New for £300! One of the seals has loosened off, and the box has sagged, but I'm very pleased with this.4 points

Just bought Insult on Hoth (75098). Feel a bit dirty, but they came up on eBay, with some box damage, for £139.99. Still a couple there actually, as of posting this. That was always the price at which I said to myself that I'd go for it. Puts it more in line with the standard non-UCS sets that this thing really is.3 points

You're able to judge the character of a person by the font they choose to write their emails in? Do you realize the power you wield?! Was it comic sans by chance? I hear people who use that font are jerks.2 points

When I get these types of "I buy all your LEGO" messages, I find them impossible to do business with because they want absurdly low prices. I'd be interested to know what you sold and for how much and if you made any profit.2 points

Well looks like We all got some time to kill ... I'm #4 on my lego store list and WAS hopeful I might see an end to this before 2017 was over and done with...but Now reading these posts it seems I have to put up with peeps in here bragging about getting 2 or 3 of these sets with Cat pics eating jabba the hut cereal while using the 75192 box as a Cat lounger. sooo ...I'm thinking Of grabbing an LG OLED UHDTV, Apple 4K Box, and Hooking up my XBOX ONE and Play some Star Wars Battlefront 2. ...no sense holding on to $900 bucks while TLG yanks our chains through Christmas. And by January or even February Maybe we'll get the Call... But I digress...i find it Extremely hard to believe that every lego Store will receive Zero shipments through Christmas till 2018.1 point

Wow, what a rough road this set has had. I think it might have finally made it out of its hump. Its been picking up steam after dropping in price every other month. No new Jabba sets in sight so maybe *crossed fingers* the long hold might pay out. On a side note the Rancor Pit has been doing well1 point

I looked yesterday after you posted the UCS Batcave screenshot, but I didn't see it then, and I still don't see it. Maybe it's a business account promo.1 point

Do you know if they are still giving them out to the lottery winners Saturday and Sunday or was it just a Thursday Friday thing? 98 / 89 never was good with set numbers as long as mine will be worth $250 by Xmas I'm fine so is 89 possibly Boba Han in a target box or no clue who the builds are?1 point

That's my big complaint about shopgoodwill.com. They mix lots. I have one local that I can pick up at. But I don't want to buy 3x 20 lb lots because they decided to split a Hogwarts castle in to 3 different boxes. And then they pull the minifigs out and sell them in jumbled lot as well.1 point

Make friends with a mommy blogger with a few hundred thousand followers and feed her sets you want to see spike in price. (Pm me the sets you’re sending ahead of time so I can stock up). Bonus points if you can get said blogger to post a link to the amazon listing.1 point

No. They don't even scan them, they just hand it out if you buy $75 or more before tax. There isn't a price on them. There are some decent prices... the half price city sets are good (the volcano one anyway) and krennics shuttle is 30% off again aswell as the village. Batman movie sets are 20% off as well... i don't think I've seen the Ultimate Batmobile 20% off yet, so I picked that up and a half price city to get the promos twice.1 point

Nice. I think they have piles of them at Wal-Mart here.1 point

I think for Lego, sets like Saturn V doesn't actually offer much in the way of profit. It’s more about giving back to the Lego community by creating cool sets that are inspired by Lego fans and are not actually attached to any theme. The opportunity to create long-term value for Lego is not there in these sets and not worth the extra production cost to increase the amount available for sale. This is just an opinion, I am not an investor or speculator, just an AFOL who enjoys building.1 point

As previously spoken about my breakfast habits. I have now reallocated the milf to a $799 cat bed.1 point

Fruitcakes are definitely running rampant on Craigslist. This listing popped up for $2,040 the other day; I don't usually troll people, but I had to find out what was going on here. The sets I was seeing definitely didn't add up to over $2,000 worth of Lego. Me, via email: Are there other sets not shown in the pictures? Just curious since you’re asking over $2k. Them: Yes there is a modern house (it's actually a very dusty 31012 Creator Family House) which I am including in pictures with this email.. I am more than willing to break down these Legos into smaller sets and sell them as such. For example, somebody might be interested only in all of the Lego city vehicles and nothing else. We could work something out for specific sets. I was not expecting someone to purchase all of them per se but if someone is interested in purchasing all of the sets here, that would be great.. If you have any further questions please ask and keep in mind that you can get in contact with me much quicker by calling or texting my phone (redacted). Thank you. Me: Thanks for the follow up. So just to confirm, the asking price is $2,040 for everything shown in the pictures, plus the house you sent me the picture of? I'll let you guys know how this turns out. I'll stay nice, I promise.1 point

Wow glad I stumbled across this thread. I was contacted by this buyer about 2 weeks ago. Left his e-mail address and phone number, so I kept in contact with him through e-mail after that so eBay would have no trace of the convo. He asked me to list sets o would be willing to get rid of, so I did, and he made me an offer. I denied it, made him and counter offer and he denied it, he then made me a counter offer on that and I accepted. I can say with confidence it is not a scam, he was very picky about which sets he wanted, and was pretty petty when haggling the price. I went ahead with it. I got paid over a week ago. He got his delivery, I got my credit card paid off. Nice and easy. I find it hilarious I'm the only one who did business with this guy lol.1 point

I'm not sure pirate ships/ships in general ever fly under the radar, i mean one of the seemingly universal rules of Lego investing is that pirate ships and the like "usually" do well. However times are changing, so who knows.1 point

Don't know what happened at Amazon Italy yesterday but I was quick enough to react. One of them shipped today, so I guess the order will be fullfilled. Now only to wait and see what's actually in the box1 point

I spotted a used R2-D2 10225 on Ebay for $150 + $3.96 shipping. It's the best deal I had seen in a bit and was able to snag it about 20 minutes after they posted it. $150 was my upper limit for this set, so hopefully it arrives and is correct and complete.1 point

Wow. This might be one of the craziest deals I ever found. I just left Savers (a goodwill type store). Found a big bag of Legos marked $9.99. I had a 30% off coupon, so I paid $7. I wasn't sure what was in the bag, but it was big enough to be worth it to me. Looked like a lot of white and blue so I was assuming some kind of city police stuff. Didn't see any minifigures so I was a little disappointed, but I saw a some numbered bags so that's cool. I got in the truck and open it up. Start pulling out all sealed bags. Lots of white and blue. Oh look, an instruction manual. Woah. It's a freaking UCS R2D2! All bags present and sealed. Instructions never opened.1 point

Hi everyone! I'm new to posting on BP but have been lurking for awhile now. below are a few pics of a MOC that I originally made to be a center piece to my daughter's LEGO elf village. It never really got finished because she decided to use it as a night light! Now if course my son would like something as well. For the lighting I used shapeable wire Christmas LED lighting. I hunted around online for some model lights but everything was pretty pricy. Any suggestions on good deals out there or any suitable alternatives? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!1 point
