Finally started building the Sea Cow the kids got me for Father’s Day a couple years ago. I’m about half way done.7 points

No pictures, but my son and I had some quality father-son time yesterday while my wife and daughter were at a Bat Mitsvah. Watched Apollo 13 and built 21309 Apollo Saturn V. What an amazing build and what a fantastic set. Of course, when it was his bed time I was imploring him to leave the built rocket downstairs until we made space for it in his room, but he was stubborn, and the bottom section fell of as he was climbing the stairs. Fortunately fixing it looked daunting but turned out to be no more than 5 mins.4 points

Follow-up on this. After having piss-poor performance on my Sweeps the last few days, I did a little analysis. Looks like there was a sweeps promotion going on during the month of October, as the frequency of wins was higher on both accounts I use during that period. They might have just turned the odds back down. Looking at both accounts, there have always been stretches with small daily wins of $0.5-$1. Red line is number of wins per day (axis on the right), Blue columns are total win value per day (axis on the left). My account: My wife's account: All I did was take the last 3 months points history (somehow this worked today!) directly as a c&p from SYW, dump it into CSV via a text editor, then edit it with LibreOffice (or Excel) to clean it up a bit, apply Pivot Table, filter only on "SYW Sweeps Award" and turn that data into a Column&Line graph.2 points

75204 Sandspeeder This is just upsetting. It's not just about how ugly it looks or the rest of the TLJ sets. It is further confirmation that TLJ is just a reboot of Empire.1 point

i have a number of fbm orders placed early yesterday morning when it was going for just over $100. i have been waiting all day to package these since they don't have to be shipped until tomorrow and assumed i would get some cancellations once the undercutting commenced but knock knock knock so far haven't gotten any cancellations. there are currently zero FBA listings available for purchase on the amazon listing . last time i remember seeing one it was $119. that will change soon .1 point

...... I'm well aware of the current events of this set, i have no intention of flipping any. My post is literally just stating a fact, nowhere does it say you have to buy 500 of these, nor does it offer an opinion, but it is an item of interest and i'm sure someone here would like to know it's in stock, and that you can check local stores stock.... Personally i'm waiting for %15 sale to pick one up for personal build. Comments like these are why we need a "dislike" button ;P1 point

Seems okay for a gift or for a personal build. This set has been 40% off for as long as I can remember, so should be plenty of competition on the secondary market at this price. In my personal experience demand for these sets - plus the sheer number available (too much Minecraft!) scares me away from this.1 point

Target has a free hideous Christmas Tree (Creator 5004934) with qualifying $35 LEGO purchase. Looks like "Qualifying" means select sets from the girls themes (Friends, Elves, Disney Princess). https://www.target.com/pl/210342912#sortBy=bestselling&Nao=0 You can also purchase that hideous Christmas Tree on target.com or Target's eBay store.1 point

My son and I were looking through my miscellaneous boxes of stuff to go through, and we found a used 7623 Indiana Jones Temple Escape I had grabbed off of eBay a couple years ago. No minifigs and no airplane. But it has the important parts. He decided to MOC a little something from it. So here’s his alternative build, with a Speed Champions mini and a Minecraft sword.1 point

Idk was a random theater to give it to compared to AMC and Regal. Then Legoland got a decent amount but never really dispersed. Target had 75k so roughly a third and probably the biggest chunk due to being so old now. It's the highest run of the ones that are able to be figured out but far. Wu keychain is 185k to compare. Pods so far are Batman 70k. Friends and Ninjago range from 125-132k. Haven't seen the nexo yet. Be interesting to see what Vader is when it comes out1 point

From what i've read on other sites, this is not related to the last jedi, but is part of the expanded universe and is a homage to the original sandspeeder by kenner that was never released.1 point

I've only started reselling this year, so my standards are low. If I get buy-in + 50% back after 2 years, that's still way better than the money sitting in a bank account getting below-inflation interest. If this set isn't even worth £110 - £120 two years after retirement I'll eat the boxes. I have flipping to tide me over in the mean time, which is what has served me well so far.1 point

I like the Minecraft sets, but I thought the build for the Ender Dragon was lame. It fell apart so easily and quickly became frustrating.1 point

Not me. Put in 16 orders & only 1 went through. When I called the b&n call center the miserable woman in the other line seemed to take great pleasure in telling me that I was eligible for only 5. Haters & jealously everywhere.0 points
