TRU. Using@cladner math, that's like 125% off3 points
-
was given this coupon from walmart when i picked up a site to store. asked for a couple of more and was given a small stack which i will put to good use. good for 10% off up to $20 per order. each has a unique code. then i opened the box up and there was unexpected $5 walmart gift card sitting on the ferrari's. might be worth seeing if you can get a few at the site to store if you are going by a store - ymmv.2 points

Well it is nice to see that people are willing to pay RRP for these Bodes well for post-retirement appreciation2 points

just keep an eye out for a deal on 60051, 60052 or 60098. found a 60051 at walmart for $60 last year and used that for the christmas train, and have seen both 60052 and 60098 for around $100 with gcs and sales. the power functions and track in 60052 would run you close to $100 retail.2 points

the found some defect or safety issue. probably an issue with pod or stickers, since those are likely outsourced, and the rest are pretty generic parts. though looking at it its possible their are just issues with the pod closing and the parts inside not fitting right, if vader is not put in just right. https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-star-wars-darth-vader-pod-5005376-promotion-cancelled/ these are likely to turn up at TRU or Target anyway though, if its not a major issue...2 points

This is a more in depth clarification and comparison between old and new: http://brickingaround.com/2017/12/06/lego-friends-team-addresses-the-2018-friends-redesigns/ Regarding the impact ... For the short-term it depends on whether the parents/children feel positive or negative about this change. Those who feel negative about the change will have a preference for the older sets, while those who like the change will develop a preference for the new sets. For the longer term though new generations of kids will grow up with the new minidolls and their new looks, and they will consider those as the standard. They will more likely reject older sets which include the older, different looking, minidolls. Ultimately though it depends on how much little girls playing with these sets really care about these minidolls, their names and physical appearances.2 points

I love having a DC nearby. Package filled with sets bought in the last 2 weeks, shipped on Tuesday, delivered next day and checked in two hours later. All but one set sold 24hrs later, 150% ROI ready to be paid out in 2 weeks from now. Love the efficiency ....1 point

For me this set continues to disappoint. It has to be the worst performance to expectations (in my mind) ROI. Prices continue to drop this holiday season from $325 to $270 Ebay USA with very few sales recorded as all the "better then gold" crew continue to try and unload their stock. Amazon has 6 sellers with 57 units at lowest FBA $319 and rank 50% worse then ToO. They take up too much space collect dust and even the scammers don't want them. At least with Nexo my buy in was 70% off or better and there were no expectations.1 point

1. if one can't stay in business without the daily reimbursement then there is something seriously wrong. 2. if one has small or large enough business then there should be a way to get revolving credit to use to get inventory if you have to and if that revolving credit is equal to or more than your monthly gross sales then why would one need to get access to funds on daily basis? 3. paying someone else to get your own money [ albeit sooner ] is basically throwing $$ in sand in my pov. look at the crap .... once i ask them to send my inventory back since they have been playing the game of stranded. here is the latest update ....1 point

Depending on who is at the register, you can stack and even if it is at rrp, you can pick up a few retiring sets. I picked up the last of the indominus Rex and t-Rex tracker sets from my local store.1 point

From that same page: And, if you’re shopping for toys, you won’t want to miss this week-long deal—available in stores and online Sunday, Dec. 10, through Saturday, Dec. 16: Spend $50 on toys, save $10; spend $100 on toys, save $25. Please note, this toy sale cannot be combined with the Green Monday offer.1 point

So you basically made $100 profit on your Palace Cinema in the span of a week? You are good at the quick flip, and you didn't even have to deal with a customer. Well done!1 point

If you're just getting into lego and want to try out some of the cool building techniques, try one of the Creator Modular sets. If you don't want to shell out for a new one quite yet, check used versions. These models tend to use unique building technique; last thing you want is to spend a bunch on bricks and then have a building with no variation in texture.1 point

Meijer has a stacking opportunity today thru the weekend. Bogo40%off on friends, city, creator and duplo combined with Santa Bucks. Some sets are already discounted before the sale, like 41127 puppy daycare or the Creator lodge (needed a customer service override in my store as the BOGO didn't activate on this set) and hit the $24.99 sweet spot perfectly. $10 in BOGO savings if you buy 2, $5 and $3 in Santa Bucks, and 2x$5 in sale price savings means you pay $32 total for $60 MSRP (48% off)1 point

Where are you located? I'm sure a local picker would love to have first crack at them, and any sales for cash with no selling fees is a win win for everyone involved. This would be my approach as well. I'm forty and I still have all of my sets from the eighties when I grew up, but only because my parents saved them for me. I'm so glad that they did, because now that I have two kids of my own I was able to get them all back out and build them again. My kids and I created a huge city layout combining the classic town sets that were mine and some of the newer City sets. Most importantly, we had a blast doing it. My kids are 12 and 11 and have already entered their dark ages, so the hundreds of sets in their collection are in storage until it's time to pass everything onto the grandkids. I feel it's my duty to save them and pass them on since my parents did the same for me. Lego truly is a timeless toy.1 point
