  1. https://www.ebay.com/itm/282699474388 20% off TRU gift cards... Have to buy at least 2 to get discount. Buy 4 to get $20 off $100. Looks like a frenzy in buying. Buy quick... doesn't look like it'll last....

  2. Given the state of politics in the world, I don't see how that's relevant to LEGO or a good idea.

  3. If you haven't used Google Express recently, or ever, you might be qualified to get an additional 20% off purchases up to $30 off using code NEWEXPRESS20 (one time use per account). The cool thing is, you can use it for LEGO at Walmart and Target. There's already lots of good stuff on sale, some already marked down 30% - 40%. I guess there's also a Discover 20% cashback on Discover Deals for Google Express on some accounts. May have seen an email offer. Wal-Mart Target Get a $130 Destiny's Bounty, $120 AT-M6, $65 BB-8, $70 VW, $70 Winter Train using a combo deal, etc. Your friends and family might have Google accounts too.

  4. Hopefully there is a December blowout of their retiring soon inventory on TRU.com similar to last year. That was a great and expensive morning.

  9. Cleaned out my local LEGO store of 6 of these that magically re-appeared on the shelf at 20% off last week. coupled with 2xVIP and freebies it made for a decent score. So if my store had them then a few other stores may still be sitting on some.

  29. Yes, there are two versions of most Toy Story boxes. IIRC, the blue versions were released first (before the TS3 movie was released), and the white box was released afterwards. It's not a very popular set. Sounds like your buyer was trying to make a complete bundle.

  32. Had an interesting talk with a TRU manager today . Lego rolled out a new inniative since their sales are hurting big time . No more % off across a certain theme , just certain skus a week and need to be approved by Lego. No more coupons , rewards, etc across all chains/retailers . Disclaimer :

  36. Holy moley, what a day .... First my Grand Emporium win (no email from SYW yet), then 2x $26 in free sets, and to top it all off I used the 8% EBay Bucks promo combined with my EBay Bucks certificate plus the TRU 20% off flash sale to complete my daughter's Christmas LEGO wishlist. And it is only just noon EST. Tally so far: 8 LEGO sets "bought" for $22 out of pocket (which all went to the TRU sale via EBay). Still have $25 in SYW points left

  37. That is likely, so quickly stack up from Amazon.co.uk before the borders close and I'm sure the other Amazon's will likely also offer it.

  38. Just a heads up, I've got $20 in unexplained freecash on seemingly any purchase (without coupons) right now on both my account and my wife's account. It doesn't show up in the list of Surprise points offers, just hanging out there in my cart. Probably better just spend it quick, right?

  40. Finally got around to picking up the UCS Snowspeeder. I knew i'd love it, but just couldn't justify picking up without some promos/double VIP. The Snowspeeder was probably my favourite SW vehicle as a kid, i remember bringing one of those Action Fleet Snowspeeders everywhere as a kid. Also going from building 75192 to this was almost laughable. Only 1 bag per step!? what is this a juniors build? ? Guess i'll never again think a set takes too long to build after 75192...

  41. I highly recommend the book/movie Hidden Figures if you want to learn more about Women at NASA especially the contributions of black women. They could have included a lot more minis if they wanted. PS I am the one who edited the first post, stay classy folks.

  42. this set has been a disappointment as an investment . staring at 3 dozen more and the ones sent in to FBA only sell if you are willing to take paltry sums. getting close to cracking the 3rd year post EOL and 1.6x msrp and 2x the permasale price of 54.99 relative to going FBA. i'm sure one day when the seller count dips below 30, people will make decent money, but from a cagr perspective, this is a dud at a buyin over $42. this could possibly be the worst performing 2014 star wars set. i'll have to crunch some numbers. even the stupid salami battle set and santa's workshop kicking mos' arse.

  43. I really enjoyed Rogue One. One of the better crafted and compelling Star Wars movies in a standalone sense. Good characters. Compelling story. Real consequences (hard to achieve when you know the outcome). I was a big fan of Force Awakens initially, but as time passes and its many flaws become apparent, my opinion of it has really fallen off. Its more fan-fiction than anything else. Rey is a complete Mary Sue who can do no wrong. Starkiller base is ridiculous as an idea and gets worse if you try to work out the logic of how and when it got built. Billions of people being murdered was an afterthought and casual fans probably weren't aware that was the capital being destroyed. R2-D2's role can only be understood if you read the book. The whole presence of the First Order and the Resistance really makes no sense and those two entities only seem to exist to replicate the original dynamic from the old movies. It looks like The Last Jedi is trying to rectify the flaws of the Force Awakens. Hopefully Rey finds things to be a little more challenging this time around.

  44. It all started with one of our fish having babies. We separated them in a breeding tank for a couple of days. But that was not enough....my wife and sons teamed up on me and begged for a bigger tank. Next thing I knew...we had decided to not only get a bigger tank, but also decided exactly how we wanted to decorate it. We love our Lego displays, and this was just another creative way to add to the collection. What the hell...right?!! Great build! Very fragile! Great display piece!
