Got the easy part out of the way - LED strip installed. Re-used the same strip from 10179 without having to modify it. I did of course have to modify the build a bit to fit the wiring without it being too obvious. Had to customize a side panel so it could go through the center, but it covered up pretty well. The strip does have a sticky back to stick it to something, but the pressure from the boat masts is enough to keep it in place with force alone. Made a custom little "holder" for the power box on the interior, and the receiver for the remote is accessible from one of the greebling display holes in the model. Not much i can do about this, needs to be somewhere the remote can talk with it, but it doesn't look all that out of place. And when done it again looks great, this light usually stays on 24/7 and acts as a night light for the living room, so it hides the ugly backside engines a bit Gotta say both this model and 10179 sure make it easy to access the interior to do modifications, all these easy to remove panels are great This LED setup does need to be connected to a power outlet, and last time everyone was telling me to paint the cord the colour of the wall, this time i will, but no i will not decorate the wall like the back of an ISD or a space scene Special guest: Jumbo Tsum Tsum Jabba, he's so awesome, makes a great couch pillow! Next step will be prepping the set for mount "alignment", have to of course remove the whole bottom turret section, reinforce the frame, and make some adjustments to level out the frame a bit as i can already see some differences from 10179 where my current mount build won't work.8 points

Well thanks mate! Even going a little over what's offered. Appreciate it. To anyone else too... If you'd like to buy through eBay, just make an offer and state you're from BP, and you'll get a deal. Thanks all. Update: also, I've started the spreadsheet of distribution people, and should reach out to you at some point later today.5 points

It is actually a lot harder to get scammed on a higher dollar set. It requires more limit available on the card if it is a hijacked account and they are scrutinized a lot more. (especially over 1k). For now the switch scammers are not after ebay. That seems to have migrated to Amazon more. Most the scams are the hijacked accounts and those are all covered as long as it is verified and eligible for seller protection. The ones that say they didn't get it are always covered with delivered status and actually have had a good amount now where they just deny the buyer outright from doing it multiple times in the past. Same on the returns now. Lots of people open then try to never send it back and escalate it and they also are losing. The hijacked ones are annoying but it is usually cheaper items under $100 I see it on. Minifigure cases are a high target for whatever reason. Guess they have wide fan bases and easy to resell for them, idk. That is probably the highest rate of hijack scams I see chargebacks opened on. I don't see the point to stop selling items in fear of anything when the exact purpose of the high fees we do pay is for there systems to catch these problem transactions. My fees are going towards them processing my transactions and payments and trying to detect what they can. There will always be something new around any system and it is part of business. That being said I've sold 3 so far for an average of $1367 sales price. Have 1 or 2 more coming in this week. They are still pretty damn hard to get and I don't say that often about any LEGO set.3 points

10240 Red Five X-wing for €280 (buy-in was €189). So that's €91 cash profit. Using this sale to pay for my purchase of one 10225 R2-D2 from @Ciglione3 points

Some items %50 off starting tomorrow: BAF Rey/Finn, Volcano Base Camp, and the City Service Station. Good items to combo and get freebies on. I just want that Spartan Batman, but no interest in the sets for investment.3 points

Could it be this nameless "DUPLO Free Agent Football Quarterback" has a certain resemblance with a real life Free Agent Football Quarterback?... https://ideas.lego.com/projects/bf0ace65-057c-4384-94fc-50ed5e8c5c5d2 points

Sold a set to a buyer. Feedback was left "Item arrived quickly and in perfect condition!" Message arrived from same buyer stating that the item was in great condition, but they thought it was pretty cheap of me to reuse a box and not put their set in a box that was picked up new from the store. Pretty sure on this order I used a Target shipping box that was in perfect condition. Set wrapped in bubbles and sent on its way. No reason to respond and upset one of our valued buyers with too much money to blow. But I'll have to hack down a tree next time for a fresh box when I see his username appear. At 400% profit nature will just need to take one for the team. I'll plant a sapling in its memory.2 points

Thanks for everyone who followed directions. Overwhelming response, but that's to be expected. I will message everyone back at some point, and I will continue to get Lester's until I can't, hopefully able to provide everyone with an order. If not possible then I'll message those whom I can't get one for. Basically will go down the pecking order of who was first, etc. Cheers mates. Please don't message me anymore regarding the Lester's, unless you've previously done so!2 points

Thanks everyone for all the helpful responses. As everyone has stated, I want to help the community first and foremost, thereby hoping to have some favors in the future turned my way. So here's what I figure I'll do: First, if anyone has a sealed Chrome Stormtrooper that they'd be willing to trade for a Lester + cash on my end, that'd be the real trade I'd be looking for. Otherwise any other SW polys that are slightly rarer I'd entertain offers for. I would ask, however, that any of these offers be evaluated on the market of the fig being $35, or so, roughly. Which most anyone would probably just rather buy one, but had to throw it out there. Other than that, I will sell everyone ONE for now, at the cost of $13 + shipping worldwide (wife's idea, she's just as in charge of the money as me so have to head some advice). I apologize for anyone who has previously messaged me about getting them more, but this will be the easiest way to distribute them to anyone who would like them, and I'm hoping most people wanting them are collecting. Also, if you'd like one, please message me as well. It will be easier that way for me to keep track. Hopefully this is fine, and fair, with everyone here. Any questions let me know. Also, so far I've gotten another 24 today, just as hoped, so have a decent stock starting again!2 points

