  1. Women of Nasa. It's the new 2018 calendar I'm ordering. I hope my wife doesn't get jealous.

  2. Like an idiot, I first tried scanning the barcode on the scanner itself without success before a nice employee showed me the scanning gun attached to register. Worked like a charm after that. Picked up a 75151 Tank for son as Xmas gift. Side story: Nice old, 80+ grandma was creeping down LEGO aisle and fixed her eyes on the 75190 FO Finalizer. Bent down to see $159.99 price and just slowly mumbled "you gotta be sh*ttin me. He's getting a basketball instead." Poor Timmy.

  5. After 2 hours with customer service trying to find what happened to my Palace Cinema (88 dollar cyber monday deal). They determined that it was forever lost. And out of stock. They escalated me to level 2 then level 3 customer service. In the end, got left with a refund of cash plus 100 dollar courtesy credit for me to spend to get a brick bank or anything else I want to get from their amazon prime line up. Not bad.

  10. Honestly, I'm still in denial. This year my business grew by an unreasonable amount and don't have the capacity or infrastructure to manage it. Weathering the storm through the holidays. If some of the more experienced volume sellers would be willing to give me some advice, please PM me, I am considering going full time and have some questions. Side note: When do storage fee's hit for November?

  12. i'ts been this way for a year. if you click on approval it asks you to upload invoices. hit cancel. this is the reason why i didn't buy any of these for resale. probably a good idea to go through and add all the sets you plan on selling on amazon early with placeholder in case a gate comes down like sandcrawler.

  15. With just over 3 weeks left before end of year and the way the deals have been this season, I feel like someone will look at their sales goals for the year and just shout out "F@&* IT" and push that super deal button.

  16. Exactly! When the (perceived) value of a LEGO set far exceeds the enjoyment someone has in actually building it, then the Lego stopped being a building-set and became an investment object. The purpose of an investment object is to keep it in pristine condition with the purpose of selling it in at a future date for an increased price. When the Taj Mahal set was a rare set, people coveted to HAVE it as an investment object, believing it would increase in value over time. That made the demand for it. Now that 10256 Taj Mahal is available for everyone, there aren't actually that many who genuinely want to build and display it.

  17. yes much better for us all to wait and sell at the same time at the same price. what kind of market would that be? besides you can still find spaceport's on the shelf at legendary mom and pop pharmacy, right? next to the shelf full of 10667's i'm guessing.

  18. Thank you! I wanted one of these, more for completeness than anything but I have always liked the look of the original tie fighter. Let’s not forget they also make that fantastic ‘swooshing’ noise as they travel through the vacuum of space...!

  19. May be more for personal build than investment but..... 75095 UCS Tie fighter down to 149.99 and 20 quid gift card on top. Available for delivery at the moment.

  22. Cool thank you. I had not been buying these either but I had to at $75 each. I'll throw em on ebay once supply dries up a bit.

  23. Your right, why would you. If you keep doing that even 6 times a year and keep reinvesting in stock you will do very well. GL

  24. No, I don’t think that. I do think that they’ll do okay after retirement. It might take time though. How well? I have no idea......I guess I’m optimistic. It’s no Exosuit, I can tell you that.

  28. Where are you located? I'm sure a local picker would love to have first crack at them, and any sales for cash with no selling fees is a win win for everyone involved. This would be my approach as well. I'm forty and I still have all of my sets from the eighties when I grew up, but only because my parents saved them for me. I'm so glad that they did, because now that I have two kids of my own I was able to get them all back out and build them again. My kids and I created a huge city layout combining the classic town sets that were mine and some of the newer City sets. Most importantly, we had a blast doing it. My kids are 12 and 11 and have already entered their dark ages, so the hundreds of sets in their collection are in storage until it's time to pass everything onto the grandkids. I feel it's my duty to save them and pass them on since my parents did the same for me. Lego truly is a timeless toy.

  35. Smyths cleared out the castles for £30, when the buy in is low even turds can make money. Hell i've even made money on the 1 and only Rebel Combat Frigate i've bought. That in itself is a miracle.

  36. I accept your opinion. I have just wanted to show that Beatles can have big potential and have some advantages in comparsion with WallE. Even the fans from Beatles age are old, they have still a lot of fans and it is a legend, maybe the biggest music legend. Its a Star Wars in pop music :-) WallE is just 1 movie from many similar. But the lego world has its own rules and even a bionicle or elves set can have bigger grow than a perfect AFOL set :-)

  37. Hello all - my wife falling pregnant a year ago reignited my inner lego spark, having been obsessed as a child. My big box of bits was tipped out and over some months the pieces put back together to make most of the sets I could remember using online instructions (boxes and paper instructions long gone!). Research led me here, and to brickowl where I got missing parts. One thing has led to another, and now I have been buying and flipping sets for a couple of months, with the initial intention to supplement my own now growing collection of new sets. Over the last few weeks it has picked up a fair pace. Thank you for the help so far and for helping to bring back the AFOL in me. The baby was born a girl, which has led to some diversification!

  38. Not that many would care but... Whoever will put "retired" and a picture for one EU or NA LEGO Shop at Home that I do not remember seeing before will get a "Thanks" medal from me

  39. When we hit January 1, I'll restart this thread with those "rules" in place. And we'll keep it clean so it's just the set and the retirement date (and the region), along with a screenshot. Otherwise, the post will be deleted. I will even sticky it to the top of the forum. Carry on until then.
