  1. Finally got together the missing parts for my UCS General Grievous 10186 that I bought used a while back for $90, so I built it over the weekend. My primary observations are that 1- it is huge compared to what I expected and 2- it seems unstable compared to most of the other sets I have built. I could definitely see my son demolishing this things in no time. I usually build these with the kids, but they were out in Yellowstone camping so I took the opportunity to build this one while they were away since several of you guys had mentioned it is a more fragile build than most...good call! Look how big it is next to some of the other relatively large sets!

  4. Having now built this, it's no wonder why Lego haven't released a UCS AT-AT. Despite his being well designed and structurally very stable it was a bit of nightmare putting everything together. I spent almost a day attaching the head onto the body. Biggest build to date coming in at just over 6700 pieces. Hopefully that will be topped by the new Falcon and then my UCS collection is complete with respect of in my opinion all of the iconic ships in Star Wars universe.

  5. Months ago I bought a 30 pound lot from Goodwill and just hadn't had the gumption to open it. So this weekend to avoid cleaning I started sorting it. After sorting it looked like the first picture. I built the first set out of the lot, which was a Raiders Temple Escape. The only thing missing from the entire set was two of the eight gold coins, crazy. Already posted it to BL and CL, this would more than pay for the original buy, plus there's some portion of a 6210 Jabba's Sail Barge (all the figs and sails are there) and an Exo-Force Sentai Fortress. There are also a bunch of Technic instructions, I'll have to see what's actually there. I'll keep the Sail Barge and sell everything else.

  6. I know some of you have been thinking about the launch tower for the Saturn V. Here it is on the Lego Ideas site. One of the same designers created it. You can't complain about a repetitious build when it this cool. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/a88109ec-9970-4fe1-98b4-9bd535856ab4

  12. Ha! I straightened it out right after I took the pic. It bothered me as well...but I decided to post the pics as they were and let it bother many of you too:) Thanks! It was originally in an old pharmacy in Birmingham, AL in the 20s, and I picked it up about 20 years ago when the family that used to own the pharmacy sold it in the classifieds. Good ole pre-craigslist days when you had work for a find. Lol.

  13. I am working on 60080 Spaceport. This one looked really good for being a normal set (I have never built anything City from new). I have not went down the UCS, Expert path yet for anything. I am up to book 5 (final book and it is for the boosters). Next set to build is either the 75158 Rebel Combat Frigate, 6211 Star Destroyer or 8039 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser.

  14. 1, That part freaked me out. 2. I need to get those rolling shelves for my house 3. Who let those hippies in there to man-handle those beautiful boxes? Where was the respect? Where were the gloves? Did they even bother to wipe the cheeto dust off their fingers before defiling that temple? gasp.

  20. So, I finally decided to crack open the set after being able to find time. However, I had to call in some additional help. "Okay, team. Grab that thing-a-ma-brick and we'll attach it to here..." "Okay, Captain. I'm going to give you this injection for space sickness. So hold still. This won't hurt...much.." "Uh...doctor, are you sure...." "Shhhhh."

  23. Rebel Combat Frigate for MOC parts (mini figures I will flip) for 30% off and a Saturn V. If this does really sell out and isn't replenished in stores, in the short term, I will look to flip if this gets close to £200 otherwise will keep for personal build. Also got 2 pig money banks and 2 R3 polybags as well as double VIP points.

  30. Target has > 99 in stock, no apparent limit. If you believe that Jamie Berard has inside knowledge on stock supply, this is your chance. I still stand by my comment that they can produce this nearly weekly for the next several years, so the QFLL opportunity is high risk. The play on this set is holding a large inventory after EOL as I see it easily being 2x+ RRP once gone from production. Too early to tie up your capital on it though.

  35. Welcome. I'd say flip the Saturns now. Last I heard they are going to be out of stock until somewhere in August. You'll be able to get them cheaper eventually. You wait for a good deal and that is when you buy. Unless you're trying to flip or it's some kind of limited edition set. By the way, there is a dedicated thread for most popular sets, including the Saturn V. You should check it out and see what other people are doing.

  36. Little disturbing return came in today. Had a Nasa Saturn V come back UPS with reason REFUSED, RECEIVER DID NOT ORDER today. Only noticed it right away as it was a fellow member here who is quite active in the community. Box came back partially open and inside was a set far from what was sent. Little shocked as the user had purchased multiples from us and a few were drop shipped and one went to them. The one that went to them was the one that was refused. No email, no contact, no nothing just an unexpected return. The set box was heavily damaged and cut on the side and had loose pieces rattling. Luckily after taking the time to inventory everything was there so no huge loss there. Guess the the fact that no communication was made at all from an experienced seller and someone part of the group so to speak is what got to me most. Funny thing was the listing was for distressed box items which were actually not bad at all and were from factory sealed cases and I noticed the username before shipping and actually sent them ones that were not even distressed. The box inside still had the 40lb craft paper perfectly intact as shown and the shipping box was not in to bad of shape considering the distance it went there and back. Yet somehow the set I received back looked like this and had loose pieces. Who knows maybe it happened in transit. Maybe they forgot to change the dropship address like the others they shipped and never meant for it to go to them. Maybe they didn't need it anymore after getting more of there own to fulfill there orders. I'll go with one of those theories in my head seeing the person didn't make any contact. You would think though if it was along those lines they would of contacted saying the set was damaged and asked for a return or if we had replacements or better yet just fill out an automated return. Again the lack of communication leads the mind to think of worse things. Would hate to think a fellow member would intentionally do something like that. The close to 4 hour time it was delivered then dropped off to a UPS store for the refusal was a little strange too. 06/22/2017 12:56 P.M. Delivered 06/22/2017 4:42 P.M. The shipment has been dropped off and is now at The UPS Store®. 06/22/2017 7:57 P.M. The receiver states the product was not ordered and has refused the delivery. / The package will be returned to the sender. I've dealt with many members on here both buying and selling and never ran across any issues. Some orders very large and some very small. Everyone that I have dealt with knows how I pack and the time I take to do everything properly and the materials we use so to even have anything get damaged is a rarity. Think in last 4 years or so I might of had 1 or 2 items get damaged to that extent and they were small sets. Guess I am just shocked this happened from a community where everyone pretty much knows each other after all these years and there stores / usernames etc. It's a pretty small group in the big scheme of things that is active and partakes daily. I went back and forth to whether to mention it at all but figured I would share. The fact the user felt no need to contact me is what led to me posting without contacting them. Anyways you're refund has been done.
