I took a chance through a local FB virtual yardsale and picked up a lot for $200. She wouldn't budge on the price. The loose mixed lot has parts to 7261 CTT with beat up box, some random other older SW parts and minis. Plus various pieces from older HP, older City, Exo-Force and other parts from early mid 2000's era. I've picked about 2 dozen various figures so far with some mixed matched and loads of parts and accessories to go through. I'll probably just sell this off after cherry picking and picking out any non Lego stuff. Also in the lot is a open box sealed bags 8289 Technic Fire Truck and a open box sealed bags 10174 AT-ST. I gambled on these 2 hoping all the bags are there. Both Instruction are good along with a nice 10174 UCS sticker. These were literally thrown in a closet in 2007 with other toys stacked on top of them and never touched. Boxes are beat though. Now the hard part of confirming if both sets have all the bags..... That Hippogriff is $10....8 points

I went with the Rebel frigate for the personal collection. I'll take $66 for a $119 set to satisfy my LEGO Star Wars OCD habit.4 points

41091 Mia's Roadster My daughter built the first micro build, then set this aside. Doesn't help that there's a castle to put together right now. I'm taking it for myself, lol. I plan on MOC'ing up some parade floats to go in front of the castle and this is perfect for Donald and Daisy to ride in.3 points

I agree that there's been a heavy focus on London recently, but I think this set is different, and is going to suffer because of it. As an American, who's (regrettably) never been to London, I can easily recognize the bridge or Big Ben. They transcend. But this bus...I really question how it's going to do in the U.S. - not that selling well in the U.S. is the end-all-be-all, but I don't think TLG will find this to be a big seller over here. I've never owned any of the recent Creator vehicles (in real life), but I can appreciate the inherent artistry of the VW Bus, the Mini, the new Bug, and even the Ferrari. But this London bus...it's just not iconic enough or artistic enough to be of great interest personally. Perhaps it's memorable in a quirky sort of way, but to me it's not a whole lot different than a New York City taxi cab - and I don't want that set either. It's a specific vehicle germane to a specific city. And if they did make a NYC cab, I'd say that it will never sell well in Europe. I just think this set may be a bit too niche...but what the hell do I know? What I would vastly prefer is this set in purple, and then we would have our first Harry Potter UCS set!3 points

Been working on a UCS MOC for a while but decided to take a break and build Leia. Great little build with great techniques that allow for a number of poses. Will build similar scale R2 next to recreate that iconic scene in a new hope.3 points

I'd probably dump the box and sell without. You'll save a butt load on shipping.2 points

Guys (and moderators), you just raised from the dead a Canadian thread from 2014. That thread was as dead as Target Canada.2 points

I'm not going to lie, those look fantastic, but I am a little more peeved that there will most likely be a gap in the numbering system as they continue this line because of these exclusives. They should've kept them like the other exclusives, and separate from the main line of brickheadz.2 points

I think it's safe to say the next announcement may be those. Instead of 4 sets this year I bet they only do 2. I would assume it will be 2 DC characters. Make something along the lines of JL or whatever else is coming out soon for them.2 points
-
I think the point is they are fudging exclusives into an existing collection. Exclusives such as SDCC mini builds, bat pod, space slug, Lester minifig etc are fine. The problem comes when you introduce a series you want people to collect, then make some of those highly exclusive. The box clearly states 15&16 so Lego are acknowledging these characters form part of a larger collection and given they are only available to purchase at RRP at 1 show in 1 country, it's not really on. I don't collect brickheads at all but can appreciate the frustration.2 points

Yeh , local shop sales have been a little grim. Prices are reasonable, it's just the selection is a bit stale. Regular eBay 15% deals been ok though. Been buying the harder to find sets at pretty good discount, as the eBay codes work on worldwide purchases. Biggest gamble is, will my set survive a month in the mail?2 points
-
No kidding. Boo hoo. It's an exclusive. It a reward for going to the Con. People have completely lost sight of that.2 points
-
YMMV There is a free $10 points back for $35 purchase in my cart. No coupon needed2 points

Because people actually want this lol. If this wasn't an exclusive there would be no value. I just paid 2,400 for one minifigure the other day to complete my SDCC collection. I don't mind because they only made 350. I for one like the sdcc exclusives. Never been personally...yet I have all the SW/marvel stuff from them. How is this possible?!?! If only there was a way to buy stuff on that internet. Oh well maybe in the future. Either collect them or don't. People on here I would assume would like the exclusive stuff.2 points

Is it just me but do others think that Lego have overdone the London/Uk themes over the past year? We've had Tower Bridge (which just won't die), Big Ben, mini London bus, caterham, London skyline, Buckingham palace and now we get a the Creator version of the London bus. This is not London bashing since I live in old London Town but there are many other places that they can get inspiration.2 points

Yup, PayPal transaction history and possibly whatever packing slip or invoice you provided.1 point

eBay policy is they have to send it 30 days from auction end. The person I bought it from has 100% feedback and over 1,000 transactions. Who knows maybe they have "employees" that go from booth to booth buying the exclusives. They offer 110% money back. They've done it each year without problem. We shall see. Not to worried. Rather grab it now than wait till its live and roll the dice.1 point

I have to say that I'm surprised by the lack of chatter about this year's Winter Village set. It's almost July and nadda so far. People were on to the train concept in February last year, although the first real solid evidence didn't seem to surface until July. I wonder if they won't bring out the Sweet Shoppe this year - I'm still convinced that was the original plan two years ago when they swapped in the WTS rehash for whatever reason. There were candy elements in both the free holiday gifts (train and gingerbread house) which seemed to make it a natural fit.1 point

(Disclaimer - the following is aimed at no one in particular, but simply offered as advice that could benefit us all a little.) I wish everyone complaining about getting screwed would realize that you have more of a say and impact than you think - and by accepting these bogus decisions and policies and simply venting here, you are only enabling it to continue. I've had final decisions reversed, had buyers made to pay for bogus "SNAD" return shipping, had negative feedback erased, and more. You simply have to be patient and persistent - and let eBay know that the situation is unacceptable. First make an honest effort to work it out with the customer. Have the evidence available showing that you tried to provide your own excellent customer service, without being cheated. Then escalate the case to managers. Insist on it when they say one is not available. Call back when they hang up. Put in the time. Explain your situation over and over. Document every call and conversation. Reiterate how long you've been a customer, and how terrible the customer service experience you are getting is - all without being a jackass. Simply make your problem their problem, and they will usually become more willing to help you get rid of it. It's rare, but you can even occasionally find a human that cares enough to see the situation the way it is, and do what is right. Yes, they have the power to do that. There is no "buyer always wins" policy. Certainly that is the eBay culture that has developed in the past few years, but each case is handled individually in the end - by humans. Do your part and make them act like it... or else don't complain. Maybe it's not worth the effort to you, and maybe it shouldn't be this way, but deal with things the way they are to the best of your ability and you'll find a lot more satisfaction.1 point

Finished building this today. Very fast build since there aren't a lot of pieces. Still love the design and I think it displays very very well. Can't believe it's 15+ year old set.1 point

There will always be a corner of my loft for this one. It's performance has been really disappointing so far, but it is such a exceptional set that you have to think it's day will eventually come. There's some serious Batman vehicle overkill on the market at the moment, but ultimately, when all the Lego Batman sets eventually retire, the cream will surely rise to the top, and this is unquestionably the best Batman vehicle set money can buy.1 point
