Been up for a while, but the kids had finally left it in a state that worked for pictures (after a few adjustments). Still don’t know where the train and station will fit. Currently built with no home.4 points

25% off RRP at a local Mom and Pop. They have a rewards program now, so I generated a few $10 off gift cards to stack on these. Effectively the gc at least took care of quite a bit of the sales tax. I finally unloaded the truck.4 points

Here's a 3x RRP set: Sold my 31043 Chopper Transporter - $29 FBA (buy-in was $4.50 after tax at KMart clearance earlier this month).2 points

I am seeing this set EVERYWHERE now. Even some notoriously scalping shops are selling it for RRP. It´s going to be a long year for anyone who went in big on these. Maybe even longer.2 points

TRU is bankrupt because years ago they borrowed $7 billion to go private at a cost of $500 million in interest per year and they never paid it down at all and blew that money on nothing business related rather than on improving the business.2 points

Good riddance. Judging by the difficulty they could get rid of this and the performance of the Tumbler I do not have much hope for this set. Personally I think it is a fun albeit imperfect set, but I am not the market. I have one for my collection and that's it.2 points

It was on sale, dude. They lower the limit to avoid them going into the hands of reseller scum and they have a set number of units at sale price. No idea. Wait a few days and they´ll all be back to normal.1 point

They have probably made more models of T1 than the real thing. That is certainly true with Tower Bridge!1 point

There is a ski-out between the cottage and post office to get to town! We’ve been sorting bricks lately and have separated all the white bricks and plates ... next years will be even bigger (but I won’t add that silly friends chair lift) and I think we’ll have enough to cover the plates and make it all white!1 point

2 months after delivery : u don’t have to accept they can still file a claim that u should be able win fairly easily ( Amazon might still fund them from their own pocket ) since it is open, I would politely refuse the request and point out amazon’s return policy .1 point

No no no, you couldn't imagine how many people do this. Sometimes when I go for online pickup, I listen to what people are doing. There are a bunch of mommies always squeezing pennies especially in the lower mainland. They would grab flying and start lecturing the manager. Sometimes the manager might say sorry and throw in some free gifts to shut them up. This isn't even with lego, this is with a bunch of playschool stuff which makes me roll my eyes. Anyhow, getting back on track, the only thing I can really see TRU blow out would be the batcave as all the other supposedly soon to retire sets are oos. I was going to pull the same move on the kwik-e-mart and thought I could wait and get it for 169.98 bogo 50%. That strategy failed. Just keep searching the lego exclusives and hard to find, there must be something going for bogo 50% on cyber sunday-night/monday. Start hitting refresh at 8:30pm PST.1 point

I've got 75201 showing as a diorama set, it may contain an AT-ST but can't see it being full size (75201) – described as a diorama looking set, I guess it has something to do with the set depicting a particular background similar to that of the Battle on Takodana (75139) and Battle on Scarif (75171) sets. 75201 is said to feature a redesigned Captain Phasma, and First Order disguised Finn and Rose. Images of these minifigures have been circulating via Instagram so its just a matter of clicks before you can find them.1 point

What always surprises me the most about Ex's trips in his DeLorean is how pristine the boxes are.1 point

Man, that was a good video. I really enjoyed that. Interesting that the one designer had a street art background - it really comes through on this build.1 point

Easily the best designer video format. There’s personality and style here that we’ve never seen in a designer video. The production is also really polished - nicely done.1 point

Sea Cow came like 1 month after release, not 9-ish. Separately, I do not think that TLBM line would be watered down. Most sets are quite good and creative, definitely at least on the level of TLM sets. Three years ago this quality would have been considered outstanding. The problem is that general set quality increased so much in the recent years, that the bar to capture out appreciation has moved even higher. This creates a perception of oversaturation for the run-of-the-mill collector. I see this the reason behind LEGO's increased push for high piece count sets, to capture interest and generate hype, as well designed smaller sets are just too common now. Too bad that they are falling into the same trap, they can't just continue making larger and larger sets.1 point

Just received an email from Lego, saying that this set will be free with any £60 + purchase this weekend. They must have found a glut of extra stock or something.1 point

Rumors are starting to fly a little heavier for a 2018 wave of sets (and a CMF series). Newest rumor is: Five sets for 2018: Justice League Anniversary Party - Superman, Hawkman or Hawkgirl, El Dorado, Green Arrow Egghead Mech - to include Egghead and Condiment King Harley Quinns Attack - Harley, Batgirl Bat-Buggy - includes Captain Boomerang Bat-Space Shuttle - a couple of Batman and Robin variants The CMF series could include Black Canary. These are just the rumors floating around. Subject to change of course. Here's what that Bat-Space Shuttle looked like in the film:1 point
