The Brick Classifieds site will be shut down very soon as I will be bringing it into BrickPicker. There will be new sets of rules on how listings are to be posted and payouts to help try and prevent scammers. I will be sending a message out to all vendors on Brick Classifieds just so that they know that their listings will no longer be viewable on that site. The new section on Brick Picker will be simple, yet better in so many ways compared to this site. I will make an announcement in the near future.10 points

My wife and I built the Destiny's Bounty over the weekend (I got through bag 2 and she kicked me off & did the rest). First time she has built a set herself (almost).... It's a beautiful set, most detailed of all the lego ships imho. I sat it next to the Imperial Flagship once I got it to work. The Flagship is still my fav but this easily beats out the potc ships. Can't believe I have a Ninjago set on display! Highly recommend this one.5 points

R1 is a go to Star Wars Movie in our house. I do think Jyn is a compelling character, along with the immediate crew.3 points

Cannot like this enough. R1 was the best Star Wars movie since Empire Strikes Back. Yes there were fan service moments but they all made sense given the connection to New Hope and were generally not intrusive. Force Remakens was such fan service that they recreated a movie people loved rather than try to do something different. I was really enjoying it solely on account of the more adult tone compared to the prequels and the earnestness of the new actors right up until the Death Planet appeared on screen. At that moment I felt my stomach sink as I knew exactly how the movie would unfold. I laughed at that scene where the resistance dude replied to the comment about the Death Star by instantly bringing up a picture of the Death Star compared to the Starkiller to show how much bigger the latter was - like he has that file handy right there 30 years later just in case. It's not copying because it's bigger dammit!!!2 points

Today I ordered the first batch of parts for my next big project off of BL. One order down, probably several more to go. What's the project you ask? I'm BrickLinking what will eventually be a heavily customized version of everyone's latest favorite piece of eye candy; the 75192-1 Millennium Falcon. Currently I'm having excellent luck at it, as due to the sheer size of my existing Lego collection I already have between 55-70% of the parts needed for it. So far have spent roughly USD $48.10 on the build. Firmly expecting that to jump as things progress.2 points

It is a sign of LEGO being cheap. In previous years the classic minifigs bonuses (pirate, astronaut, castle soldier) came in small good looking & sturdy boxes2 points

Ninjago does not have the fanbase that SW OT has. Don´t expect miracles with this, or any NM set - just expect deep discounts and buy one for personal enjoyment.2 points

This will sort of be a "progress" thread so i will continue to share pictures through the process. Wasn't sure where to post this, but this seems to be a good spot for now. As many of you know i wall mounted my bricklinked 10179 and posted it on these forums, it was a fun endeavor and a great way to display the monster. I've since moved to a smaller condo and now more than ever do i need the room. So i plan to (try) do the same with 75192. I managed to pick one up in store lining up at 6am or so and being 5th in line when my local store (Sherway) got a restock. After about a week i have finally finished building it, and now it's time to start brainstorming how to overcome some of the differences. Overall 10179 and 75192 are pretty similar, i found myself recalling a ton of the build processes/techniques and 10179 while putting this one together. the one thing 75192 has going for it over 10179 is of course the enhanced details, but more importantly the build as a whole feels like it won't fall apart just by looking at it, but it does have it's weak spots. My biggest problem with 75192 over 10179 is it doesn't seem to hide the gaps/cracks as well as 10179 does (at least from my recollection/pictures). I can look around the model and peer inside and see many of the rainbow colored bricks shining through, some in more obvious spots than others, but still i thought this being a $900CAD display/collectors model they would go out of their way to make sure this didn't happen. And maybe sacrifice build "ease" for aesthetics. Few pictures to highlight this below: First step will be to install the LED strip to the back. I'm hoping i can use the old TV wall mount and just modify it, buying another and custom drilling more holes will be a pain. And the wall i need to mount this on is concrete, so i can't just drill this into a stud Going to have to find someone with a hammer drill. Anyways enjoy the process and pictures as they come!1 point

