Yes, you should absolutely quit. There really weren't any good deals to speak of before the glitch and there most assuredly will not be any moving forward. The end is near.4 points

I built the 7239 Fire Truck (2004) when I got home from work and I needed some Lego therapy after a long day. We have all been there. The partially built truck was in with some parts I got for free from a neighbor and I ordered most of the few missing parts (still need one ladder) on Bricklink and they were part of an order for some missing parts I needed for an Indiana Jones set. Some substitutions were made, but it happens and since it is for me I like it even better. I had lots of fun deciding on minifigures for this this set since the original ones were missing, decided to get a female firefighter to make my daughter happy and added the scuba diver that is not part of the original set. He seems a natural fit with the life raft. The raft is supposed to be dark gray, but I like the orange one better. The firefighter set is one I got from Lego Shop at Home about two years ago and it is finally time break the bad boy open. This set is one of the City Sets to Remember in The Lego Book, a book I can look at for hours if given the time. I have used it as a reference book many times too.3 points

How do you think they get all the equipment up the mountain? And all the injured miners back down?2 points

Build it sell used no box. You will get to enjoy the build and don't think there will be much difference in sale price since it would have to be sold as used with sealed bags not New Other Check the how many bags thread and the hellicarrier thread to see if someone posted pics.2 points

Well, the construction is moving along at the moment. Though, always expect the unexpected in this line of work... "Carol, where's my green syringe? It had the experimental drug in...it...HOLY MOTHERFU-" "Ermm...Doctor, did you hear something?" "Nope." "Steady as she goes, guys. Just connect it slowly. This isn't rocket science..." "Except it is, boss. Can you lend us a hand?" "No, I can't. I'm supervising. It's what I do. Supervise." "This thing isn't so heavy!" "Speak for yourself, you're using one hand, Bob! WHAT THE BRICK?!" "Oh, that makes sense..." "Oh hey, Ellen. I gave the Captain the inoculation for the space sickness!" "CAROL! That wasn't it! THAT WAS MY EXPERIMENTAL RADIATION DRUG!" "...Oh...dear..."2 points

Been buying some bulk on goodwill. This was in a 15lb lot for $109. Looks mostly complete, probably without minifigures. Another 30lb lot with monster hunter castle (complete no minifigures) for $150. Some work ahead of me but think got some good deals1 point

I only do minifigs for the kids these last couple of years. Since the price jump at LEGOLAND I don't buy them there out of spite. I'm also still swimming in Simpsons and Monster Minis. Ugh.1 point

I'm pretty stoked, because I've been dying to build the sealed one I picked last year for $250. So, I'll tear this one down and rebuild it. Thanks that what I wanted to hear!1 point

Technically, its year round. Our water park is open from March until November. But even so, were in the middle of it. Kids still have another month before they go back to school out here. LEGOLAND should be open 7 days a week for at least another 2 months. Oh, and this is against passholders, so it wouldn't matter when tourist season is - APs are what keep the park going the rest of the year.1 point

So I started checking out this used Disney Castle I picked up today. The seller said "only the first bag open". I bought it with a partially built Helicarrier. Some of the Bag 1 parts were mixed in with the Helicarrier, but only 5 small, easily replaceable parts were missing and the sticker sheet. Tried to look at some unboxing videos to see if the rest of the bags are there, but they pretty much all just dumped them out and maybe counted, none organized them in to groups by number. Does anybody have a list of how many bags of each number there are? Pic of bag 1 assemble. Nice build, I actually had to unbuilt parts on three occasions, which is unusual for me. This would be a very difficult set for a Disney-only (non-Lego) fan to build. All of the minifigs are there, so no way I lose money on this. If I want to maximize profit and speed of sale, would you recommend selling as "open-box, one set of bags open" leaving the rest sealed or just go ahead and build it all the way for photographing and sell as used? Instructions are a little beat up and box is pretty bad.1 point

As predicted, everything present and accounted for. But since I had to contact CS about an issue with a non-lego purchase, I mentioned my disappointment about the box and the rep refunded me 25%.1 point

Agree. One of the mistakes that I've made as a reseller and truly underestimated is "New release demand" or the "I've got to have it now" mentality. There are thousands of people out there that still want this set and want it now. IMO secondary market prices are being driven down by resellers who don't have the capital to wait/hold and need to sell (probably those that buy on credit alone) and saturation. 188 listings on Ebay right now (US only) and 96 of those between $150-$200 with the lowest BIN at $178. (which by my calcs would only be $10 profit.)1 point

Doubly impressive considering time of year too. Imagine if this thing was released during the holiday season. You would have seen a Nintendo Classic effect.1 point
