You just need to pray the winner is not a 0 feedback user from North Korea.4 points

Yes. When they pack it & place the air pillows in & it clearly doesn't fit, they then push down the box, damaging the item as they close it. Seal it & send it on its way. It's happened more than once to me.4 points

I prefer packing paper over the pillows. The paper can give before the box does; the pillows, when overstuffed, clobber the poor box.3 points

So I decided to make my own MOC of the falcon because I couldn't wait.... Sending it to Lego Ideas for the 10 year remake of this one....3 points

Even so. You just gave up a career of salary in addition to Early Access to Lego sets for the rest of your life in addition to whatever discounts they receive. Is that all worth a screenshot? Hell no. Lol But he obviously forgot to omit the store ID so I guess his intelligence is suspect anyways. LOL3 points

For me they should have changed the design of that rear section completely with the modern building techniques available. This guy nailed the rear..... giggity giggity2 points

I don't understand all this hate for the Falcon's rear end. It's no worse than on 10179, and arguably the blue tubes are a better representation of the actual engines from the movies. 10179 rear 75192 rear (photo taken by @jstodda earlier in this thread) Rear of Falcon from SW: A New Hope Rear of Falcon from SW: The Force Awakens2 points

Part of 10179's value, IMO, was the idea that TLG was unlikely to ever make something like that again. People made the decision to shell out for a collectible and conversation piece (There's a winery/brewery near me that has the MF and SSD displayed in the tasting room. Never fails to get comments). Now that people know that TLG can or will redo sets, it will be interesting to see the value of 75192 in 5 to 7 years when the rumors begin again. If an AFOL misses out on it this time (even assuming that the window closes), will they be willing to be that person who bought it for $5000 in 2022 when they might get another chance for the 50th anniversary? I'm still planning on trying to get at least one to hold long-term, but I don't expect a repeat of 10179's performance.2 points

A LEGO store retail associate or low level manager is not exactly a high-paying gig.2 points

MF'17, Long term investment? hum. This is a very long term hold prospect. I would say minimum 5 year hold to see any kind of major profit. Of course, holiday flips are always great and will sell if priced accordingly. The UCS 10179 climbed higher and higher...but the minute the rumors started about the '17 version the (reseller) price started the fall. In the past three months alone, the average price for 10179 has fallen from $4500 to $2500. This is expected. Why would anyone pay $2500 or more for a "NEW" set that is going to sell for $800? Lego will make it again. Maybe again, in 2027 we see the 3rd version and the same cycle will repeat it self. In the end, If you have money to invest in multiple sets (like I do) and are ok having $800+ sitting in a corner...then by all means do it. Good luck, Invest wisely & happy building.2 points

I didn't order a single thing from lego.com this time around. Just got a AOH off the zon' . . . . I did want the minifigure, but it was gone after the first day so I didn't move quick enough. I was too busy running around scarfing up black series and hot wheels for my son... Unfortunately, a lot of the new lego sets took a "meh" tone with him. And of course I felt a bit the same way. Regardless, the sale was pretty telling in which sets are going, and which ones will stick around.2 points

everything that was sold out or c2c at LEGO Shop at Home is now back to backordered.2 points

Yes. They ship out the good boxes first and end with the worst box conditions. So we should see retirement in a month.2 points

This set immediately caught my eye when the first pictures were leaked. After I saw Jang's review video I'm even more positive about this set. But ... as Jang mentions as well, this set is overpriced. So I'm going to wait this out till I can get it at a good discount. 40% off should be attainable by waiting for the right promo/discount to come along.2 points

Hopped in @exciter1's time machine to grab some Ekimu the Mask Makers. When I returned to the present I also grabbed a bunch of Pumpkin's Carriages for $2 and $9 Yoda's Starfighters.1 point

Pretty much. ☺️ To be clear, I'm not saying the rear end couldn't be improved. It obviously can be, as various MOCs show. I just think the criticism of the design change is somewhat excessive.1 point

Generally anything over 18 units per sku will go to a distribution center (but this can vary quite alot depending on the algorithm). When you make a shipment before you confirm it you will see what centers amazon has chosen. You can look those up to see if they are fulfillment (your items go live as soon as they are checked in) or distribution (your items go backordered for 1-5 days). After a few hundred shipments you will learn which centers are which straight away, and which ones to avoid.1 point

I live in a higher altitude. Half of my boxes look like football's by the time they get to me. When I see an engorged box...I cringe!1 point

Well it did say confidential so yeah. It's no wonder he got fired. And it's a perfectly good reason to get fired.1 point

Everyone remember that leaked pic from TLS POS a few months ago? The one that was marked "75192 Confidential $799"? Chap that posted the pic got fired. I got fired from Lego for leaking the USC Falcon set! AMA!1 point

Oh hello again Mr UCS Tie Fighter. Back from the dead are we (yet again). It's amazing that all it takes is a free minifig and some VIP points for people to go bananas. ?1 point

What was the error in that? $70 is a fairly typical KMart price after coupons and sweeps points1 point

No reason to believe it won't be the same as all previous sets so officially midnight but worth checking from 11pm onwards, the new TLJ sets where available to purchase on Thursday at around 11:30pm1 point

Not true at all. The employee at Lego said they would be available IN STORE and ONLINE on the 14th for VIP membership...1 point

Hey moderators is there a way to have tabbyboys current feeling on this set replacing the poll at the top? Haven't been on in a minute so catching up on this and for a week every other page is a post from him saying how he's going to buy 3- 1 to open, 1 to keep, and 1 to sell after retirement to help pay for the others. A few hours ago he changed that to only buying 1. Then a couple hours ago he changed that to maybe buying none. Maybe his opinion could be on the ticker on the front page?1 point

Figured it out, I didn't have the box checked for that to show up. Got it now. Thanks.1 point

My store here in NC, USA said they expected 4 or 5 on Sep 14... more coming later. (That makes me think they'll actually have 10 or 15)1 point

I'm seeing $99.49 on Amazon for the buy-box (FBA) main listing. Definitely looking good so far.1 point

The far cheaper Batman Lego Movie Batcave is the competitor for this set despite it's 1960s niche.1 point