I finally called and complained to Lego about their distribution center and shipping practices in Romeoville, Illinois. I'm tired of getting shipments overstuffed with air pillows and then the boxes are forced shut, smashing the contents inside. Apparently their shipping department works nights at the Amazon FBA receiving dept. in Illinois as well.1 point

in my experience stranded inventory usually occurs because of various ASIN merge [ of the same item] and your item was not the target ASIN rather in the duplicate ASIN. only way to fix this is for SS to remap it and usually case solves it. if it doesn't call them up and say that you need your listing mapped to the new ASIN. give them old ASIN under which your item was listed its available from your FBA inventory tab for the item. they should be able to fix that. and it becomes available within 24 hours.1 point

It's a nice little set, the tent has a brick built base and some of the elements in this set are cool/rareish like that rounded piece and the blue mining head (used as a camp stove)1 point

I was also amazed by the amount of detail and overall look of this set! Got two at 50% off (compared to Dutch prices) from amazon.co.uk and wished I could have ordered more. I think Tabby is pretty dead on about the interest of young children in Ninjago. If you manage to hold this set for a really long time it will likely be in the same price range as the late 80s, early 90s pirate ships.1 point

I am really looking forward to building my own 70618. Ever since I saw the first photos of this beautifully done Chinese Junk in LEGO I knew I wanted it for my own collection! I usually save a big set like this for building during the Christmas Holidays, but now I have just bought a 10225 R2-D2 which I also want to build, so I have to choose which set to build during Christmas, and which one to build in November. Regarding the availability everywhere ... I remember back in 2015 I saw the Star Wars sets 75054 (AT-AT) and 75055 (ISD) just everywhere in all toy stores selling LEGO, and at decent discounts as well. And I wondered the same thing: how could such an ubiquitous set that everybody and their grandmother could get at a discount ever do well after retirement ? But both sets did do really well, while they're not even that brilliant.1 point

I haven't purchased any used bulk lots for over a year, but stumbled upon two over the past two days locally on Craig's. First one had 17 sets, including every set from the new City Jungle theme, three of the larger Ninjago sets that were just released, a fire station, and some other random city sets. Paid $200 for everything. Retail new is $850 plus tax. The second one included a Maersk Train 10219, a VW Bus, a Farnsworth House, and a brand new Van and Caravan 60117, and an airplane that I haven't identified yet (picture attached - please help). I paid $160 for those. Plenty of meat on the bone for resale down the road. These lots will be my winter project. Can anyone identify the white, blue, and yellow airplane in the last picture?1 point

I think the split payment could be a big factor. They probably noticed certain brands get a split payment very often. Charging only $1 to their card on a $100+ transaction, and giving away $10 really defeats the purpose. The two benefits of having your own corporate credit card is a reduction in transaction fees, and may be making s little money on interest and late fees on the back end. But split transactions totally avoids these benefits.1 point

Yes, it was a good thing. They dodged a bullet. Imagine if it sucked.... like the prequels. And NO, none of them were any good.1 point

BUT it was still good right? Great ending? We wouldn't have gotten that awesome Vader scene1 point

That can't be it. If TRU actually charged MSRP and then offered discounts, possibly, but we all know that's not the case. And given Walmart discounts some sets before other stores even have them on shelves, I doubt that's it.1 point

I liked it. Overall, it looks pretty intense and like it will be a roller coaster ride that in the end will break apart and leaving you hanging for a year and a half to debate what's next. As for the porgs, the marketing gimmick obviously works, because my little boy only wants lego sets with porgs. And I can relate because it's like when I was a kid and was sad when that little ewok took a laser to the back from the AT-ST and laid there lifeless and I felt like we just lost our pet dog...1 point

Finished this cool little set over a few bathroom breaks last week . Bought it mainly because it looked "ok" and for some reason it was cheaper than others in the 20OFFLEGO sale last week (discounted to $10.49 before code vs $11.99 for other Speed Champions set, so picked it up for $8.39+tax - 44% off), but after building it and putting it with my other cars it steals the show. I think it's the whole color combination that makes the car look so awesome. Definite recommendation if you're into Speed Champions.1 point
