LEGO could have taken care of all of this nonsense with a "First Edition" set. The first 10,000 (or whatever) made would have special markings and would sell worldwide...in store and online. VIP cards and mystery sets and other BS giveaways that some get and others don't are a waste of time. If they really were smart, they would have made this first run of sets uber desirable. The buzz would have been tremendous. Many will now wait for deals...and they will come...trust me. After the initial contrived shortages to stir up interest on LEGO forums, there will be plenty to be had by everyone.6 points

Found a TMNT Lair for $10 at WM. Box beat to hell. All was there and my 4 yo was ecstatic.6 points

These models were shipped assembled/glued from LEGO to all LBR stores in the US for display. Either your store is extremely unlucky or your store's manager is a dumbass and misread the instructions from corporate and is still hiding it in the back.5 points

It's amazing how many ideas come out for what could have been done with this set. It's great that they added all this detail, but yes, they should have taken it that extra step and invested in the box, lighting, who knows maybe some motorized features. Stuff that dreams are made of. Yes I love it, but for $800, it could have still been better. Maybe in 10 years.3 points

Ed?... cause when you are at the bar and conveniently mistake your Star Wars VIP black card for your Metal American Express card .. and go "OopS!" you'll have unleashed the biggest Chick magnet Ever and They Will Bow and a round of applause and looks of Envy...... ??Naww you're right ...probably get a wedgie instead.... ???2 points

in the San Antonio, Tx store, there were 4 Thursday Morning, by the time I drove the 5 hours there, they only had the one they were holding for me..... They said that was it.. They will not receive anymore..... take it with a grain of salt.1 point

Upon release you will get the set packed inside the outer box, It wont be even unboxed on front of you just to scan the code, the code will be outside so lego employee will hand you over the box with those wheels directly. Those cubic retail boxes will be only for Display Purposes.1 point

It will only increase as the latest production run gets delivered.1 point

Ok here's a nice pic I thought would give perspective to accuracy ... this is from marshal banana's flicker page... although it's been said in this chat that marshals version us not a "mini fig" scale, I tend to disagree based on the fact marshal was limited to the old canopy mold on his Build ...but the proportions are all the same... based on the new canopy Mold released in the 75192 set...I believe marshal will further refine his Falcon based on his post and this pic he posted... but I think it's a nice comparison overall in the pic1 point

Yeah, who doesn't remember the continuous production runs of Red 5, Pet Shop, etc... but with all the new movie releases and especially the compressed time frame between Episode 8 and the Han Solo film, they are going to have to do away with sets now to clear space. Think about it! The last jedi wave just hit... 3 more months, we got the winter wave coming that has about 15 sets. Then a few months after that is the Han Solo movie wave of 5 sets. Are they going to ramp up production runs on sets from Rogue One, the Force Friday Force Awakens wave, or the old winter waves from 2016? No.1 point

This set is everywhere. Kmart, target, Walmart, tru. I think Barnes, bam and BB have it too. Great set, over flooded. 60% off or bust.1 point

Just finished 6753 Creator transporter. Bought for €26 (postage included) on done deal (local ad site)..main build is shy 6 parts (5 of which I have in spares). Bargain buy IMO and I expect to flip at a profit once the kids have had some fun with it1 point

If the guy is going to be this designer Lad with specs, instead of seeing my money they will see my middle finger. He deserves more like ice bucket challenge in the middle of Russian Syberia rather than recognition from AFOL's.1 point

First.. correlation doesn't mean causation. Lego was in trouble and it wasn't due to lack of inflated sales due to speculation. Sure the new speculator sales help immediate revenue, but like all sugar rushes, it's not real, nor is necessarily healthy. Lego pivoted in what they were selling and what brands they were licensing - that is what turned Lego around... not scalpers. People have been buying "boxes of plastic" for entertainment for decades. Speculators don't create a market - they obfuscate it. If anything, one would argue it's more harmful as it creates a false view of the market that is unsustainable. I bet 99.999% of Lego buyers have no idea they can resell their sets when they are done as anything but "a box of misc legos". Sure, the UCS and other limited run sets are a different market and those buyers are different. But I'd wager that most fans still don't buy with the idea of flipping or 'selling for appreciation'. Most just know there are secondary markets where they can get sets that are NLA. The "investor" crowd only works when you are ahead of the curve or can influence availability. With Lego re-releasing sets, the availability angle disappears. With the decade or so now of the flipper behind us... there is no more 'ahead of the curve'. Lego isn't producing for the speculators... so when someone groans about their piece that used to be an exclusive showing up in other sets.. boohoo.1 point

I bought and sold my TIE Striker, but I did keep the Shore Trooper for my personal collection. I just got into buying/building LEGO back this past December and it started with the Imperial Shuttle Tydirium. I have also preferred the Empire/Dark side, especially the ISD's and AT-AT/AT-ST walkers. I am primarily in the game as a builder/collector, with the occasional re-flipping of used sets/parts that I don't want for myself (you know, buy in bulk locally and resell the unwanted parts to keep the hobby going). My wife doesn't mind too much, but limits my built pieces to one small corner of one room in the house hah! I am definitely in for the new AT-ST, ISD and BB-8 for this Sep release. The March release was kind of OK to me, granted I did pick up Battle of Naboo (not built), Yoda's Star fighter (built, going to storage), Scarif (my favorite of this year), Y-Wing (built, going into storage). I do not have any of the sets from the June release, but Vader's transformation is one I might pick up as the rest are kind of meh to me. I do not care for the contractables at all. My collection consists of Star Wars (no UCS sets as of yet, but would like the R2, Death Star 2, Tantative and the ISD and SSD though), Monster Fighters (have castle, but want to add Mad Scientist, Zombies and Haunted House), Batman Movie (have all so far except the Asylum) and just started getting into Pirates of the Caribbean (have the Silent Mary and about 90% of the Black Pearl. I only plan on adding the QAR with the Mill, London Escape and Whitecap probably).1 point