Nice one - nothing tickled my fancy. Did score the following of eBay: LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon (75030) - UNOPENED LEGO Chima Fire vs Ice (70156) - UNOPENED LEGO Ramses Return (3855) - THIS HAS BEEN OPENED BUT INCLUDES ALL PIECES OF THE GAME For the princely sum of $34 posted. If the MF's condition matches the photos, will be tempted to list the next time there is an eBay discounted FVF offer.1 point

I´ll bet you a 10 USD donation to the 2020 Brickpicker charity event that DB 3.0 won´t be trading above RRP within a year of selling out at SAH. Saturn V will depend on how long it is available for. 1.5 years or more and we can forget decent returns. The early adopters have already got theirs and the price is trending down even though it is OOS. Why it was ever limit 5 is a mystery. This should at least make it slightly harder to hoard.1 point

What's changed is the number of people endlessly speculating about the same set of facts: -inability to keep the set in stock at launch -rumors of a limited production run -LEGO issuing a response to the rumors -more rumors and LEGO reiterating the response -the set continuing to go in and out of stock, though seemingly at significantly different rates across markets -the horde being well aware of this set All of which results in constant comparisons to big EOL hits on short production runs and sets that have been running a production marathon. There are really only 2 new facts: when the set's come back in stock in the US it's taken longer to sell out and reseller prices have been in fairly steady decline. Both of which have more implications for whether it's a good idea to keep flipping the set than answering when the last 1 will be available at retail.1 point

Well now... I guess the box has been opened to verify that you're getting a complete set of bogus bricks and laser printed instructions. Or maybe the boxes were opened to verify that all bags and instructions were there prior to their removal and the sale of boxes full of junk to you. PS If you want a laugh, go to the google image search page https://images.google.com/, click the camera and paste the url of the image to see what google thinks of this auction. I'm pasting the URL below... http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/l1cAAOSwG4lZ1DVu/s-l1600.jpg1 point

I I have a few of these picked up in SAH when you could flip for £170 - £180, but looking today they are listed on ebay UK for £123 BIN collection only which just seems mad. There are over 100 listings BIN and 10 on auction, like someone said above maybe it's the resellers buying all the stock, myself included. ( I wont be buying any more) There is however 1-2 selling everyday at the moment so demand is there. I'm not selling for £10 profit and am happy to sit. I have no interest to build the set so won't be opening one up.1 point

Haha there is so many mate it's insane. They won't run out. And plenty of people are catching on about them I think too. Easy to 6 in one run. My wife and I went three times today and each got 6 a turn. Good luck. The store is awesome too!1 point

To anyone who's been in a position like this before: honestly, if I'm getting them for people, what do I charge for them? Any upcharge at all or just simply cost + shipping? I need genuine answers. My thinking is like $2 over cost, so basically. (6 pounds converts to basically $8) $10 a fig + shipping, but I know I can sell them for almost $35 a pop. Just asking as the overwhelming response has been what I expected, but as this is my first time being in this position.1 point

Accounted for! Not a problem. Probably would be easier, at least from my standpoint too haha. One for you too, cheers.1 point

I have gotten 24, which are all either sold or claimed. However, the Wife and I are going back for another 24 today, so I'll keep you posted. Shouldn't have any issues getting them though (it's pretty easy since there's two stories and we haven't seen the same people working yet.) Shipping to NZ might be a little more expensive, but I'm sure you already knew that.1 point

Very rarely have been a poster on here but I'm currently in London and have already purchased 16 of them, all on one day, as my wife is here with me. I can confirm that these little guys are in abundance there, but people already want them. Badly. I've flipped them all for about $35 a pop already through the eBay, with shipping time for when I get back. Basically going to keep going to the store at least once a day and see how many I can get. I'm in Seattle so might as well stock up on what I can get as rumors have it this will be a one year distribution. When I listed them on eBay I was the only US seller who had them, so I could dictate my price. Edit: literally going to try to get as many as possible as these seem to be gold so far, and so easy to pack even with packing through. My wife was so shocked (even though we've flipped LEGO quite a bit the past few years) that it was so easy for these. Only sucky part is only getting VIP Points once (I don't want to try to buy more with my card haha).1 point

Paypal sends the tracking number to the buyer's email automatically. I never update the order to include the tracking number. I get 1 every 2 months/140 orders asking for tracking number by email. If the buyer receives the package 4 days after payment there is never an issue anyway.1 point
