Today I sold a 75059 Sandcrawler via CL - thinning out some inventory to pay for recent Walmart clearance buys (and clearing space for those sets). At the end of the transaction, the guy says "Do you like beer?" I thought to myself "weird question to ask in this sale, at noon in a church parking lot" but I said "Uh, yea, a lot." He says "then I have some home brew for you." I say "does this involve me giving you back some of this cash?" He says "no, it involves me brewing way too much beer." So he gives me a 6 pack of 3 different brews with a spreadsheet of what they are. Says wait 2-4 weeks on the Voodoo Baby. I asked what if I really like one and want to buy more? He says "I can't sell it, but I'd trade for things like Lego." I told him I'd keep his email address just in case. So, seems legit, hopefully I'm still alive after drinking the first bottle.8 points

again, this is just my opinion. the out result is clearly not lego's fault. lego just followed the design art / stills given to them. heck, i'm sure the scenes with this super-sized "planet of the apes" AT-AT cool will be cool during the movie the lego model just looks like a regular AT-AT mashed with something that didn't make the Chima cut and then finished off with a michael bay inspired transformers bearded face.4 points

Either everyone is having short term memory loss and rewriting messages they forgot they had already sent, or things are a little buggy round here today.4 points

Probably my age, but it's Shere Khan in the Jungle Book for me. Every good baddie must have an English accent.3 points

There are also some rumors that the bricks are 2.56 times bigger... I assume these should reflect it....3 points

I like how it looks and dig the gorilla look. To me it looks more menacing then the original AT-AT. It would be cool if in the movie the AT-AT stands on his back legs..?2 points

I'm going to grab one since I missed the original AT-AT. I know I'm in the minority opinion but I do like how it really looks like a lumbering gorilla. Maybe it'll swat those pesky Rebel scum!2 points

I am just trying to understand what the upsetness is about. Is it the design or that it was just another remake like the death star?2 points

Yes. This was a gift with purchase at Toys R Us. They were priced at $6.99 each (I think) for individual purchase. There was a similar one for Nexo Knights as well (5004390), except that was a gift with purchase at LEGO.2 points

I hear that they will be adding some flapping wings for the episode 9 version.2 points

To me, it's scary how little imagination has been displayed by LucasFilm so far. Neaely every vehicle including this one is clearly based on something from the OT. This vehicle is another rip-off. Maybe the First Order found full factories and factories of unused Death Star, Tie-Fighter and At-At parts... As a Lego set, it looks too much like a Transformer. I'm passing.2 points

Oh wow. I guess now I do have to consider the Force gripping master of darkness a Disney villain now. ....That just seems weird no matter how I try spinning it. Still I don't know though. I'm pretty sure Maleficent could kick his Sith ass.2 points

I'm still figuring that out as I traded some sets from my stockroom (nothing special) and some other non-Lego items plus cash. All on all, when all things considered I got it for less than what people are paying for used ones.2 points

Does DV count ? If not , maleficent is badass, dragon and all ... evil queen from snow white used to terrify me as a kid after she transforms .2 points

My daughter is performing in Peter Pan at a local theater this week. So we've had Peter Pan playing lately. Not the most politically correct movie, lol. Between Hook smoking, and "What makes the red man red?", oh boy.2 points

That's a tough question. Scar is the most evil in my book. Killed his brother and framed his nephew all for the sake of power. Pure evil. But my favorite? Jafar. He almost hooked up with Jasmine and that puts him up there with all the great villains.2 points

I can never understand this argument. Look at modern military vehicles, have they changed that much from their predecessors, no, they've just gotten bigger. Look at aircraft carriers or tanks, basic look or shape hasn't changed much since world war 2.1 point

Could it actually be any bigger than the original? Anything bigger will be an issue in terms of display and not practical1 point

This Christmas...wait till you see some buyers pay $1200.00 for a set that sold for $800.00 a few weeks earlier. This set will be a flipper's dream. Long term...who the Hell knows?1 point

I think I know that guy. Side note...anyone looking for Packer tix this season send me a PM. I've got about 30 extras for various home games. I price them below stubhub, and offer free parking at my place. I'm a ten minute walk from Lambeau. If you buy multiple games I'll throw in a free Joker Steamroller, too!1 point
