  1. Bittersweet sale last week. Sold my used 10179 for two bills. After fees, profit is $400. So basically, I was paid $400 to build and display the set for a nice amount of time. It Probably would have fetched closer to $2,800 if sold near the release of The Force Awakens. Some pics...

  2. It's really nice here. The crazy part is that I took this photo at 11pm and the sun is still out. The sun was also back up again at like 3:30am. It is 4:45 am now and I am wide awake. I was going to ask the pilot if we could stop real quick at LEGO HQ, and get some details on the new Falcon

  3. Recently I got back from a duty in Nigeria and bought some retired sets for myself (thanks to the allowance). One of these sets is set 10027 "Train Engine Shed". After I received the set I dismantled it, washed the bricks and base plates and started building. During the building I found several parts were used which are not original and some parts were missing. Still need to order those. Nevertheless I am very very happy with this set. A great appearance and it looks great on display. One day I will use it for my future City. Luckily I found out the Emerald Night (another set I bought after my duty) cannot pass it due to the width. A major crash has been avoided . Cheers!

  6. May ended up being a very slow month on BL, though I had a few large orders that made the month overall very profitable. I blame all the clearance for the slow down. This month, I've already matched sales. Even though I raised my minimum order to $15. Common theme, kids stuff. Here's some things to take note of: 70787 Tahu $20 41055 Cindy castle $70 70784 Lewa $13 75110 skywalker $15 41116 explor car $14 21117 ender dragon $ 65 (really wasn't expecting this. I passed so many at 50% off.) 75109 obi wan $16 21124 end portal $55 75916 Dil Am $40 41015 dolphin $75 10721 iM v Loki $12 10542 sleeping beauty $37 75134 GE BP $15 Cpt hook $6 Tartan BM $7.50 70366 BS Lance $9

  15. I've seen a lot of people go for Ikea Ribba framed for minifigure display. I did mine with a large grey baseplate and I fit 48 collectible minifigs nicely. I've seen people also build out the display shelves as well and you can end up fitting lots more. Now if only I can find the 2 missing figs from series 15. I know they are around somewhere.

  19. Nope. It's a narrative. It was even discussed on Rebel Force Radio last week. I can't believe a comic would try to alter film canon. Oh well... maybe the last issue will be Vader is the shower and shown to be just a dream (kinda like Dallas did when Bobby Ewing died). Oops, I forgot the spoiler tag for the Dallas show.

  20. Sold my last 75054 AT-AT last night for €210 cash. Exactly double my buy-in when I bought these just after I came out of my Lego Dark Ages late 2015. At that time I just couldn't fathom how people would some day be paying a large premium over a set that was available in every toy store selling LEGO sets, and regularly sold at good discount as well! Speaking from hindsight: I should have bought a lot more of this set!

  24. I must admit I love LEGO Shop at Home with their beautiful promos, lovely VIP points and stupidly great shipping policies. In the last few days I sold 3 buildable R2-D2s for €20 cash each and a London Bus/VW Mini Beetle for €45 cash. Love you LEGO Shop at Home

  25. I built the UCS B-Wing 10227 over the weekend as the kids and I continue to work our way through our Star Wars want list whenever we have enough profits from Legos sales to finance our next buy. I enjoyed the build as it had some different pieces that I have never used before...plus I am always a sucker for a large OT set. I haven't built the 75050 B-Wing for comparison, but have been busy selling them to pay for sets like these ?. (Sorry for the low quality pics...we had bad lighting and just snapped them quickly.) Next up for us will be the Tantive IV 10198, which we are excited to finally build.

  29. Non-fruitcake story. Bought and paid for a set. The seller inventoried before shipping, found some missing parts and offered several remedies. We agreed to a refund to cover the cost of BrickLinking the missing parts. Set shipped promptly. Set arrived and I discovered it was missing some parts the seller hadn't caught. The seller agreed to issue another refund to cover the additional replacement cost. Annoying to have to do some more work to get a complete set but at least the interactions with the seller were pretty painless.

  35. I use the 18-drawer storage unit shown in this link: http://www.kmart.com/stack-on-18-drawer-plastic-parts-cabinet-with/p-00962319000P?plpSellerId=Kmart&prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1 I have two of them and sort each drawer by theme. I also have bulk drawers for pants, weapons, etc. And finally, for my bulk heads I keep them stacked on large baseplates. They are first stacked by color and then by features (e.g. female, glasses, facial hair, etc.)

  40. I aim for 50% off on Friends sets that I'm impressed with. Given some patience after retirement and the official toy-stores have run out of stock, the price creeps back up to RRP and it's a decent sale then. Regarding 41122 Adventure Camp Tree House... I got one at 50% off from LEGO Shop at Home in their January sale with the intention to sell it later, but once my daughter saw the box she wanted to have it for her birthday. And a happy daughter is worth more than a profit.
